This week I realized that I probably just can’t do one video a week. It’s CRAZY how 7 days go so fast! With a full time job, I literally can write the script on day 1, record on day 2, edit on days 3 and 4 (it’s my bottleneck but I’m still stuck caring about how things look and my recordings are maybe still too long … newbie mistakes), post on day 5, REST ON DAY 6. I literally can’t even stand THINKING about youtube once I’ve posted a video! Also, I’ve been really beating myself up about PROMOTING these videos. So my latest strategy for staying consistent will be to commit ONLY to RUclips until I gain traction there. If PInterest and social doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen. I’m just going to trust all my eggs in this one basket for now.

PS - batching sounds great, and I’ve tried it but it just isn’t good for my psyche. I edit easier and better when I’ve just recorded and written. I know they say the brain works better on just one task, but so long as I do the different tasks on the different days I’m ok.

I agree just started my channel at over 40 with a full time job! It’s been fun though. 🎉

love this. i'm new to YT (4 videos, 8 shorts), but realized just last week that I can't film post, film post, so I made a 3 month content plan this weekend, started scripting part of it already. there's no way to stay consistent without it. thanks for the helpful tips as always!

Fail to plan, plan to fail is what I live by! It just takes some time to get your routine down but don’t give up on it. It won’t be easy at first but the more you stick to it, the better you will get at it

😂😂Yes exactly. Yard crews and trains!?
I find that even if I’m not thrilled about recording at that moment, not long after I start I get into it and then it’s easier to do the next one!!

I have too many ideas, I fim a lot, but I’m always way behind with Canva presentations and editing. I should block more time for those time consuming tasks and don’t do anything else during that time. Thank you for helping me seeing that clearly. 👍

Thanks Trena for the advice! I’ve been a binge consumer like many others, now I have mentally shifted to being a binge producer thanks to this video. 6-month content strategy? Time to get to work!

Loved these tips! What’s your recommendation for artists creating speed drawing tutorials and need the art done in order to film? This part is stumping me because I can’t batch my artwork and each piece takes me anywhere from 8-12 hours 😅🙏🏻

Have youtube changed their algorithm again? I noticed channels with a decent subscriber count views are down by over 90 percent lately.
