Angie, you have created another restored masterpiece. I love the dark stain over a lighter one. It gives the desk a regal air, which is befitting of such a noble piece. I was happy that you were able to reuse the hardware on the drawers and use the magnetic latches for the doors. Overall a stunning transformation !

I do a lot of full restorations but sometimes a bit of paint on lesser quality wood (and especially plastic laminate coated wood, or Formica) can keep something structurally sound from being tossed just because it’s a bit rough or dated cosmetically. But I like to restore certain woods whenever possible. 🙂

I'm generally against push-latches (they're usually a cheap cop-out from finding appropriate hardware)...but the reasoning behind using them in this instance was perfection! It allowed you to use the original, beautiful hardware and actually emphasized the verticality of the cabinet veneer. Gorgeously done faux bois work, as well!!!

I’ve mentioned before that the Art Deco era of furniture is what was in the homes of my parents and aunts when I was growing up. I do so love that you restore these gracious old ladies while still carrying out subtle updates. The folks fortunate enough to procure these gems for their homes are getting the very best. Another masterpiece, Angie. Beautiful.

Just absolutely magnificent Angie. I love art deco, having moved to Miami years ago. You’ve done this piece proud. I also dig that it was a nice long video. The longer your videos the more I like them. Hoping you’ll transform more art deco pieces. This one was monumental. Congratulations on your new kitty.

I love the dark color and the way the piece turned out. I've loved antique furniture like that for years. What a shame so many people no longer value them but would rather own the new modular (and short term usable) pieces today. To me, there's something special about running my hand over a lovely piece like this and feeling its quality. Beautiful job!

My Gma had one just like this. Oh my, the memories. The top right drawer was the only we could touch. She always kept it stocked with pens and pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, paper, and coloring books for the grands. We never had to ask to get in that drawer. I don't think anyone violated our solemn oath to Gma that we would never touch any drawer but that one. Our reward was the beginning of the next visit we got to have "pink" milk. She worked at a canning factory just down the street from the house. They made the most delicious cinnamon apple rings that were marchino cherry red. She'd pour a bit in the milk to flavor it and color it. Great memories. And great job on your restoration. I'm sure it looks even more amazing in person. TFS

Just found you. While I love the whole process my favorite is the long reveal. I’ve watched countless other channels with every kind of arts, crafts, remodels and starting from scratch. But you are literally the only channel that makes watching a 10-60 some minute video worth the wait. Personally I would prefer an extra amount of time to be awed. 😊 Thank you
