🙏Proud to be a Buddhist...and an Indian...Buddhism is in my blood...Thanks to king Ashoka...Buddhism is still prevailing, grooming and pervading everywhere....and H.H the Dalai Lama and all other respectful venerable gurus of Tibetan Buddhism are also playing vital role in cultivating the message of compassion around the world propagated by Lord Buddha around 2600 years ago...Let's not forget or overlook the contribution the Tibetan Buddhism is providing in the current scenario as well. Long live Buddhism..long live India. 🙏

Bakhtiyar Khilji and most afghan and rulers have damaged Buddhist and many unesco world heritage site not mughals..they were mostly afghan rulers and still if you see current rule of talisman in Afghanistan, similar things is happening over there even now..

first of mughals are not khiljis, mughals came much later than that of khiljis , and not only khilji destroyed it, the local people also used the temple parts for the construction of their own houses wich was witnessed by Anagarika Dharmpala a shrilankan buddhist who founded Maha bodhi Society, also the MAhant of gaya Named "Gossain ghamand gir" also destroyed the temple and captured it saying it's our Hindu temple not buddhist , he threw buddhas statue placed in the main hall which was a gift from the king of japan, he placed that Shiv Linga inside the temple. Buddhists had to fight for the right of the temple that till they didn't get the whole authority of the temple, 4 of 8 trustees of this Mahabodhi temple trust are Hindu by the law. Buddhists had to fight in the court for the temple and those Hindu trustees are the disciples of that Mahant Ghamand gir that is the provision made in the rule... feel some chill for that too

@@tusharbarsagade8347 well said, bitter as that may be, it is the truth. Systematic suppression of Buddhism always happened in India ever since the patronage of kings who sponsored Hindu religion because of it’s hierarchical caste system which made them as if they had the divine right to rule which in turn kept the Brahmins wealthy and protected, like the cholas and such. Evidence of this is still kept under hush but you can clearly see in the temples of south India how Buddhist temples were converted into Hindu temples as they still have Buddhist carvings on the walls such as Manjushri and many dharmapalas.

@@tusharbarsagade8347 mahant guru found this temple in abondened conditon back in 1450's and took care till british officer invited buddhists to take control of temple in 1870 forcefully ,one sinhalese buddhist then assembled aroun 30- 40 sinhalese buddhist monks and tried to forcefully take control of temple ,prior to that hindus and buddhist used to worship on temple complex peacefully .....feel some chill for that .....secondly neo buddhism has nothing to do with real buddhism is just a political tool used by bhimkars...feel some chill for that

Even the Guides are sometimes used to spread totally wrong facts and incorrect history. The guide says that the Buddhism finished in India due to King Shashank or other Hindu Kings who cut the Bodhi tree. How ever he does not say that all these incidents happened very early and Buddhism was the prominent religion in India during the times when Muslim invaded. The Buddhism religion which was more in urban areas of India due to protection and promotion by royal courts, was destroyed, monks killed, books burned by the Islamic invaders. That is the time when many monks and learned buddhists went away to Tibet, Thailand, and other neighbouring countries. Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism always coexisted and have mutual respect. These religions have same tenets and teachings promote ahimsa and respect for all lining beings and nature. If killing and violence was our culture then the story of Shankracharaya winning the shashtrath against Buddhist scholars would not have been there. Now may i ask how and why the false hate story of Hinduism vs Buddhism is spread even by the guides.

You mean hinduism which cursed each god believes in ahimsa?
Hindus who believe in caste system believe in ahimsa?
Hindus who read stories of gods heads being cut off believe in ahimsa
The truth about hinduism is coming out.

The guy is very good. He knows a lot of Buddhist and Indian history. Cambodia is also a Buddhist country and was known as Khmer Empire that used to rule over current Cambodia, Thailand Lao and South Vietnam. It was heavily influenced by both Hindu and Buddhist religions and Indian Literacy from 2nd A. D until present days. About 95 per cent of Cambodians are Buddhists. Apart from religions, Cambodians are mixed with people from South East Asia, South Asia and East Asia. Thousand of great temples in Cambodia, and its former empire including Thailand, Loa and South Vietnam were built by many Khmer Kings to honors Hindu gods and the Buddha. Sadly this country is not well known by its former glory, but rather by recent war and genocide.

    Statue worship began before 10AD.
Even in Tibet where Buddhism spread much later has two statues of Buddha dating back to 7AD. These two statues are considered as most holy and enshrined in two temple. The more popular we know now is Jokhang or Home of Buddha in Lhasa. These two statues were brought by Nepalese and Chinese princess who married Tibetan emperor Songsten Gampo in 7AD.
The earliest Buddha statues were made in Gandhara in 2AD. Even the giant Bamiyan Buddha destroyed by Taliban were made in 6AD.
In 1990s Shiv Ling was outside.
At the time of Cunnigham excavation Buddha statue is hidden in some corner in different room and Shiv Lang was placed as Hindu pandit who had taken possession of MahaBoodhi temple.
