‘Reeks of desperation’: Yes camp caught deliberately covering No side’s signage

  • The Australian’s Media Writer Sophie Elsworth says the Yes campaign resorting to using dirty tactics against the No side “reeks of desperation”.
Sky News host Peta Credlin exclusively received a video showing how Yes volunteers at a voting booth deliberately covered the No side’s signage and were trying to prevent their volunteers from removing it.
“This to me says the Yes camp are absolutely really worried now and they’re doing anything they absolutely can to give this one last shot,” Ms Elsworth told Ms Credlin.
“My experience the other day when I went and polled down in Brighton in the seat of Goldstein, there were - I would guess maybe 20 Yes volunteers, and there was one No volunteer.
“The No camp really need more people on the ground, it’s easy for us to say that, but I was swarmed with people coming up saying vote Yes.”

Taxpayers give $30B annually for 984,000 people (3.8% of the population) • Expenditure per person in 2012-13 was $43,449 on Indigenous Australian compare to $20,900 on other Australians a ratio of 2.08 to 1 and increase from 1.95 in 2009. 3,278 Aboriginal corporations • 243 Native title bodies • 48 Land councils • 35 Regional councils • 122+ Aboriginal agencies • 3 Advisory bodies • 145 Health Organisations • 11 Indigenous Federal MPs • 12 Culturally important Indigenous days • Senator Price says Australian taxpayers spend at least $100 million a day on direct support for Indigenous Australians. Every year $39.5 billion of direct government expenditure every single year. The figures are based on the 2017 Indigenous Expenditure Report produced by the Productivity Commission. Issues of racial and social injustices are hardly ousted by elevating and heightening race (cultural identification, credentials). It’s a great opportunity to “Vote NO”.
Such a generous offer from Mr. Albanese.
The Voice referendum is a great opportunity for all Australians to pay due respect to all those Australians who voted in the 1967 referendum.
Just stick to the principle of constitutional equality for all Australians.
Regardless of distractions this is still the best pathway for all Australians to follow into
    the future.
The essence of the 1967 referendum was about constitutional equality for all Australians.
This 2023 Voice Referendum completely overturns the principle as to why the 1967 referendum was so successful.
Pay respect and honour Australia’s traditional referendum voters by voting “NO”.

Apparently, the Guardian did a tour of Sydney's Western Suburbs around Penrith to judge people's attitudes to their voting intentions
They couldn't find one who was voting YES
    Reasons why .....
    ‘I don’t know what it’s about"
I’m Aboriginal and I don’t even know what they want us to vote for. NO from me
“It annoys me - we’re told to vote for our people
“It just doesn’t feel like they are talking to us Westies.”
Penrith railway station interviews, people are far more interested in a chat about the NRL than the voice.
I’m voting no, we have already given [Indigenous Australians] enough, always been against it,”
I don’t think politicians engage this area enough, we are ignored out here.”
“And people around here think that Indigenous Australians get enough already.
    Guardian sums up.................
" if you don’t do your own research, it’s easy to feel lost.”

Every Australian Labor Party branch has been instructed to Vote Yes. They have also been asked to volunteer/work at handing out How to vote Yes pamphlets during the prepoll period. All their advertising core flutes, clothing, posters and handouts have been paid for by the Federal Government. The vote Yes brigade work each booth in high numbers. It isn't pleasant being a lone Vote No volunteer with very few advertising resources. This is in itself is not a democratic process .
