I have thought about other examples: Dante vs Vergil (Especially Devil May Cry 3) Raiden vs Sam (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) Sekiro vs Genichiro Ashina (Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice) All of these examples have in common the use of swords and pretty good OST battles and the tough battles themselves. If you remember other examples, feel free to say. 😊
Game journo's talkng shit this game has "no charector development" but I really feel it for Tachy, she played an amazing role. The shock of seeing her again after the first battle with alpha. That boss fight really hit me in the feels.
To be fair, Tachy herself has no development. To us, she was just the captain of EVE's squad that we thought had fallen in battle. She never learned of the truths that EVE had learned. We just know that EVE has immense respect for Tachy.
Idk I found her death kinda awkward and landed pretty flat on my end. It could've been the voice acting or just how the scene was shot but having little background on either of these two at this point in the story doesn't help. I have no emotional attachment to her but I'm supposed feel something because Eve does? She saves Eve sure but Eve seems almost helpless in a lot of situations. Adam probably saves her more than Tachy yet its Tachy we're supposed to feel something for which is boggling to me. Anyway cool theme is cool though. Loved the boss fight and music but not the story around it because it felt halfbaked to me.
@@Ti7Vk3y in the beginning of the game, EVE's exospine was severely damaged due to her botched landing, so she pretty much went through half of the story in a nerfed state until Lilly patches her up. In retrospect, Tachy's death feels more in vain cause of Raven's actions, so at the very least you can understand EVE's frustration when she finds out more of the truth.
@@Ti7Vk3yI believe she does have a reason for her death to be meaningful. I think the reason it falls flat for most is the truth is revealed after her death. For me, the truth is what made her death land for me regardless of when it was sprung, because we're talking about a person who died believing her actions were for a righteous cause for Mother Sphere and for her memories to be accepted within the collective of the Colony. When in fact, they would probably Sheet on her memories or use them for nefarious means. Her memories are best kept on Earth with Eve.
There was something that clicked with me soon as I saw the trailer for Stellar Blade. It was only recently when I was going through some articles about the success of the game. Stellar Blade reminds me so much of the PS2 golden era of JRPGs.
I aint beaten the game yet only 70% in but this was the best boss for me the 2nd phase is so good and tachy mode needs to be longer just to let that theme play more dammit
I really feel like this boss fight happens too early. There should have been more build up to it and it could have been longer. It just went by too quick for the soundtrack to hit

And I’ve noticed every time it’s on the right track to develop some interesting character scenarios, it pulls away for some reason and goes back to its safe formula. Then suddenly it’s like nothing ever happened. This couldve been one of the most legendary boss battles in gaming history with the right build up, imo
I was able to do this too! I think it happened after dying while in Tachy mode. You can't normally take damage in Tachy mode, so the only way to die like that would be from 1 hit ko moves that only some bosses have. I haven't tested it, but you can try replicating this, unless it was patched out.
I love Tachy mode, super cool and amazing music. I feel like sadly it was not designed well though. I hope they rebalance/design it so it’s like normal Eve gameplay but you are Stronger temporarily. Basic attacks stunning is bad as you never had a chance to use Perfect dodge/counter moves. Also no bursts skills with those mode is not great

I noticed that too - in Phase 1 Tachy barely attacks you at all. It's like she doesn't want to hurt Eve until she absolutely has to.

You can have it on for as long as you like in the practice mode. Just click practice for any of her skills and off the enemies attacks.
