I wish I could have lived in the old Mobile. It used to be a beautiful place.

I doubt it unless you white racism was heavy back then can’t imagine all the black people that got hanged by all those trees in Mobile

@@Stunt877why do you people have to be negative about everything! Yes, it happened and it happened everywhere! Even the North! So stop with the stigma on the south! You people who attack the past are just ridiculous, uneducated fools.

There have been the planting of trees in the medians of some the corridors around over past 20 years or so and it has helped. Plus the pollution of the paper mills is no longer with us. It is really nice not to have to smell all of that throughout the entire area.

This does have the look of late '50s/early '60s. The narrator, though, refers to girls coming from 50 states to the Junior Miss Pageant. In 1958 there were only 48 states, so I think this must be from 1960 or '61. I'm just a nerd for history, though. I enjoyed you bringing this to us.

This video must have been made in the early to mid 1960's if the people had automatic dishwashers in their homes. Homes that had automatic dishwashers in the early 1960's were probanly brand new homes in brand new high dollar suburban neighborhood. Automatic dishwashers didn't really start making it into average American kitchens until the late 1960's or early 1970's.

If I was gonna live in Alabama, I'd live in Mobile. Considering it's a port city, I would suspect it 's more accepting of all persuasions of people compared to the rest of Alabama. Most port cities are.

So to recap you can thank Mobile for both the Revolution and Civil war,Mardi Gras, Torpedoes, Submarines, Shopping centers, soda fountains, Pharmacys, home delivery, and Forbes 😮. Also protecting old oaks through city design down to rail roads. They keeep trying to cut down historical Oak trees now for bigger roads for semi truck 😢🤦
