- Turning All Minecraft Blocks Into Mobs. Mining is a core mechanic of Minecraft, but so is fighting. So what if all blocks were mobs / living entities with an AI? This is similar to the Dream and GeorgeNotFound challenge where blocks attack you / fight back / damage you, except this time around they have feelings and it's all blocks in the world! This is so cursed.
This is a Minecraft mod / modded Minecraft 1.16 and 1.17 challenge, and it could be interesting to see a speed run / speed runner try this mod and beat the game this way.

this was hilarious lmfao. This idea seems like it has soooo much potential lol, I bet you could do tonnnns of crazy things with the idea if someone focused on expanding this for a while to make a highly fleshed out experience.

I actually really like the idea of fire falling like sand as soon as its no longer attached to anything.
Should be a feature imo.
Would be pretty accurate to real fires. That and a burned or charred version of certain blocks when there's been a fire there would make forest fires quite realistic.
@@Candlemancer fire is not a material, therefore, can't "fall" like a real material.

I like how this mod implies you have as much health as a block of wood

9:23 The furnace is a tile entity. When it turns into a mob while it's smelting, Minecraft does not know what to do. Alas, the game crashes.

If you prevented some blocks from being affected and changed the AI based on what block it was, you could probably make a functional playthrough with this

Legends say the bedrock is still falling to this day
It would be interesting to see if it crashes the game once it reaches a point or id it's forced to despawn.
@Jeff The entity's Y position would eventually exhaust the range of a 32-bit float and be treated as Infinity.
It's likely that sending drawcalls to the GPU with malformed float coordinates, as a result of the position being passed down via shaders, will crash.
Imagine how horrifying it would be if Fire, Magma, and Lava all chased you?
If you plan on developing this mod further, it would be interesting to see the indestructible blocks not turn into entities and requiring the correct tools to harvest blocks

Loved the video! I've seen people make stuff with custom plugins, but i've wanted to see someone make videos with full on custom mods for a while now.
Also, not sure if this is exactly video material, but it would be funny to see every structure/feature generate in every chunk, or maybe just woodland mansions if that's not possible.
I've tried doing this myself, but i don't really know my way around Minecraft's code, and it's never worked.

a block of fire dying from fall damage is the most cursed thing in minecraft i've ever seen and i love it
nice, now make everytime you hit a block and stop hitting it for 10 seconds it becomes a normal block in the normal grid until you hit it again
Could not stop laughing watching this unfold! Seeing a core game mechanic being changed in such a domino effect way is really satisfying. Reminds me of when someone modded GTA to have negative coefficients of friction. A parked car is lightly tapped and starts accelerating, making anything else it hits do the same thing.
Technically every part of the world has a block in it since the air blocks exists too. SO TECHNICALLY EVERYTHING IS ALIVE.

This unironically opens up SO many opportunities for building.
it'd be really cool if you made it so that a block could rarely become alive (equate it sort of to shiny pokemon) and you can breed them. Each block only has one chance of this happening. So you could try it with diamond blocks and what not, and have some really rare pets that you get.

In my idea of making all the blocks mobs, I tried to make a chance/percentage of breaking any block turn into a new mob. The mob would be a cube shape or would roll up into a 1x1 block or up to 1x2x3 block. Some blocks were possessed by some being like a sentient red stone or a magical lapis. The other creatures took the form of animals that are boxy or blocky, a different design from the vanilla animals.
I’d love to have this be a downloadable mod to mess around with. It’s truly amazing

You have to have a way for them to revert back to normal blocks eventually for performance reasons
Like if it wasn't hit after a while it will regen health and turn into a normal block (where it's standing)

That means all Minecraft animals have the ability to fly, they just don't do it.
They just voluntarily fly behind you when you leash them.
