that Lydian chord in the chorus section is one of the most beautiful chords I’ve heard in my life.

I love when songwriters hit on something super simple....that is just PERFECT.
The two examples that always come to mind are.....this, Laura Palmer's Theme.
And the Time track from the Inception soundtrack.
Two songs that basically center on nothing but 4 repeating chords......that both transport you to a very specific emotional realm.

God I love the Lydian mode, isn't it TOO dreamy?

Great review! I knew there was a bunch of lydian trickery in this song haha, its truly majestic how well its composed. I've never really managed to modulate with lydian so this is a prime example of how it is done!

Heard those unique chords in the walking dead game soundtrack and was wondering why it sounded so much like this theme. Learned alot👍

Great job guys ! Really helpful analysis. Couldn't we consider the Emajor as a borrowed chord from the a minor scale, which is the relative minor of c major ?

Hi Thanos! Yeah, it can be considered that, but because the tonality never shifts to A minor in the beginning, I would consider it a mediant. But, you do bring up a good point!

Modern Music Education Yeah I see your point, but i keep my doubts. You 've got a great channel going on. You have got a new fan ! Keep up your good work.
