Yami, girl... give yourself some grace! That chest came out absolutely breathtaking 😍 I started my whole DIY journey with refinishing furniture. I did that and that only for several years straight and I loved being a furniture artist. You are right in some aspects. The finish you achieved would look absolutely stellar on a large piece of furniture. Plus, there are a lot of "furniture refinishers"/"furniture artists"/"furniture flippers" out there that have been going at it for years and still do not get the concepts of depth and dimension or highlights and lowlights or aging or even how to shade. The fact that you get all of those concepts and can even do them on a small piece of home decor, is astounding‼️ I picked up on the fact that you really understood how to age a piece (even if it is just like a little old candlestick lol) a while back especially when you combined your waxes with the decrepit dusts. You have a true talent that many will never achieve even after being in the industry for years. Your finish took that chest to a WHOLE new level and it came out stunning and yes that finish would also look so amazing on a large piece of furniture but who's to say it can't look amazing on both?! Girl, I think you nailed it 💯 I love how the chest turned out ❣️ I do however, think that you should do some more large pieces of furniture 😜 Utilize those God given talents Girl and let them shine ❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜
Hi Yami, loved the treasure chest, I'm a bit obsessed with that Restoration Hardware furniture and I think you got just the right look, this finish will definitely look amazing on a piece of furniture!
I have done that in the past also, but I have learned that cutting 3 pieces gives me sharper edges on the cushion so I started doing it that way instead. It’s just a matter of preference 😁
I always feel that when a piece is distressed the final product should look like it has a story to tell - giving you the ability to imagine the hands that have touched it and the places it has been. You succeeded beautifully in achieving this with the chest. Love it!
I have seen so many things that can be made out of cork and your wreath was cute and a conversation piece. I think the wall plaques were much better painted. Velvet pillow covers...who doesn't love a bit of velvet and the blue... so nice. I think the paint technique you used on the small chest turned out well and made a vast improvement on the look of the project. I think it screams out for a stencil or appliqué but that's just me. Everything was lovely, nice work. Thank you for sharing.
I personally think the little trunk turned out fantastic. Yes, the weathered look would look great on a larger piece but I feel like you achieved the right look for the trunk as well. Loved the velvet pillow as well!
What you call an Ugh Oh/not so sure Moment... I call perfection 😂. I love the way the chest turned out! It would look amazing on a bigger piece of furniture too but you knocked the technique out the park! You are an amazing talented lady!....you never give yourself enough credit but that’s ok we’ll give it you ❣️😘🤗 As always “PERFECTION” Truly from my ❤️ Great job Yami! 🙌🏻 All the makeovers are beautiful!
Everything that you touch shines. The chest turned out beautiful. I love the pillow covers! My aunt was an amazing seamstress also and I learned a few things from her. I love when you shared some of your family history and memories because I can relate to that. God bless you and your family! Thank you for sharing!
Although it took forever in real time I’m sure, the treasure chest turned out beautiful! Yes, yes, yes; please do a larger piece with those techniques. I’m sure it would be amazing!
Happy Wednesday! Wow everything looks so beautiful and well done. You are so talented in so many ways! Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and as always stay safe and blessed.
Everything looks super! The trunk's finish is beautiful......i think you're right...maybe on aarge piece. I could see q navy blue/nautical style for this trunk would be awesome. My favorite is the cork wreath...wow. Stunning. Hugs ❣️
I can't wait to copy....I mean be inspired by your cork wreath. Love love love your little treasure chest. We creatives critique our work beyond what others would ever do. As always you are inspiring.
Love them all as always. I have a suggestion for the pillows that I learn from Kiva Brent. Always use two inches bigger for the pillow inserts. The pillows won’t look deflated and according to Kiva your pillows will look more luxe.
I love how you brought new life to those small plaques. Super cute!! Amazing work on the little chest!! It was fascinating to watch what each layer of paint/wax did to change the look!! I think if you added some postage marks or something of that nature, it would add another dimension and look great too.
I LOVE the little treasure chest! I think it ultimately turned out just gorgeus! And I do think think that technique would look awesome on a larger piece of furniture, but I still loved it on the small chest! Nice job!
All of them were awesome!!! But my absolute favorite was #4!!! That turned out beautifully!!! It looks like something you would see at a Hobby Lobby!!!💜
Great tip from your grandmother about measuring straight! My Gram taught me to sew, also. ❤️ I think the treasure chest turned out beautifully. I liked all of these projects.
DIY paint is the best on the market. The items turned out beautiful. I love the cork wreath and the wall plaques. You really transformed them. Thanks Yami
Umm…Yami, all the pieces are amazing! I adore the treasure chest! The depth and dimension you achieved is absolutely amazing……you make me want to buy all the things because then I can make my things look like Yami’s!!!!! You are so talented and have such an eye for reimagining everything! I am always inspired by you!
I loved them all but my fave is those beautiful pillow covers. They make such a statement. DIY Paint is the best, I use it all the time. I would also like to see the paint technique you used on the chest today, on a bigger piece also. TFS😊
I think the finish worked for the chest. It does make it look bigger and I see what you mean about doing that finish on a larger piece. How you style it will make a difference too. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice work on all the projects!! The cork wreath sang to me!! And the two plaques are gorgeous! I don’t sew but I still appreciated the velvet cushion cover. I have a treasure chest in a much smaller size. You gave me inspiration to do something to it. You are very talented.
That cork wreath is so pretty and you obviously have a lot of patience doing the wreath and the chest and they both turned out beautiful. I also loved the Hobby Lobby pieces, they are ornate and distressed so well. Always look forward to your videos Yami.
I actually really liked how the small chest turned out, I have that chest and 2 more very similar in different sizes. And yes early 2000’s Kirkland’s. These were my Moms and I somehow ended up with them. So… now I know what to do with them 😜. Everything turned out so pretty❤️
Yami, you did a great job on all of your diys. The treasure chest is my favorite. I give you a Big Thumbs Up 👍🏽!! Thanks for sharing your creativity. Have a blessed weekend ❤️
I absolutely love the gorgeous cork wreath, so stunning! The two plaques turned out so beautifully! The pillow is so beautiful, love the color! The chest is so amazing!💕🌸
Everything you presented is fabulous. I am a sucker for those "Pier 1" style chests. lol But then I don't know what to do with them and some of them are so orange/red/brown. I think yours turned out fabulous. Love the colors, technique and definitely would love to see that on a larger piece like an urn or table. Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love what you did with the little trunk!! The other projects were great too, but I am a collector of trunks and boxes...lol More places for me to store various treasures. Have a good week and thanks for sharing!! 😊💕
I enjoyed each one of your projects. My favorite was the box. I have some things I need to repaint and I’ll keep your tips on hand because I really like what you did with it. I forget about that technique in making pillows. I used to make mine that way. I haven’t made any on a while. I’ve made them on a continuous piece and made them with seams. I think different fabrics may call for one way or the other. Many times I feel it helps hold its shape with the seam across the top and bottom. Either way you’ve given us lots of inspiration today. Thank you!
Yami I swear you blow my mind with all of your projects! One day my mind will truly explode😂. My absolute favorite was the cork wreath. Something i'll definitely try in the future!
I love all of the T2T pieces tou did❤️ The weathered chest is unbelievable and I really think that it would also look great on a larger scale piece. Great job Yami, love when you go beyond your comfort zone. Thank you for sharing.
LOVE LOVE the trunk!! Have zero idea what you said as I’m watching in the dark while Todds snoring next to me & I’m not allowed to disturb his heinous!! 🙈. Anyhoo….I’d love to see a French script transfer ontop!!!! But either way it’s fabulous!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just finished your video this morning! Those plaques fit perfect in the space you put them in! And your treasure chest looks amazing, absolutely gorgeous! I love everything that you did to it! As always Yami, thank you for sharing all of your hard work, creativity, talent and inspiration! Stay safe, healthy and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤🇺🇸😊 P.S. I would love to see a tour of your craft room/studio & how you store everything. Do you think you could do some Beach themed diys?😁😉❤
Yami, All of these pieces look amazing as they always do. The treasure chest is fabulous I love the color it turned out to be. I would leave it like this. Great inspiration for me.
Love all your DIYs they’re very informative, I learn a lot today you’re so bless to have a grandma that taught you how to sew. I’m definitely going to start doing my pillow covers . Thanks for sharing ❤
I definitely think you achieved the weathered look you were going for Yami! Well done on all your projects. My favorite was the cork wreath!❤️ Have a blessed day!

