Love the comment about the beached whale! I feel the same way trying to get up! You know the old saying “The mind is willing but the body is not!” As always Fitzee great work and explanations!
I've been following along with the Crusty build, and many times I think: Well! How's he going to do that? And so when you built the inside wheel tub, I thad that thought. I simply could not see how you ever be able to build and fit the outer section with the inner in place. Yet again, you demonstrated, step by step, how it's done. Amazing. It seems simple when we see you do it, and that's a testament to your skill and knowledge. I enjoy your videos very much.
Mr.Fitzee, You do impeccable work and i myself don't see where anyone should have a problem with any work that you do sir!!! Have a great weekend and GOD BLESS you and your family!!!Joe C.
I've used your piece together methods for my build and I love the speed and accuracy of doing it like that, so much faster and with a little trimming it always fits perfectly, your a fantastic teacher Tony and I appreciate every lesson, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
Love the way these tubs are coming out. Looks factory on the inside, plenty of room nest to the fender. Heck, if it wasn't a drag car you could still squeeze in a back seat for people who are real friendly.
Once again Tony you astound! Such patience and perception. Great to see a master at work. We do learn a bit here and there but will never approach your ability so watching your videos is entertainment extraordinaire. Thanks Tony you always make my day!🤓
That sure is a complicatedly shaped wheel tub, made with multiple pieces of sheet metal using templates. Nice instructional video showing how it's all done.
Loved the beached whale remark. I resemble that remark as well. I told my wife that the day I can't get up off the floor, that will be a retirement day. The wheel well came out like factory made. You are right about giving yourself the most amount of room for the tire. Great tips!
Hi Tony. Making a complex panel from several smaller pieces looks like the way to go. I don't think you could get bends for the lips unless you had a massive stamping press like they would use at the factory. I don't see any problem with using a template either. It's just a tool. If someone doesn't like it, they can use some other method. Way easier to cut posterboard than metal. Cheaper too!
Great job on fabricating the outside tube and not rounding it to give more room for tire clearance looking forward for your next video on this thumbs up 👍👍👍👍
Hey Fitzee. Happy Easter. I hope you are getting nicer weather so you can enjoy your weekend. It is around +9 here in Ontario. Great video. You are the master. I said it before, and I'll say it again, I learn something from you every time I watch your videos. All I have to do is remember what you said and did. Ha-Ha. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁
Gorgeous work! I'm attaching 71 Travelall to a Tahoe floorpan. I did much the same as you with the custom wheel wells i built. I thought i was alone in the "factory does it better" wheel wells.
Tony, you need to ask Santa for a bench shear, and good tin snips, so your don't spend so much time using up grinding discs. Another great video! Learning a lot from you. Thanks for what you do. Nice to see the green wagon project is started.
Toyota only Wishes they had wheel wells built that spacious and Sturdy! Those welded corners are much stronger than rolled sheet Tubs. Beautiful "Templating"!
To bad about the wagon.I was really looking forward to seeing you work on it. I enjoy the rust repair. Marriage will put an end to that I'm afraid. Wheel tubs are coming along . Have a good one.
Brilliant! I was wondering how you were going to do that part of the tubs. It reminds me of the saying “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”
Looks like your big freeze might be just about over, with the heat indicator (Peanut) testing the temperature of the driveway. Here in Queensland Australia, the weather has cooled down a bit from our blazing hot summer, but we've had 27 days of rain so far in March out of 30, ranging from 0.5mm (2 points) to 42mm (1 5/8") on each day. The place is like a swamp!! Makes it hard to get much done outside.
Nice Tony!!!! On my Shoebox Ford I noticed that there were dimples along the rear quarter panel. It was where the trunk floor was attached to the outside skin. I plan to do something different when I go back. Also like the wheel tubs, they are turning out nice!!
I'm getting ready to do the same thing, Fitz. You gave me another avenue to go. I'm going to do mine when I replace my 1/4 panels and open my wheel openings. My tubs are 40 inches.
Peanut doing the "back-scratch crawl" on a bare patch of the driveway. :) You still have some white stuff. Yuck. The wheel tub is a work of art, Tony. Even if you did use a template or two. ;)
Great work Fitzee 👌! I'm amazed on how quickly you can fabricate complex panels. I work on thin modern cars a quick tip for seam sealing, ms polymer sealants allow more movement so is less likely to show through the panels. Anti flutter sealant moves even more than ms sealant. Thanks for the content Fitzee !
I know you always say build all the sections in pieces fit everything together on the car then weld it together and it will fit perfectly. This video shows how that process works beautifully. A great looking tub and thank you for sharing your work and knowledge with everyone, great job. Later
Mocking up the inner tub, and that completely finished arch shape- could be the key to the other side tub, That staying put seemed important. Another great video. Thanks
Thanks for giving an explanation of the small gap between the outside of the wheel tub and the inside of the quarter panel. As you said, it was looking like it would become an inaccessible spot. I was wondering how you would keep it protected from rust and not have two panels rubbing against each other.
I remember way back in other videos that you said that you don't make templates. Things have changed. This is one job that you could not do without templates! It does depend on the job though, some jobs you don't need templates, other jobs, they are essential.
Looking good Fitzee I thought the inner wheel tub was going to be way more complicated but actually it was the simple bit 😅 nice job as always proper tidy no bodge ups 👍
Another great video, I like the condensed version. Can’t wait to see the engine install etc. Do you have a timeline for getting it track ready? Sorry about the wagon, but glad that you will now have time for your own projects!
I used 3/8” rod and made it a 5/8 circle the same size as the wheel opening to weld to the wheel opening and inner wheel well to give it strength and it doesn’t take up a ton of room for tire clearance
We all knew you would give us a master class Tony, but when you played the template card you just weaved pieces of scrap steel into gold👏
I over think stuff, trying to get ahead of myself. You make me rethink it and worry about one piece at a time. Thanks as always.
Love the comment about the beached whale! I feel the same way trying to get up! You know the old saying “The mind is willing but the body is not!” As always Fitzee great work and explanations!

