Interesting....🤔 I got braces recently, and my neck has been acting up lately. I didn't even think of the possibility that the two were connected. I'll definitely be looking into this. You learn something new everyday😅
This makes so much sense. When I had braces I would randomly wake up sometimes with no mobility in my neck, like I literally couldn’t move my head for 24 hrs. It was crazy but luckily it only happened a few times in 2 years of wearing braces and it hasn’t happened since removing them
There’s a muscle connected to your mastoid bone, the sternocleidomastoid (scm) which then connects to your clavicle and sternum and runs down the side of your neck, so if your jaw is trying to readjust it’d definitely affect that, plus, the pain of that rearranging would most likely cause you to clench your teeth at night or during the day and again, affect that muscle. If you can find a diagram showing where it connects (should be right under your ear on the bony bit but double check for exact placement) massaging that would probably help relieve some of the tension.

It's not the teeth themselves. It's the way you hold your jaw and tongue, if you keep those muscles tense for example, by clenching your jaw (often unconsciously) all the muscles in your neck and head and even back can be affected. Sometimes teeth can be in the way of people holding their jaw properly relaxed, or a retainer or braces get in the way, or stress makes people clench their jaw in their sleep etc etc.

I got Invisalign to close it when I was fifteen, but looking at how much Dakota embraces this and says she somewhat misses it just makes me feel like maybe I didn’t need to be embarrassed to smile or let others opinions about myself influence me so young.

I had the opposite experience. I had a permanent retainer to close my gap. One day while eating a lollipop it broke lol. And my gap came back lol. Not as wide as before so I actually like it now. 🤣🤓
Some ppl have said that depending on how the orthodontist puts them on or even adjusts them as time goes on it can create gaps or close them depending on what they’re focusing on fixing. My had 2 different retainers because I have TMJ and it wasn’t supposed to move my teeth but it did and caused me a heck of a lot of pain so I just didn’t wear it anymore.
Yes Jimmy, if you've got something that's pushing your teeth into/through the bone in your jaw for (in her case years), it can cause among other things neck pain. I have pretty traumatic memories of my years with braces, being slowly tortured day and day out.
Still have my bottom retainer. Nobody will take it off no matter how many people I ask. I don’t really understand what the big deal is, if after 15 years my teeth still need a retainer, then there was no point to getting them adjusted to begin with.
That's somewhat common because one of the nerves sensing, I think, muscle strain goes underneath the piece of the lower jaw that goes up past the upper jaw.
I have a gap between my teeth and I'm really insecure about it. Like I can't show my tooth smile in photos. I'm getting better tho, and Dakota is one of the people who inspired me to be more confident about my teeth. Gap or no gap, she's beautiful.❤
I used to too. Was told I'd have it for the rest of my life, but after the second time it came off I just left it off. Still got the glue on my teeth lol. Anyway, years later I told a dentist this and he said we shouldn't have such a thing as teeth are meant to move a bit as you age. Made me lose faith in these expensive orthodontists tbh. So, you should definitely get some different opinions about yours, especially with your pain. Apparently it's not natural to have your teeth stuck in the same position for life. (I'm meant to wear a retainer every night too but.. oops. I'll just use invisilign or something one day 🤭).

@@spongebob8445 More people who have braces have experienced the neck pain than not. But it’s definitely all connected and braces just makes it worse😭
I actually used to have a gap between my front two teeth and when I saw celebrities with it like Demi, it made me proud to have that. But eventually the gap closed itself but I still remember the confidence it gave me to see celebrities have the same teeth problems as me 😊
Yep, one thing I learned from having TMJ Disorder after getting braces, is that the fascia (muscle fibers) in our muscle tissue are all interconnected in intricate ways that can be seemingly unexpected. Having some leg pain? It could be related to a recent shoulder injury. Having some neck pain? It could be related to a recent jaw injury (such as in the video). Crazy stuff. I don’t struggle with TMJ Disorder anymore because I started stretching all parts of my body, which in turn let all those fascia heal and become harmonious throughout my body! I also made sure to balance my diet so I was getting all the vitamins and nutrients my body needed to heal and combat inflammation. If you have TMJD please don’t fall in the trap of taking NSAIDS. They aren’t helpful and triggered a stomach ulcer for me. Try to stretch and get enough nutrients before getting stuck in NSAIDS! There is hope to get better. I know how painful and exhausting it is. I honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone. As always make sure to tell your doctor about your situation before making any major diet and physical changes!

... AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHY THEY PAY HER THE BIG BUCKS (as an actor)_ cause this is str8 BS
Uh how? posture/neck muscles are absolutely related to your jaw/teeth jaw/teeth . Not sure what bs you’re referring to? 🧐
What?!? I did the same thing and my teeth closed the front gap, too
@@Mmeeks187 You're 150% correct
I just love her. She grew up with money, and famous parents from the start, but this gal is more down to earth than 90% of other actresses
Yes Jimmy, if you've got something that's pushing your teeth into/through the bone in your jaw for (in her case years), it can cause among other things neck pain. I have pretty traumatic memories of my years with braces, being slowly tortured day and day out.
What is the meaning of shock a con? I am searching it everywhere but I can’t find anything.
I have that! I have a permanent retainer and my dentist refuses to remove it. Maybe it’ll help my neck pain!! 😆
One thing is sure that .She really good in making up or cooking up stories .
Absolutely love her! She has the sweetest laugh
Bruh sometimes im surprised that people don’t understand our pain of having problems with our teeth
It’s weird that her teeth made headlines tho. 😳 Like, there are way more newsworthy things to write about.
Never thought of that!🤔🤔🤔
Still have my bottom retainer. Nobody will take it off no matter how many people I ask. I don’t really understand what the big deal is, if after 15 years my teeth still need a retainer, then there was no point to getting them adjusted to begin with.
“Shock a con” …. girl …..
Chaka khan ?
@@lolli2943 yes I figured that was the pun!
@@iknownothing8829 i don’t get it though.. what was she saying
what was we tryna get across with that? i get the reference but i don’t
Ooh ok. Sure. Gaps don't fuse back together.
Yea they do ! 🤦🏻♀️
Your teeth will shift and cause a gap to close. And can also cause you to have a gap!
It’s happened to a friend of mine 🤷♀️ I’m no orthodontist though
They do. Mine did.
Actually they do lmfao mine closed when I was in 5th grade 💀
Yeah cool so helpful my friend❤❤🎉🎉 I wll .ake it if u guys help in your recitation
That's somewhat common because one of the nerves sensing, I think, muscle strain goes underneath the piece of the lower jaw that goes up past the upper jaw.
Her voice is so tempting
I have a gap between my teeth and I'm really insecure about it. Like I can't show my tooth smile in photos. I'm getting better tho, and Dakota is one of the people who inspired me to be more confident about my teeth.
Gap or no gap, she's beautiful.❤
Guys, chacka khan. It’s chacka khan. She’s a singer.
Thank god someone else got it besides me
I was looking for this comment. “Shocka con”? That doesn’t even makes sense. But I guess many young people don’t know who Chaka khan is
Everytime I see an interview of Dakota, I like her even more.
She is so super cute and cool 👏 👏
I CANT UNSEE IT!! someone said she looks like she’s about to cry when she talks and she does 😢 no hate she is so sweet
Makes perfect sense to me. I’m confused as to why Jimmy is confused🙄
Everything's connected Jimmy!
O M G !
Im not sad about the closing of your diastima
Medical terminology?
OMG!!! That totally makes sense!!! My jaw, neck and head are always sore… I have a permanent retainer behind my lower teeth!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯😱
Your an amazing women. I love the books and you grew and helped your husband that you needed each other . Been through that .
you're... woman...
I've always had a gap... all my boyfriends told me NOT to close it that it was sexy...
“Is that a thing?”
Jimmy wouldn’t ever know that it is a thing because all he does is flaunt his teeth all along to showcase his fake laughs that he’s known for!
I love how everyone is so shocked about the neck fact😭 proves that a lot of people haven’t had braces
Ive had braces for a good portion of my life and i never heard of the neck thing. Though i know that alot of things are connected, especially the nerves from teeth/gums
@@spongebob8445 More people who have braces have experienced the neck pain than not. You’re just one of the lucky ones😅 I’ve had jaw pain and since my jaw is connected to my ear, the hearing in my left ear has gone out quite a few times. I’m having jaw surgery soon. But it’s definitely all connected and braces just makes it worse😭
@@changbin1930 Holy shit. I've had braces and didn't know it could be that bad.
@@AMATCHALATTE Yeahh😅
I had them and have permanent retainers and never heard of it.
I just love this woman🥰she’s gorgeous and funny🤣😅
I actually used to have a gap between my front two teeth and when I saw celebrities with it like Demi, it made me proud to have that. But eventually the gap closed itself but I still remember the confidence it gave me to see celebrities have the same teeth problems as me 😊
Yep, my jaw and neck pain are also connected to my migraines too.... All connected.
Why The Fuck Would They Give Her A Retainer With Gapped Teeth?
I had a gap too, well into my teens…it closed slowly on it’s own, as well.💁🏻♀️
Cranio Sacral Therapists and Osteopaths sitting here like "well yeah, it's a thing!!" 😂❤
Shaka con
Shaka khan
I’m glad someone else noticed this 🤣