Love your videos. Projects are fun and your voice is very soothing, perfect combo. Can you do a video showing how all DIY products work?
Thanks for the suggestion! I might be able to compile a video after doing several techniques on several different projects.
Hi Yami, loved the treasure chest, I'm a bit obsessed with that Restoration Hardware furniture and I think you got just the right look, this finish will definitely look amazing on a piece of furniture!
Thank you so much! I’m definitely going to try it on something bigger. 🥰
@@TheLatinaNextDoor will look forward to see how it turns out! 😍
I make envelope pillow covers quite often and I find it easier to use just one piece of fabric rather than cutting three. It’s so much easier.
I have done that in the past also, but I have learned that cutting 3 pieces gives me sharper edges on the cushion so I started doing it that way instead. It’s just a matter of preference 😁
@@TheLatinaNextDoor I’ll try it soon.
The cork wreath is so cute! I love how it adds so much interest but still a neutral color palette 🖤
Thank you! I love it too, but don’t really need a second so I’m thinking of selling it 🤷🏻♀️
Love the cork wreath….. I most definitely will be making one 🥰🍷
I always feel that when a piece is distressed the final product should look like it has a story to tell - giving you the ability to imagine the hands that have touched it and the places it has been. You succeeded beautifully in achieving this with the chest. Love it!
Thank you Patricia! 🥰
Loved all of them, but what you did to the chest is amazing 💕

