    Thank you maam.. I m a bsc 5th semester student... I had so much fear about point group theory.but the way u taught every single basic point to the high level points clears all my doubt. I have completed all the previous videos for the last 3 days.Now I think I will be able to solve problems regarding this topic.. Thanks again ma'am...

    If order of a principal axis and subsidary axis are same then the axis passing through the highest no. of atoms will be called principal axis..Is it right mam..??

    Great lecture Mam ..... i hav a doubt in second example . Here , ethene molecule will contain 3 C2 axis of rotation, one sigma v ,two sigma h and one S2 . You took 2 C2 here.

    Mam joh 2nd problem hai usme 2C2 kaise hoga...waha par toh teeno axis se hi c2 satisfy ho Raha hai .....or mam...I think waha PA C4 hoga kyuki z-axis k along le toh 4 hydrogen rotate Kar rahe hai....or C4 hoga toh obviously 4C2 hoga joh ki ek x-axis,y-axis or Baki dono diagonals se.....
    Or agr mam mera concept galat hai toh please mam yeh clear Kar dijiye please

    Mam in problem no 7 in earlier diagram C and H are not on the same axis but later on after doing modification in structure you draw the both C and H on same axis.....

    Maam in MABC you said Cs which also have all the atoms different then why not C1 ? As you told for YABCD C1 ??

      Nahi...muje b tha confusion..dekho pt ko devide krke symmetry milti hai..but 2 carbon hai to kissi ek ko divide ni kr sakte aur agr karein ek sath 2 hydrogen exchange kr rahe hai place..4 hydrogen alag se ni

      sigma H ka mtlb plane perpendicular to principal axis hota hai ,isme C2 principal axis hai agar uske according plane lenge toh sare atoms Ko cut nhi karega soo

      Hona chahiye isme horizontal plane...ek molecular plane hai jisme teeno atom cut ho rahe hain...ek vertical plane hai jisme A half ho raha hai or B ka reflection mil raha hai...sigma h hona chahiye present..

    If we have two type of axis of symmetry that means both principal and subsidiary axis then we use Dn /Dnh/Dnd

    Mam aapne Ci point group का example nahi bataya tha. Aapne Ci explain karte waqt 1,2-dichloro ethane ka eg karaya था फिर left kar diya tha. Cl-Ch2-Ch2-Cl me konsa point group hoga.?i think C2h point gp.

      Indeed there are 3 C2 axis. In ethene. Out of which one is considered to be principle axis, hence leaving us with two C2 axis perpendicular to the principle axis. That's my interpretation

    Ma'am it will be helpful for me if you could clarify my doubt. For tetrahedral molecule ZA2BC all four atoms attached to Z are not in the same plane then how is it possible to have sigma V plane hence how is it possible to have Cs point group
