Thanks for this! My first flight in a light airplane was in a Globe Swift. Got me hooked on aviation!

I attended the 40th Globe-Swift reunion at Westover. Field in Jackson California last week. Until that time I had never heard of the Swift aircraft. I was Blown Away - what a magnificent piece of machinery! In the neighborhood of 30 planes attended and each one was a piece of art in itself.

While beautiful aircraft, I have to wonder why our AOPA dues go to pay for the production of this type of video. It can't be cheap to make.

Because it is educational to true Aviation enthusiast. I have personally rode in this Gorgeous airplane and I can assure you, normal, modern G.A. nose roller pilots would have a Blast in these birds. Many of todays G.A. pilots have no idea these Great airplanes even existed. As for the cost of these videos, I hope AOPA will continue to use part of my dues to make these type of videos. BTW...if you are ever around Athens, Tn. stop in at MMI and go through the swift museum. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

This is VERY inexpensive to make. One camera and a good video editor can do it in a couple of hours or less. The music is public domain so costs nothing. Why do you think there are thousands of videos uploaded to RUclips each day? Because a kid with an iPhone can put one together for just a little time invested. My son instructed in a SuperSwift for years and I welcome these videos.

@@renb2 This is AOPA....do you really think it cost just a few dollars? DO you think it was done on an Iphone?
I bet it cost in excess of $10K. Paid for with our dues

@@HyperSpaceProphet My son does videos professionally in LA. I've seen him do one of these with a single camera, no lighting and a lapel mic. Pop the card out and edit it in less than an hour. This is video is about a simple as they get and are very inexpensive. He uses a professional camera, but a late model iPhone has a professional output.

@@renb2 does he work for free? I doubt that this was done on an Iphone and that the production people didn't charge anything.
