I would have trouble understanding this if I hadn't installed klipper 3 times already. A lot of the terms you throw around may as well be in a forgotten language lol. It's for sure helping me as a quick refresher.
@@AndTecks that's because this is more of a "if you know how" rather than a how-to. I deep dive into the basics in my installing klipper the easy way video and my cb1 and pad7 review videos also cover the minor differences in detail.
sorry I'm a litte bit confused, what firmware did you end up using out of those 3? It sounded like you used them all, if im correct, could you share that firmware? im planning on running this on a rpi4. Also, is auto bed leveling availible on this?
big thanks for the video!
It's not a matter of using different firmware with Klipper, it's just the config file. I tried the ones that were available and opted to make my own based on a combination of what I found and what I made myself
Your pressure advance value ? Nice that you’ve made this video I had no documented process from ender 3 v3 se. Then I found yours that was really helpful n gave me a base line. Once people get the taste of klipper then there’s is no going back I guess. That’s the first upgrade I did with this printer, and removing the unstable mass from the top n went to reverse Bowden was the next upgrade which might be necessary for people who prefer print quality.
I believe it's 0.055? I have to look
Very informative! Almost looks like the ender 3 v2 has better quality than the v3se at a similar price point nowadays
I don't have one to compare, unfortunately. I will say that the quality on subsequent prints has been really good, though.
@@TheFeralEngineer that is encouraging! I plan on getting my first printer after financially recovering from Christmas and I've been keeping an eye out for reviews of the v3se
@@dalem7742 I printed out a few lens covers for my camera. I should make a short about them because they aren't worth a full video, but the quality is excellent. I'll continue printing more with this machine as soon as time allows. Work always picks up towards the end of the year because everyone wants their capital investment tax breaks before December 31, which puts me on the road a lot between now and then. Thank goodness for PTO.
The newer machines are all pushing speed over quality and somewhat hoping that the software can be fine tuned. If you are not in a rush the older printers are just as good.
I just hit 16:30 something and heard Herb Alpert. Awesome choice! LOL
It needed to be in there. I felt compelled.
Hello budy, how are you ? - I have a very layman's question, I would say; Is it possible to install the klipper on a tablet, if so is it possible to get a model similar to the sonic pad?
Some have been able to install it onto an android phone, but I haven't tried.
Something similar to a sonic pad would be the btt pad7, but it's a better solution IMHO.
@@TheFeralEngineer This is magnificent! Here in Brazil the value is very high. The marketing of these products is notorious and the characteristics do not match the price charged. I'll delve deeper! Thank you friend!
Just bought the SE as my first 3d printer. I doubt I'll be diving into klipper in the first 24hrs - but no doubt will do in the months to come. I have a spare pi zero 2w kicking around - would this be enough to run klipper?
I also have a spare orange pi zero 3 which has more RAM but is also dodgy on it's wifi connection
In theory, the zero 2w should work fine, but I haven't tried myself.
Hey everyone, I got the Nebula Pad for my Ender 3 V3 SE and rooted it. So far, so good. However, I’ve noticed that the installation scripts are outdated and no longer work. Does anyone have an alternative solution for me?
Thankyou for the very informative video. I am a newbie to 3D printing and just got a Ender3 V3 SE as my first printer. Trying to figure out how to install Klipper on this machine but don't know where to find the real Creality printer.cfg for this printer model - Sounds like you have a source for it from the Sonic - can you provide a link to download your printer.cfg file in the video comments?
I'm going to share it as soon as it's buttoned up and bulletproof 😀
I didn't like the official cfg so I started making a patchwork config that has some promise
thank you - really appreciate it - I guess until then i don't have a solution.. did any of the other two github ones work at all or do they not match the mainboard or mcu specs? @@TheFeralEngineer
@@creativesoftwareconceptsin124 I can send you what I've got working right now, but there will never be a perfect solution for Klipper. That's the beauty of Klipper; it's completely up to the user to decide how crazy you want to get.
@@TheFeralEngineer hey, could you please share the config?
@@aleshenyou happened to catch me while I was in my printer room filming my next video and not out for work like I usually am during the week 😂.
here you go.

Im returning my Sonic Pad, and will be getting the BTT, have the SE, could i just copy my printer config to the BTT or have to start over? I noticed you edited some stuff out, where can i find such information? Thank you in advance
I wasn't too thrilled with the sonic pad cfg. It worked, but it was janky. I'll put my cfg on my GitHub when I get home at the end of the week. It's not feature rich, but at least it works.
