I don’t know what I like more. The insights on how you do stuff or the fact that you explain what you do in your wonderful british accents.
I can’t help but I think I’m just in love with your combination of being so amazing at what you do and at the same time so down to earth.
I have my essential D now for about two and a half months after talking to Alister about what I would need and I couldn’t be happier. She’s called Katie and she inspires and pushes me in exactly the way I hoped she would.
Thanks for building these masterpieces. 💜

We hope Katie and you have a very long and happy relationship together ❤️ 🎸

Love to see the constant effort to refine and optimise the whole process. I don't even play acoustic guitar yet but knowing how much care goes into your product (and the fact it's UK made) means you're top of my aspirational list

Strip pine? Is that like your hardware store pine over in the uk? And you guys just mill it to get quartered pieces?

Essentially yes Adrian… our timber merchant is very good to us and picks out the quartered stock for us 👍

Well that’s good to know.... saves me trying to chase down spruce. Plenty of pine here in OZ. Are you shaping your braces lighter or basically the same as you would for spruce. Just thinking in terms of weight. Not a huge difference between the two but.

What are those clips you use on the soundboard to align the braces? I’d love to implement those into my builds here in the US.

Are you tuning your tops and braces? Thanks

Hi David, no we don’t tune our tops. We go on feel. When we thickness our tops we flex them to see how stable they are and then we adjust them accordingly. Because all of our tops are baked they come out of the oven sounding more lively then before they went in. I think repeating this for so many years and keeping notes on what sounds good has helped us to control our tune. 👍🪕
