Testfit was around $6000 US per year - As an architect working over 15 years in early phase design (res & commercial projects ranging anywhere between 5 and 500 million), I was not able to meaningfully integrate it into the workflow. It had a bunch of promising features but in my 3-4 sessions of test use was not able to really harness enough value beyond traditional software use. It's exciting to have quantities, areas, and costs bundled in the parametric design process along with some rapid typology prototyping, however for higher fidelity and nuance needed in early stage It fell short of Revit + scripts or Sketchup combined with excel.

Interesting to hear. These AI apps will always be evolving (both in terms of capabilities and price!). Always worth trailling the other options out there aswell to compare. I think the most successful AI layout apps will be the ones which integrate well with revit/ rhino to allow the architect to get that extra finetuning needed.

I had a similar experience with Testfit. It did do a good job of laying out floor plans and building massings but that was with tutorials mainly from their staff. The software was a bit quirky, and not quite as user friendly as I would have like when you ran into an issue. That was 2 years ago and I'm sure they've made improvements. The software seems very promising with cost estimations, floor plan layouts, parking design, massing, etc. and I hope they have worked out some of the kinks since I've last used them. Open to trying them again as it would save massive amounts of time and money.

It is difficult to get an accurate pricing on these apps since they are always updating and some are still in beta so just focused on the functionallity in this video. But good point, will consider adding a dated comparison table in the future videos!