@@TheFeralEngineer sounds good, thank you
are you able to use above 260c? I swapped my heatbreak to an all metal and am struggling with the sonic pad kicking off when going above 260c.
Haven't had to. You probably need to change your thermistor
hello sir im just new in the klipper im just running it in old ender 3 and thinking to make my SE klippered too, but im just using thin client. Can i use the same cfg that you provided?
Yes. You have to get your serial ID for the client and the rest will work
@@TheFeralEngineer thanks sir i already get it working, btw how to level the bed sir? i already do the bed mesh but the bed is still not leveled. thanks again sir
Hello! I have a one question, its posible install the klipper on nebula pad? I have a v3 se with the nebula pad and only i have errors. Thank you
The nebula pad runs a version of klipper already. You probably just need to get the config dialed in properly. What are the errors?
I love my creality pad. You have to use hot glue on allllll of the usb ports. It helps with wear and vibrations. Do the 3d printer usb too
But how would you remove the cable from the port if you need to?
Great tut with the SE being de-crealitised lol ... now if you want a real challenge, try to install the Pad 7 or even real klipper on our darn KE 😅 That version is just a mess of VIOLANT HAIR PULLING 😂 Tried to install a Beacon3D ... no luck, use Pad 7 ... no luck as no sim card slot to flash it ... etc etc ... just a big brick of slimdown Klipper. Almost on the edge of swapping a SE mainboard on my KE and follow your tut after 😉👍
You'd probably have to find the programming pins on the board (DIO, CLK, etc) and use an STLink to flash the chip
Thanks for all the great videos, after watching your vid about the btt 7 pad on a neptune, I used it to upgrade my neptune 3 to klipper. after a full day of messing with it I got it printing pretty good, but I can not figure out how to get the silly thing to load and unload filament, any help you can offer would be much appreciated
You just need to make a load and unload g code macro and save them to printer.cfg

Thank you, I was able to get that to work with just so minor editing@@TheFeralEngineer
@@woogiehumphrey awesome! Glad to hear 🐱🐱
I have upgraded the Ender 3 v3 SE hot end, and I am running klipper with the sonic pad, but I still cant print above 260c even after modifying max temp through the print.cfg. Any suggestions?
You need a 300c thermistor
@@TheFeralEngineer I upgraded to the Creality K1 Max ceramic Heating Block Kit. That should already have a 300c thermistor?
Did you ever find out how to get it to run once I hit 265c I'd get abnormal thermal heating error I just ordered the nebula pad which i hear can actually do 300c right out the box @@RESTIVOX12
hi, can I install on on an old laptop running Linux mint instead, will the installation process still the same?
Yes it works the same. Just remove the brltty service or you'll have USB issues
@@TheFeralEngineer nice. thanks bro. subed for future ender 3 v3 se content
@@BM_brb I've got multiple videos on installing klipper on different devices, so check them out. The steps are all very much the same 🐱🐱
I think the only thing the e3v3se is going to need from this point (aside from firmware that supports the bed sensor) is lighting. Klipper and the polisi3d heatbreak really woke it up 🐱🐱
I am just wandering are there any better configurations now, I just installed klipper on my v3 se, and am looking for configuration just for stock v3se that will do everything i nede for printing, i doon't have acelerometars for input shaper so would like something stock ore pre tuned with stock printer. Still new to this so don't know enough to make my own .conf
There is no standard for a stock printer from a pressure advance and input shaper standpoint.
My config works perfectly on my machine but it may run like crap on another. The point of Klipper is having the ability to customize and dial in your printer for optimal results, it's not just "put it in and print fast".
I'll try and update my GitHub later with the latest config, but you'll still need to learn.
@@TheFeralEngineer Another questionee, do u have any problem with extruder on your v3 se, I see lot of people have unexplainable clicking, and it started happening to me too can't seem to find anyone on yt tackling that problem so don't know what to do. I often find that people just replace extruder and that doesn't sound to god for new machine.
@@gs_invader7364 nope. Clicking is sometimes caused by clogs or partial clogs
after klipper, is auto bed level and z offset working well?
I'm curious about it too!
@@snowshoyo auto bed level works awesome. I only set Z offset once with paper and I haven't had to touch it since.