Love your work. I'm a firm believer in the cardboard template. Always works like a charm.
You make it look easy! Thanks for sharing.

You are a genius with your teaching and your craftsmanship. I can not emphasise enough how much I respect what you do Tony. THE BEST!!!
Great video and Happy Easter to you and the family!
You make tough jobs so easy . time consuming no doubt, but a great outcome for complicated parts.
Great template video! We all make mistakes, glad you shared yours. All part of the process. Another great education, thanks for sharing!
Once again Tony you astound! Such patience and perception. Great to see a master at work. We do learn a bit here and there but will never approach your ability so watching your videos is entertainment extraordinaire. Thanks Tony you always make my day!🤓
it was a short one but an awesome fabrication to watch ...👍🏼🍺🍺
That sure is a complicatedly shaped wheel tub, made with multiple pieces of sheet metal using templates. Nice instructional video showing how it's all done.
I can only imagine how many hours of work you have in those , Beautiful job !

Your content keeps getting better and so does your reasonings and explanations. Really enjoying Crusty’s creation.
Awesome craftsmanship and thinking. Great to be a part of this community! Thank you Tony!!
I always wanted to do a min tub and keep factory look now I know how excellent job 👍
Another brilliant video
Gorgeous work! I'm attaching 71 Travelall to a Tahoe floorpan. I did much the same as you with the custom wheel wells i built. I thought i was alone in the "factory does it better" wheel wells.
Amazing work as usual! 👌👌👌
I'm always amazed how you manage to work on the floor, it's not easy! 💪💪💪
Tony, you need to ask Santa for a bench shear, and good tin snips, so your don't spend so much time using up grinding discs. Another great video! Learning a lot from you. Thanks for what you do. Nice to see the green wagon project is started.
I like the grinder as it dont pinch the metal
Toyota only Wishes they had wheel wells built that spacious and Sturdy! Those welded corners are much stronger than rolled sheet Tubs. Beautiful "Templating"!
Very unique and ingenious design Tony 😮
To bad about the wagon.I was really looking forward to seeing you work on it. I enjoy the rust repair. Marriage will put an end to that I'm afraid. Wheel tubs are coming along . Have a good one.
Brilliant! I was wondering how you were going to do that part of the tubs. It reminds me of the saying “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”
Looks good as always Tony, I did have to get my dictionary out to see what a template was.
Looks like your big freeze might be just about over, with the heat indicator (Peanut) testing the temperature of the driveway. Once all the metalwork and bed liner is finished on Crusty, it will be time to bring out the cavity wax to rustproof all the inner panels.
It's interesting that you wear ear muffs when welding. Personally, I prefer to hear the weld, as it helps me control the weld better.
I do that as I got hot sparks in my ears and it never good.
@@fitzeesfabrications I only ever had that happen once and I think I was under a car at the time. Never had it happen since.
I'm getting ready to do the same thing, Fitz. You gave me another avenue to go. I'm going to do mine when I replace my 1/4 panels and open my wheel openings. My tubs are 40 inches.
Nice Work! as always Fitz!
You must be number one in your professionality. I'm so impresst too see how you are fixing the car's. Best regards from Sweden! ❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent workmanship, but if you're embarrased about using a template just call it "CAD" - Cardboard Aided Design. Thanks!
Peanut doing the "back-scratch crawl" on a bare patch of the driveway. :)
You still have some white stuff. Yuck.
