The best thing about hair is that it grows back (usually). So curl it, straighten it, dye it, cut it, shave it, have fun with it. Just don’t hate on other people’s choices.

OK, as magic as Jason's fingers are, I have to come to the conclusion that he probably doesn't know how to style curly hair. Every time there is a client with curly hair, Jason's solution is to straighten it and style it straight.

My preference would have been to see his gorgeous curls embraced because he is not going to be able to maintain that style alone.
As someone with naturally curly hair, getting more frizzy as I get older and have those pesky wiry silver ones sneaking in (which being fair don't show phew, yet), it is astounding how many people just cannot cut curly hair, they cannot cut it and they certainly could not style it. I have had some of the most disastrous hair cuts you could imagine. Quality straighteners must be a real saviour for anyone who cannot blow dry well. I used to tell them they had to dry mine hot and fast, would they listen, would they buggery lol, I'd look like a dandelion seed half the time ☺️☺️☺️ x

If you've watched most of his videos you'd understand this comment...almost no one walks out without their hair straightened.. i don't even think it's the customers choice anymore.
@Islander, so the stylist is straightening hair without consent? Doesn't make sense. Clients make their own choice. And, if you would read the description, he does mention these kinds of videos are meant to be somewhat of a tutorial. No one forces the client to straighten their hair.

He got a keratin treatment done to his hair which requires straightening the hair for the product to set. One wash and he’s back to his natural curls, but they will be more manageable for him to style.
So 2020 was the year when we just decided to go with 1 haircut for everyone.

It's HIS hair. He can do WHATEVER the heck he wants with it. You guys in the comment sections are being so judgy. This is the same thing as if I ask you "why do you shave your beard?" You would reply with something like "I don't like having a beard." It's the same thing with this kid. He prefers straight hair. That is none of your business. I have a son with the same curl pattern and with a nice cut, he looks modern and awesome with his curls. But he takes care of them with products made for curly hair, and doesn't comb them dry. Curls are beautiful.

The haircut was nice, it’s just that I see so many clients come in these barber shops, with beautiful curly hair, and the barber wanna straighten it all out, and comb it back, which is the same cut they give everyone, not saying this is u though. Also why do barbers always cut extremely short, the very beautiful hair that makes a person have great looks in the first place? Some people look great with fairly long hair on top, and closely faded on the back and sides, no matter what type of hair they have. Again, not mad at u, um just speaking in general. I’m sorry but the curly hair was better. You should of just left the curly hair on the top,like just cut the sides as in,an undercut/man bun cut. Just cut the sides and let the top part curly and not cut it and in a few months of growing it,it would of been looking good and that’s the new wave for people

Why do you do so many keratin treatments on so many clients? Seems like having curly hair is not appreciated where you are? This process seems so damaging to the hair structure. Just curious.

Keratin is actually one of the best types of hair treatment. The thing about it is that it needs to be “activated” with heat, that’s why hairdressers dry their clients’ hair and then proceed to flat iron it. For the next 2 to 3 days clients are asked to not wash their hair so that the product can set entirely.

Ya. I have had rebonding done for 5 yrs. It looks funny when the hair grows. Ur left with curly roota and straight hair.. Haha. But i had a flat iron so i would straighten the roots. My hair looked really bomb during those 5 yrs. My best hair years.. Unfortunately those harsh chemicals does get u some day.. I had massive hair fall. I had to stop. Now i just use a flat iron.
