Totally worth it. I used solid vaseline and then liquid vaseline with a tiny brush and came out perfect. I removed excess and its a lot faster, smoother and quieter. Not quiet, but quieter.
@@freshcustomsYT I've read about that, but I use Vaseline in plastics and everything for years, Idk if its because its Dental Vaseline or what. But I like the way it went.

Hi there GavAttack0, if you watched the video from start to end, you would have had your question answered. Review the video from minutes 1:42 to 1:46... Question answered buddy.
@@freshcustomsYT I do see that you have used Lithium Grease in this instance but I've also heard that lithium grease could cause problems with some plastics. How well has it held up in your case?
@GavAttackO It's been a few years now. No issues. Honestly. I have no reason to spread lies. I love this wheel. I've had a few. but i just love this wheel.
Hi there ChristoGamer Qc. The DFGT wheel is gear driven, so you cant expect to totally get rid of the sound it makes. Hence the title... Logitech Driving Force GT "Noise Reduction". Perhaps invest in a belt driven wheel? or later versions of the geared system?
Hi! I suddenly noticed the wheel getting too stiff and loud, like I can hear and feel the teeth of the gears.... the wheels offers a lot of resistance and the motor has a hard time moving it. Could this be a solution? I just checked the inside but I couldn't figure out which part is causing the problem. Thanks and sorry if the question is out of topic!
Hi there Martin, could be a number of things causing the issue. I got a similar question recently. You can definitely try and see if it does make a difference it wouldn't hurt to try. Could be the Motor? maybe starting to seize? could be the bearing? you could also try greasing up the bearing. All the best with solving the problem.
Do you know if there is any third-party software to replace the old 2010 driver? Some of the features will work sometimes but not always. I have tried reinstalling it, but always get the same outcome.
Hi there Santos, If you are referring to the DFGT Wheel then unfortunately not. I've been using Software Version: 5.10.127 Last Update: 2010-03-30 with no issues.
I used the same grease and now my wheel is stiff after a few days of no use (it was fine when i applied the grease the improvement was massive) but now the wheel won't even center properly it's that stiff
Hi there, That's so strange... It's most probably an issue that was upcoming. Also, check the motor and the bearing. Very strange. My wheel and many other uses are still working brilliantly. im actually busy with another upgrade for the wheel... a little sim dash mod. All the best with finding the issue retrace your steps, perhaps.
Static! The big myth plaguing the electrical world like a gimmick! In my 20 years as an electrician working on everything from cars to semi trucks to household wiring to cell towers to building & fixing circuit boards from pc, playstation, tv, stereos, headphones, basically everything you could shove a current through and I've never damaged anything with static! Nor have i heard of anyone I've worked with causing damage due to static! It's like people that say practicing driving a manual in a turned off car is damaging the clutch lmao!!
The thing is this... We all release/build up different amounts of static electricity.... also depending on our environments, clothing, etc. Rather safe than sorry. Question.... Out of the entire video, you just feel the need to comment on my static safety warning? Look, you are welcome to do things your way, my friend. to each his own. From my experience in IT for many years too... I've seen many motherboards damaged because of static build-up... it's all about the situation. So my point is... You do you... the main thing to take away is the fact that the video is reaching many people in many different situations and surroundings... and once again, as I said... Rather safe than sorry.
Electrical Engineer here. You are wrong and this is very bad information. ESD damage isn't visible to the naked eye, nor are its symptoms always instant. Please educate yourself before spreading misinformation.
Its significant noise reduction, especially during gameplay... Keep in mind it's a GEAR system, not a belt or direct drive... this simply helps to REDUCE! the gear noise. NOT eliminate it.

Anyways, there's a reason why people still use DFGTs to this day, and I'm one of them. Great wheel. Thanks for the tutorial, will apply your technique!
The Logitech Driving Force GT is from 2008 meanwhile the Thrustmaster TX RW is from 2015. Also, there's a difference in FFB systems. The DFGT (Driving Force GT) is driven by straight cut gears, which is where the majority of the noise comes from. The Thrustmaster uses a belt drive system. The point of this is to avoid buying a new wheel, some people don't have the money or can't update due to game support. The DFGT works on the PS2, PS3, and PC. The Thrustmaster you are limited to Xbox One and PC (well now Xbox Series X as well, but that came later). Going back to money, the DFGT is MUCH cheaper than the TX RW. I'm about to purchase one for $13, can't get anywhere near that with a TX RW unless its completely nonfunctional.
