@@AnnaOnRoads I loved reviewing them as well. I love the look and off road capabilities of the GX, but how often do I utilize that? Maybe twice a year? In that case my logical side wins out and says go RX for the increased MPG. I had the hybrid RX 2 weeks ago and that was really nice!
Happy new year Anna! VW has only gone half way back to buttons instead of touch screen only for even basic things. I guess that they don't want to admit that they took all these buttons away for cost saving reasons arguably at the expense of some safety. Physical buttons back on the steering wheel and the twisty touchy knob on the console are welcome. The temperature controls remaining on the touch screen is not though as for me these are the very things that I'm likely to want to adjust on the move, maybe there is a way to control them via that twisty knob I do not know. Anyway it is an improvement so we should be grateful for that. Brilliant production and editing as usual. Many thanks for sharing.
Hi Anna, Happy New Year Very good review as always. I'm glad you removed the typewriting graphics & sound between chapters, video flows more smoothly now :) Take care, cheers
Happy New Year Anna. Reason for the 7 speed DCT holding on to a lower gear is two reasons, 1. this small displacement turbo engine develops peak torque/hp at lower RPM and two, to conserve fuel economy. Yes, programming is by design that you pick up on. And yes, quite right, this creates a NVH drone which is antithetical to performance enthusiasts like yourself and me too. I would never buy a hybrid for the false economy of higher cost of purchase but at least VW released this driveline without a CVT however there are real challenges to controlling DCT smoothness and long term reliability. If one much go hybrid, both Honda and Toyota have much better hybrid transmissions and no turbo for better reliability. If you could find a cheap lease on one of these, it would be ok with safety of a warranty. A handsome vehicle however as you say. VW also can't stay away from complicated infotainment screens which turns off a lot of drivers. Hard to trust VW reliability in America at least. All German cars excepting Porsche tend to rate lowest in long term reliability and VW no exception. All cars are becoming less reliable due to much higher complexity, small displacement, turbos, batteries and huge increase in electronics and safety systems. Safe travels in 2025.
Diesel was so much more desirable before diesel particulate filters and all the other insanely expensive emissions components. One post-warranty failure more than wipes out the money saved on fuel. Great review as usual, Anna!
A sophisticated and practical SUV that will undoubtedly meet the needs of many. But in the meantime, I'm hoping that you may review the Corvette C8 this year. Is this a possibility ? As usual, many thanks for the review of the VW.
Hi Anna! Professional video you make as usual, I saw when you were in the back seat that you didn't have the handbrake on when the wheels moved, so I thought I'd see if the car rolls away. I would never buy a car from the VW group then, many Swedes think it's a bad company. It's after they deceived customers around the world about consumption and emissions if I remember correctly, all car owners around the world except the Swedes received damages from VW. Then VW is a bad company to do car business with and therefore in Kiruna at least fewer VWs are being bought. Because if you compare VW to Volvo, even those who own a VW get better pay when trading in their VW at Volvo than they get at VW, it seems strange that VW gives a worse price for its own brand. Then at VW you can't get discounts on what you equip your new car with, while you get it at Volvo. But Citroen and also Mitsubishi and Subaru are just as bad. So these car companies were closed in my city Kiruna and so was KIA. I don't understand why car manufacturers don't learn from Volvo, to give better payment for trade-ins and create discounts on the equipment a car owner chooses, so you sell more new cars. Because car customers choose car brands that treat them with respect and make sure the customer is satisfied. In Sweden, car companies don't make a loss on used cars, because customers come from other parts of Europe and buy used Swedish cars. Because Sweden has a good reputation in Europe that we Swedes take care of the cars we own, so used Swedish cars have a higher resale value compared to the rest of Europe Good continuation in the new year Anna. Hope you increase by over 100,000 subscribers
I’m on my fourth Tiguan now, First two where two wheel drive and rubbish in any slippery conditions. There are no four wheel drive options apart from the 2.0ltr petrol engine in the new model which will rule me out buying another.
Happy New year ,i would say a good family car who do lots of miles nice colour nice cabin nut i can't put my finger on it but soome how VW just dont do it for me 😔
Why not to go? Overpriced , some electronic problems plus this is a car manufactured by the bancrupting company with half of its workforce on strike. Therefore quality problems as well as aftersale and spare parts availability should be considered.
Hi Robert, the reason it's best in its category - engine choice. Choice is freedom. The XC60 is much more superior but limited in engine choices in many countries.
Hi Anna, Happy New year 🎉🎉🎉 I liked a lot the music at the start, very nice. I love the red dress, very simple, elegant, and sexy at the same time. And I love seeing a beautiful woman wearing a dress, not worrying to be feminine, and beautiful. In Italy we say you look like a BOMB 💣💣💣 [in Italian it is SEI UNA BOMBA} I wish you and your family all the best for the new year. 🎉🥂🎉🥂 🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤
OK they added a couple knobs ans switches back in, but not nearly enough and the controls are still too complicated and not at all intuitive. Wouldn't one. Cars need to be simple to operate, something than anyone can jump into and use all the basic things without thought and this isn't that.
I have a 2021 rline black edition and its the slowest turd ive ever owned granted im in the US and we got the crappy b cycle ea888.3, and no options for dsg the north american market tiguans are dumpster fires!
Volkswagen Group is so much larger then you realize. It holds brands like VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Cupra, Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Also truck brands like MAN and Scania are part of the VW Group. It is the largest car manufacturer in Europe and the second largest in the world. So yes, I believe they will still be around in the next 10 years. 😂
Hi Dan, usually people comment like this "garbage" when they've had a bad personal experience. The reality is that every single car model has created some issues for people. One just has to hope it won't be us. But it happens with every car manufacturer. I think the Tiguan is a little better looking but it comes down to a personal taste. And with Tiguan, you have more engine choices.
Which SUV would you go for and why?
I’m torn between the Lexus GX 550 and one of the Lexus RX models. Right behind that is the Genesis GV80
@@travis79109 Hi Travis, oh I do like the GX550 - that boxy strong design. But to be honest, you can't go wrong with either of these. All superb cars!

In about this size for me new SQ5 Sportback is best. And general from German SUV: X6M 🙂💪

@@AnnaOnRoads if I really had to have an SUV, money no object. Lamborghini urus, because why not 🤣
Sleek, sophisticated, elegant, sporty, refined. I have a vague notion there was a car in this video too.

Thanks Anna for another great presentation.

Touchscreen far to fiddly. Anna definitely prefers chunky knobs!
HVAC controls makes this a no-go for me. Love the exterior but c'mon VW, give us dials and buttons to control heat and air!
The gear box is a problem, it lasts about 60,000 miles then problems start. Usually with a large bill, buyer be ware.
I would like to see a Skoda Kodiac
I will try to get one!
How does diesel compare with regular gas from a price standpoint in Europe?
On average, the diesel version is only about USD 1,500 more expensive. So if someone is doing a lot of long-distance, this will be a pretty quick ROI.
I’m on my fourth Tiguan now, First two where two wheel drive and rubbish in any slippery conditions. There are no four wheel drive options apart from the 2.0ltr petrol engine in the new model which will rule me out buying another.
