@@Boardandbrazen definately Brave to do it on Hub drive. I've skated a 90mm hub drive mini through East London, got used to it back then but I wouldn't go back to it now 😂

the seaport was where my first real rejection/ devastation happened way back in junior highschool. ahh the memories lol , cool vid. that run from bk bridge all the way to Williamsburg bridge is one of my favorite in the city 🏁

I am going to New York at the end of the week. I'm looking forward to seeing this city. I have never been on an electric skateboard, but i am thinking i should 😂 maybe.

Greta question Dan, not my forté but, we do have some experience :
Alison has owned 3 e-scooters now and they have a variety of merits and drawbacks . I haven’t really kept up with current scooter models but I will give you the benefit of our experience .
1. Apollo Ghost - This was the first scooter I bought for her in the UK and it was a monster . Dual motor , suspension, under lot with LED lights and a top speed of circa 40mph . It weighed a ton and was not convenient at all. Overall not appropriate for her , too fast , aggressive styling and way too heavy .
2. Unagi model one - Described as the IPhone of scooters. Great looking , light and very capable. Dual motor with plenty of punch to tackle most hills. But , the range is poor . Real world is about 7-9 miles and the charge time is ludicrous. A fun local commuter but not suitable for a day in the city. Also the wheels are not pneumatic and are solid rubber making for a rough ride. The newer model is supposed to have more range but is a monthly rental scheme and not a privately owned device
3. Niu kqi3 pro . An advertised range of 30 miles and top speed of 20mph. We have never achieved more than 20 or so miles the speed is accurate. With 9” pneumatic Tyres and a wide platform , it’s a very comfortable ride . Built in lights not bad styling with mostly hidden cables. The down side is the single motor that can effect hill climbing and probably the range because it’s quite inefficient. Charge time is about 5 hours from flat . But of the three definitely has the best features . I believe there are a couple of models since we bought this one that are better range and efficiency.
Our wish list for the next scooter would be :
- good range
- pneumatic Tyres
- faster charge times
Our initial ‘need’ for a light frame isn’t a need now. Plenty of subway stations have elevators and we rarely need to carry down stairs.
