- In this video I show how I made a folding bed with 600 lbs drawer slides for my van conversion. My van is Ford E350 Econoline converted to 4x4. Making a bed out 600 lbs drawer slides makes it easy to fold up into a couch or a bed.

Your Primal Outdoors - Camping and Overlanding, I am living the van life in my Ford E350 4x4 Van traveling around the remote public land system in Oregon Хобби
Very clever, Mr. Bond, very clever….
That's a professional piece of furniture! Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Great idea!
Love the build videos. Keep them coming
Nice work on that bed, Jason.
Sweet dreams.
Very precise woodworking...Great job Jason... very nice...
I don’t know that it was very precise, lol but I am happy with the way it turned out
Well done…
Awesome. Thank you.
I enjoy your videos whatever the subject matter is!
( …and seeing sweet Daisy, of course🧡)
Nice build Jason. Skillet
Just saw a video the other day installing drawer slides. They put a piece of 1/4” luan under the drawer to shim it up. Now if I can just remember that for the next time I need to build drawers. Love the videos! Keep them coming!
Yay!
Jason, you're a very talented man. I especially like the fact that you do so many of your projects yourself, rather than just writing a check for someone else to do it. Being self-sufficient is an admirable trait.
Thanks Jim with having a space to work I have been trying to do more projects myself even if they are outside my comfort level.
Too bad you don't do this for a living. Your designs are really cool.
I like it. I might consider that design. I'm building out a E250 van.
Glad it gave you some ideas
Good work man!
really cool... good job
I'm jealous of your workshop. Thanks for the tip on the keg tools
Ha. I’m drinking a Pub Beer right now!
That does sound tasty
That storage building is perfect. I don’t guess there is much thieves in your erea
It's a fairly small community and the storage building is fenced.
Nice bed buildout.👍
I’ve been stuck trying to figure out how to buildout a bed in my Ford 350 Econoline Van.
It’s not a square box.
The back tapers in a bit and throws everything off.
I need the length of the bed to be from back to front (like yours) as I’m to tall to sleep on a bed laid out across the Van from passenger to driver side.
I think I can build something similar to your build that won’t eat up interior real estate.
Perfect timing 🎉
Very nice work. Really great idea. 👍.
Thank You
What up Jason🤙🏻😎
I enjoy pretty much all your content whether you're building a bed, doing more vlog-style features, or full on cinematic epics. It's all good!
Thanks Terry I really appreciate it.
I love this, hope you have more vids detailing how you built your van. I'm especially interested in how you set up your studs and cladding.
Nice job Jason every thing looks cool and well made, be safe.🙋♂️🙋♂️
Thank You
Fyi, there is recall on certain Dewalt miter saws. Mine was affected, they send you some parts so you can fix it yourself.
Thanks I will have to check into that
Jason, nice design and great job making it!
Thank you
Very cool. I gotta say I love your van but for one thing... it's a Ford lol.. sorry I am a dedicated Chevy man. But I was thinking about the roof and I totally agree with the decision you made. After all it's your van lol. But I was watching Down2mob... and his new camper conversion. Which made me think of your van. Instead of a high top conversion. A custom roof such as on Phil's camper conversion. It could be built light and strong/ridged enough to have the current rack and items on it. Then using the same scissor jack system. It can be raised and lowered the same way. The same as his system. Allowing it to be down when traveling and raised when you setup camp. Providing you additional headroom and keeping the same capacity on top and no additional height issues. Plus you can keep the decor the same on the inside. Just a thought is all... certainly not cheap I'm sure. But it would be a cool conversion to push a button and raise the roof and then lower it back to the original height for traveling. No center of gravity issues or wind issues or from a fixed taller roof height.
Hello Jason , thumbs UP!
Love the simplicity of this setup
Thank you
I honestly love these raw cut how to videos jason. Keep up the good work!
I am glad you enjoyed it
FYI do you know about the recall from Dewalt on their chop saws?
I didn’t I will check into it
Love this!!!! Such a creative and still simple design that can be easily maintenanced and used. This is inspiring! Always enjoy your content since way back...Thanks for keeping on!
I am very glad you liked it. You have been a subscriber for 4 years that is a good amount of time, thanks so much for the support.
Awesome creativity! Good job with the new folding bed / drawers! Definitely wish I had carpentry skills like you! #overlanding
Just curious. Where did you get your drawer slides? Btw, love the videos!
Thanks for the video. I may have missed it but what are your plans for the space between the bed and the stove?
Sitting on that small box looks uncomfortable?
I won’t be doing anything with that space because it would block the drawer from coming out.
I am really curious about Megan's Diesel fuel tank. Basically the capacity and where it is under the van. I am building a 7.3 Ambo, it has tank behind the axle, but I would like to add a second tank midship.
Is the weight resting on the slide outs or is the wood of the drawers resting on the ledge under it on both sides? (new here, don't known if those ledges are from old bed or still used by new one.)
Decked makes a drawer system for your rig.
Been looking at the decked system myself for my 2021 ZR2!
I don’t think their drawer system would be the right direction for my build
@@PrimalOutdoors I agree, I like this idea a lot!
Great idea Jason and Beautiful build. My only concern is that repetitive sliding of the board under the mattress is going to take its toll on either your linen or mattress ay? Could you make lids for the drawers instead. The tiny drop at the end of your feet should matter none.
Cool video The helicopter scene....lol
Thank you
why you dint install an higtop just for more confort inside?
I have a whole video on that check it out
@@PrimalOutdoors i am going to check it out thanks for the answer have a nice day
👍👍👍👍👍
Nice! You moved pretty fast in that video, I could use some of those drugs, lol. I didn't see when you were making the bed at the end of the video what made the mattress go up towards the ceiling by the rear doors?
Its a trifold mattress it just folds there.
