I have the RD-9 and TR-09. I use this combo, to achieve a classic TR-909 workflow, because the TR-09 sequencer is identical and a little better than the original. RD-9 has that wave designer filter that changes a lot of things in the sounds and you can route them to make things sound dirtier or darker. I love this! and to do that with the original I need a mixer with FX or analog Moog pedals. Ok, the RD9 has an analog filter and distortion, and the analog sounds sound very clean and strong, the sound is very close to the NAVA replica. RD-9 has no source noise on the audio channels. TR-09 is the one I like the most, it is the coolest one for making 24 bit 48khz recordings, it is a 24 bit 48khz sound card and it records sounds at 24bit 48khz, it is the only digital machine that has an audio input to connect another machine and record audio in 24 bit 48khz. It also has some sounds with pitch detuning, it's great to vary something else. The compressor works with the accent and the general volume and the gain parameter that can have a maximum of +200 gain. Depending on how you manipulate the total accent and the master volume everything can sound more RAVE, Hard house, hard techno, hardcore, 90s underground hard trance... And for hiphop it is also great, when I use the RD-9 with the TR-09 sequencer with the pattern chaining tricks, it has 16 chains of 16 steps, the song mode is really very useful to use the TR-09 with the RD -9. I know it's annoying to use one USB plug with TR-09 and another one with the RD-9, but I can also use 4 batteries to avoid that to use only MIDI. TR-09 is also great for sequencing third-party plugins, things from Reaktor, Logic Pro, and Appleloops samplers or drum kits. It is a small Swiss army knife, it is the one of the 3 that can do it with a USB cable and batteries. That's why it's my favorite, and the sound is really good, it's compact in the mix and it won't have a inperfect and unstable bass ball like the TR-909. Thanks for the video, it was fun to watch. 😅👍
@@wackerburg not sure wackerburg all i know is 2 were bought months apart in 1985 and the dead one not sure when that was bought its japanese import the guy i got it off put 230 volts in it instead of japan's 110 or 117v or whatever they use, i have a power supply for it but aint in a rush to repair ir, as its not needed,
The boutique sounds like a wet fart. I know because I had one for all of a month. Owned 2 different original 909’s over the years. Both sounded different from eachother. Currently have the rd9. Does the job for me until I win the lottery and can afford another original…
Great video, thanks
I bet the behringer has the most updated features and best bang for the buck. Just my 0.02$ 💴
fact
i love my 909, which i've owned since 1988, but i bought the rd-9 three times and i don't regret it!
Well done my namesake! Amazing pattern programming! I'd prefer the TR-909 :)
09 rocks small form factor i trk it and it has that mulled wine dampened feel like the og. great vid mate.
nice comparison. I think the OG still sounds the the best, but Behringer might have made the better new version!
I think so

Thanks by the way so did you know that the TR 09 taste like a toy. The 909 is very old. It was Made 41 years ago that is crazy!
@@RAFAELRGH It does look like a very professional toy and more advanced than a TR-909. 🤣👍👍
I liked the mini 09 one
Why is that? I don't know any real reason! Simply everything about the toy is wrong!
@@michaelmueller9816 i didn't know it was a toy.. i was just going off of the sound on the video..
Yeah that TR-09 is my favourite one too
@@RAFAELRGH ok, it sounds a lot like samples and feels like a toy, but tastes differ.
@@michaelmueller9816 yeah it does taste like a toy
I prefer the 909. Could possibly also be an RE-909 or SR-909, since both are very similiar to the OG Roland unit.
Same I prefer the 909 and the 808
i own 3 roland tr909's number 1 and 2 sound different the 3rd one is dead and my rd9 sounds like my 909 number 2
@@johnblissington5265Interesting :) Do you know which revisions you have? I like the earlier ones better in regards of sound.
