This is a great example of how 'The Economy' is no excuse. While half of YT was complaining that they couldn't get a job because of X Y or Z, you took a truck, and some connections, and started a multi-million dollar business.
I'm a resident ophthalmologist in Europe and literally stumbled upon one of your videos like 20 minutes ago and I can already say that respect the hell out of the effort and dedication you've put into your work and business, we can all only learn from such an example. Thoughts of how to go about in my field once I finish my residency often come up especially when I see people in other branches that are successful in developing their own business, and I often wonder how I can implement similar things in my practice. Still haven't figured it out but hopefully with more work and experience the way will show itself to me. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge !
Awesome story, the overnight success took a number of years though I bet. Must feel good to have all that coming together and hitting that stride. Hell yeah, and you said F the jet skis. You put your money back into the tambourine and keep it shaking. That's what divides growth from standing still. Kudos to you man, that's awesome.
$7k to start the business, but for the business to become a success it took far more capital than that. That is, it took tons of career capital, which was built through a decade plus of high quality and honest work as well as consistent effort and learning. I've worked in digital marketing for 12 years (how did I get here, RUclips?!) so there's no way I could throw $7k, or $70k, into starting a plumbing business and actually make it work. So, yeah, just a great lesson in achieving success by playing long term games and building career capital. Put in the work, become elite in your craft, treat people right, and eventually you have all the ingredients for this type of success. Like he says - it's repeatable, but you gotta repeat the whole journey. Very cool stuff.
Fantastic video! Very inspiring! Would love to see a “time line” on how you went from directionless kid to a owning a multimillion dollar company - young people need to see a realistic path instead of the liars on RUclips selling “ get rich quick “ courses
One thing that will gain you respect with any employees is to treat them the same. So many business owners making ten's of thousands or more a day when their employees combined are not geting 0.15%. If that. I've worked with bosses who would be buying a new home and vehicles while us employees are were driving junk and renting dumps.
No doubt rags to riches! Always a job well done brother! If you could have quantified what you are actually worth meaning all your years of experience to the game when you 1st started your business. I believe it would help anyone trying to start their own business! Your experience was earned in the trenches can't buy that from a store! I believe that gives your such a large advantage over all your competition! Rock on!
Hey brass man in one of your videos you gave a shout out to a youtuber 'mr green plumb' something on a better way of fixing a slab leak or something of the sort? Does this ring any bells? I've been going through your videos to find the time you mentioned it but can't find anything.