@@TheFeralEngineer that means, auto z-offset workaround is pending
@@naveennishad yes, I mentioned this in the video. There's a community build of Klipper with a beta version of it and creality is supposed to release their code because of gpl, but I'm not sure when it'll be released.
@@TheFeralEngineer thank you for letting me know .
would it be possible to use a raspberry pi (or banana pi, orange pi, anything pi..) with klipper to control the ender 3 v3 se?
also, would it be possible to auto input shapping with it?
Yes. I recommend the btt-pi because it's cheap, runs on native 24v from your printer psu and can control 4 printers from a single unit. It supports input shaping just like the btt pad7 and other pi type devices.
@@TheFeralEngineer nice! Thank you very much, I'll search a btt pi to buy :3, it's a little expensive here in my country, but I do have a rpi4 b, thats why I asked, thanks !!!
@@snowshoyo that will work even better!
@TheFeralEngineer thank you for all the responses and caring
Man the focus for the prints is terrible, try to have a neutral background behind the stuff you point to, block autofocus, have the thing in the frame as big as possible.
Maybe point the camera against the wall or a piece of paper and then put the cubes in front of that.
New camera. Trying to get the hang of it.
Got a new lens that seems to fix the issue. It focuses way closer to the lens
@@TheFeralEngineer I get that, it takes time...
Maybe when you are shooting the details don't keep them hanging with your hands on a very rich background like the whole printer. Lay that on a plain surface and macro on that.
But hey it's good work, Klipper on the S3 VE is a first on youtube :)
@@eaman11 I think I finally got the hang of this camera. I can set it up so that it doesn't blur the background and it's got AI driven focus control as long as i remember to use it. 😂😂
This has a this old Tony vibe. Thanks!
I was thinking the same.
@GVPARTS that is definitely high praise 🥰
How about installing linear on X? Is it possible?
Stay tuned 😉😉
So will you provide the files of your settings or not ???
Sure, if you're a bit nicer about it

@@TheFeralEngineerThanks!
Super helpful video, thanks a ton for all of the info. But dude, you suck at delivering that information. You drone on and on about something you're gonna do later that has no importance at all. But then when you're delivering useful information you zoom through it far too quickly. Wonderful information here. About 6 or 7 minutes of this video was helpful. It'd be even more helpful if that 6 or 7 minutes was expanded to 10.
...Thanks... I think? Probably because I've got a half dozen other videos on the exact same subject that are easily accessible. I've installed Klipper onto so many printers and Linux devices that I've begun to glass over the finer elements of it because that information is located elsewhere in depth. But thank you for enlightening me about how poorly executed my delivery and overall content is and I invite you to show me exactly how to do it.
@@TheFeralEngineer I apologize my comment got ranty and off topic and turned overtly negative. I really meant to convey my appreciation of the very helpful info you shared with just a jovial little "hey, dude, work on your pacing a little bit". But then I got rambling. I blame my meds for kicking in for the rambling. Unfortunately I rambled and expanded on the negative part and zoomed through the positive part. Now that I think of it, kinda exactly like I said you did *facepalm* expanding on the unimportant and zooming through the important. I apologize for the negativity of my original comment. Your video is extremely helpful and contains a lot of useful information. So, in summary, thank you very much for sharing. I'll work on bitching less in the future lol
@@windsorclarence this video was meant to be more of a "casual chat" style video, because I've got so many videos about configuring Klipper that to rehash it step by step in every video would just be redundant. This one was more of a "if you know how to do it, assuming you've been through my other videos, here's what will be a little different" and just my experience with getting it installed on this relatively new machine. That's the thing with Klipper; the first time, it's hard af, second time it's way easier, 10th time, it's pretty much bound to work. That's kinda how my videos go too; first time is super in depth, second one is more laid back, 10th one, we're just shooting the shit while I'm doing something in the background.
Problem with pacing is that everyone is different. I did a 23 minute long video where I drilled 4 holes, degreased an aluminum plate and stuck on some adhesive backed sheets because not everyone can follow the abridged version of things, but those who know how to drill holes will be the first to say I dragged it out for way too long. It's a delicate balance. I've taught hundreds, if not thousands, of people over the years, but when the same ones come back a third, fourth and fifth time simply because they hadn't used what I showed them 2 years prior, I'm not going to go at it with the same amount of depth because in my head, they should know this already and I'm not going to come off condescending and explain it to them like they're five.
/rant 😂😂