The wheel tub is a work of art, Tony. Even if you did use a template or two. ;)
I was thinking you were building them at the same time .. guess I was wrong.. great video
😊 Fitzee, Thank you for taking your time to go thru and explain the steps and how to re-make the replacement parts
The dastardly template! Awesome work Fitzee!
I can't wait to drive this car!
Crusty is the best build on YT I have ever seen. A 78 Corolla to boot!!! Guys with 10 million dollar shops have nothing on this man!
Awesome work as always. I am highly impressed and the tips were good
I.m anxious to see the other side wheel well, I presume that it will need correction in regard to the driver's side wheelwell
very well done
Loving these tub videos, very helpful info thank you Fitzee.

WoW Anti Flutter....8^)
Tony, the phrases you come out with are so funny.
I know you always say build all the sections in pieces fit everything together on the car then weld it together and it will fit perfectly. This video shows how that process works beautifully. A great looking tub and thank you for sharing your work and knowledge with everyone, great job. Later

Looking great Fitzee ! Still my favourite build on YT .
Great one as always Tony !
Lots of thinking and planing went into that tub. Smart decisions were made good job Tony 👍👍
Fantastic work Tony!
Nice work ,im just amazed ! Thanks for inspiring!
The best communication skills on the tube.
That is a masterpiece of work
Very clean wheel tubs. I never liked the tubs that just weld to the quarter. Great work Tony!!
Thank you very much. Extremely useful detailing.
Thanks for giving an explanation of the small gap between the outside of the wheel tub and the inside of the quarter panel. As you said, it was looking like it would become an inaccessible spot. I was wondering how you would keep it protected from rust and not have two panels rubbing against each other.
Cutting the job up into smaller jobs is awesome. You made it look kinda easy. Templates!
Tips were indeed good. Thanks again
That looks tight , maybe you won"t have to waff the door to get the tire smoke out .
That's the plan
I learn so much from you Tony, it’s unreal. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Great job! From my perspective, it looks like you will have a sharp edge on the outer side of your tire on the inner wheel well.
Yes and I will be cutting that back and dressing that edge.
Awesome stuff yet again
Great job Tony
Your wheel well looks "better than factory!"
Fitz - tuck some round pieces of foam between the outer tub and 1/4.
Nice work, I'm getting from this one template is not a bad word.
The tips are good.......real good.
Good show Fitzee.
this is going to be a really nice car
Another great job
Another great video, I like the condensed version. Can’t wait to see the engine install etc. Do you have a timeline for getting it track ready? Sorry about the wagon, but glad that you will now have time for your own projects!
Buttoned up nice!
happy easter tony
You've got a good selection of different clamps there. Looks like you bought some specially for Crusty, as a lot of them look new.
I relearn to just do 1 thing at a time when I watch these videos.
Great video.
just like factory 👍👍😎👍👍
great job, many thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Well done
I used 3/8” rod and made it a 5/8 circle the same size as the wheel opening to weld to the wheel opening and inner wheel well to give it strength and it doesn’t take up a ton of room for tire clearance
Fantastic ❤❤❤
Nice job
great job
Pretty neat!
Inspector lying down on the job. LOL.
Well done and greetings from Germany
Yours Frank
Tips were good, and the beached whale jokes were funny. Thanks!
Got a lot of questions. How much time you got?😂
Great work as usual!
Beautiful work ❤
Tony's new nickname is the template king