The wet distressing of the two medallions is beautiful
Thank you for sharing all these amazing diys. I am going to try to make the envelope pillow covers. I love the way the chest turned out.
It’s so easy and once you start you won’t stop. 🤣💕
I personally think the little trunk turned out fantastic. Yes, the weathered look would look great on a larger piece but I feel like you achieved the right look for the trunk as well. Loved the velvet pillow as well!

I appreciate it Donna! 🥰🥰

Thank you Velia! I love learning from family especially from generations past.
My favorite is the two little detailed wall planks. They came out so beautiful. Great job.
My favorite is the treasure box. You totally transformed the piece.
Although it took forever in real time I’m sure, the treasure chest turned out beautiful! Yes, yes, yes; please do a larger piece with those techniques. I’m sure it would be amazing!
The velvet pillow was my favorite! Great job on all the projects 🙋🏻♀️
Happy Wednesday! Wow everything looks so beautiful and well done. You are so talented in so many ways! Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and as always stay safe and blessed.
I think the chest looks great and the finish would also look great on a large piece of furniture! 😊
Loved your treasure chest, before and after. That last finish was definitely the way to go. I'm tempted to try it myself.
The cork wreath is my favorite one!! I like the chest for you because you use a lot of gray in your house.
My fav was the cork wreath & the 2 wall hangers. You did an awesome job with the scrap material pillow.
Enjoyed this video.
My favorite is the chest. Yes, the technique would also look great on something larger but it also looks beautiful on the chest. Brava!
Everything looks super! The trunk's finish is beautiful......i think you're right...maybe on aarge piece. I could see q navy blue/nautical style for this trunk would be awesome. My favorite is the cork wreath...wow. Stunning. Hugs ❣️

Everything turned out great! I can see how that treasure chest could be a challenge….but, it certainly looks cool 😎
I think the chest looks great. I'd add a bit more white in a few spots to go more with your light decor, but it's really cute!!
