    Please tell that what are the skills required for to become a dba

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад +1

      Asutosh Nayak Hi,
      For a DBA, I would say try getting a hold on HIVE or sql is a must. Pyspark will help too. You should be aware how to run stored procedures, debug them and the list goes on. You’d need to learn more about database designing, metadata, data integrity and courses are different for this role.

    Thank you so much for this helpful video mam, I need some help in choosing subject in my first semester in analytics I am also planning to study analytics from neu but I am from different background. So could you suggest me or give me some advice what subjects to choose as I have no knowledge in this field. And once again thank you so much for your videos.

    Hey, the video is informative. Thanks!
    I have a question here. When we enter a company for doing a real-time project, are there any extra concerns that need to be considered (anything based on your experience) apart from learning the skills you mentioned in the video?

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад +2

      Rashmi Nambiar Honest answer is yes! There is a lot to learn beyond what I mentioned too but this should be a good start. Idk which role you are more interested in but to get started whatever I mentioned should create a good base for you.

    Is data analyst and business analyst job are the same

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад +1

      Asutosh Nayak It is a generic understanding that data analyst as compared to business analyst job would be more on tech and coding side whereas business analyst would be someone with some tech knowledge and more on business and domain side. Having said that they are similar roles and it would completely depend on the company you apply for. There are many companies that have business analysts do tableau dashboards as well as ab testing. I would say these roles are similar but every company defines them their own way.

    I'm switching to Data Analytics from a Marketing background to become a Marketing Analyst. Should I be learning AI and ML too? Or just the Stats, Maths, Python, R and other tools enough?

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад

      Hey Rishab, it would depend on what your interests are. A data analyst profile is similar to marketing or sales data analysts but if you are looking for roles like data scientist in marketing field then yes you’d have to learn machine learning. I always say extra knowledge doesn’t hurt :)
      For marketing analyst role you might not require AI and ML knowledge in most cases.

    • @FellowBrownie

      I haven't seen it to be a problem at all, also, since you did your masters from the US, you'll be a part of the H-1B cap or the quota reserved students who did masters from USA. ~Mayank

      Christela Elizabeth Varghese Hi,
      Yes absolutely there were many students in my batch from economics background but you will have to combine stats knowledge to build some foundation.

    Is it possible for person who is studying ms in analytics get a software job (able to transitions between data field and software field)

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад

      Absolutely yes but your past experience and projects should match with software engineering. You might get asked in interviews as to why are you transitioning from data to SE. having said that there are companies who hire people with data analytics major in SE but it’s rare.
      It completely depends on your knowledge and skills specific to SE. I would recommend you do majors in CS and take course specific to data in order to fulfil your goal.

    Will i able to take courses during my 6 months co-op? Is it easier to manage both?

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад

      I would take a lighter course while on co-op, prefer not taking a coursework that’s hard. I took a experiential learning course ( where you work on a company’s data and build a small lightweight model) that was doable along with co-op.

    Hello, Great video, I just wanted to know that if I want a job as a Data Scientist, Is it really required for me to master the data structures.

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад

      Mastering data structures will help in writing better code. Although I have linked a Python course by google in description and if you can complete that with examples things might come easy. Concept of dictionaries, lists, arrays should be really clear.

    Can ms in analytics get a job in aws as cloud engineer?

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад

      I am not an expert in aws cloud engineering field but my answer would be no. It’s better you pick majors in CS or IS as those course work would align more with cloud engineering.
      If you still want to pursue data analytics and get into cloud engineering, you might have to take up certification courses from aws.

    Is the salary range for a starting data scientist without (phd) same as software engineer?

    • @FellowBrownie
      @FellowBrownie  4 года назад

      Ravikanth Hi,
      Salaries are almost in the same range, again it’s very subjective to the company you apply for but a beginner level for software engineer and data scientist salary would be on the same scale.
