- Abhishek Borkar was the first featured artiste on Day One of the FEA-curated CROSSROADS festival. He opened his recital with Raag Bhimpalasi. He was accompanied by Pt. Arvind Azad on tabla. Tanpura support was provided by Siddharth Shukla.
Maihar, Baba Alauddin, Ali Akbar's influence all over - similar mastery, depth, diversity, approach and wholesomeness. Finally someone to look forward to see blossom. Carry on Abhishek, this rich tradition. Far far superior than the glamorous, star sarod kids, how rigorous taalim makes such a difference.
After a long time got this opportunity to listen to Raag Bhimpalasi in its Shuddha Bhav, which in my understanding Devotion, Meditation, Prayer and Spiritual Bliss. Thank you Abhishek Borkar for bringing out the true spirit of Bhimpalasi. God Bless You.

Amazing sarod but Tabla kept on bothering me. Not so good sangat.
Me also, table is to loud.
May be an issue with sound mixing that the tabla seems more intrusive and loud.
Tabla over-amplified in the beginning but seems like volume was adjusted.

Pls note that now a days tabla is not only for accompanyment.....tabalia is also a performer to the crowd ..
He is paly8ng pure banaras gharana and perfect sangat...
but i agree that the table mike was a bit louder..

I think tabla is a bit sharper than the tonic B (Sa).
Azad is one show off! But boy can he play!
An otherwise beautiful rendering of the Sarod has been thoroughly -sabotaged by the Tabala firstly not being proprly tuned and secondly by by the tabalji virtually being -literally on his own.. AN accompanying artist has to be complementing the main artist.. and not try and display his prowess out of turn !!
Undoughtately fine playing in sur/laya/ragdaari.....but sorry to say can't find maihar seniya gharana style( if he claim that) ...but almost style and influenced by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan Sahib
He plays a style called Tarankar Baaj developed by his father Pt. Shekhar Borkar.
