Thanks for the update. I heard that this aircraft had a bright future years ago and was wondering what happed to it. I love old flying boats . One of my favorites is the British Short Singapore III. It was a biplane with four engines in push pull configurations. Not as unusual as many might think.
Well the Dornier Wal, Dornier 18 worked pretty well. As a small amphibian it would seem suitable for the search-and-rescue / air ambulance mission in remote regions with poor infrastructure.
Hmmm 7 million for an aircraft that flies less than 1000nm and a cruise speed of of 160kts. I’d rather have a PC12 if I had the money. But still the seastar is a very cool airplane
Im sure a few real rich guys will buy one as a ultimate toy but at 7 million apiece I doubt anybody will put one to work in a commercial capacity hauling just 12 passengers you could never pay for it.
what a money pit, I was in Vancouver 1986 and they were running around trying to take orders for this, then a test flight rolled it up in a ball landing with gear down in the water,,, 40 years and nothing to show,, where do I sign up?? disgraceful
The fuselage / hull and parasol wing , the most elegant combination .
Since I first heard of them about 20 years ago I fantasized about having one😅

That tail number though
Where/When?

It sure is!

Do 26 = Range FTW?
I want one. Now how to get the money to buy it hummm.
haha id love to own one too, or at least fly it one day!
We will be able to "fly" one in Microsoft Flight Sim 2024!
.."original design" As in Do 18?
Serious competition for 7 million. Especially when the 19 seat DHC 6 Twin Otter exists for less

A $7M plane that big has to sell to the cargo market. This plane can't carry enough to be competitive with Cessna Caravan, etc.
That looks faster than 160kts
It would be a nice liveaboard...😂
CAT wins
I'd rather buy a brand new Viking Twotter on floats than this thing.

Only the Chinese will succeed heh
I would not fly on it.
This is an old design
No sheiße 😛
