What a great tour and info! You really know how to share a location. I feel like I could go there with just this video and know everything I need to. Love the campground ⛺️ and the nature looked beautiful!
Great video, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm heading to Pog Lake this summer for a week and it will be my first time there as well. It was very helpful to see the campsites since the photos on the Provincial Park don't give you a very good idea of what the sites look like. Your video was well done, very informative and gave me a good idea of what the park and amenities are really like. Looking forward to your next adventure and if it's a camping trip, I will surely check out your recommendations. Safe travels! 😎🏕
Thanks for the kind words! Pog Lake is a great park and centrally located which we really enjoyed for exploring the trails and surrounding area. The photos on the Ontario Parks site can be so awful! Some sites don't even have a photo.
@@TheAverageTourist You're most welcome! The Park looks great and not completely remote. I'm a bit tentative about tent camping in the more remote parts of Algonquin due to a very frightening Bear encounter years ago. If I were in a small trailer, I'd be more adventurous but I'm fine in the tent when I have neighbors. 😊 Yes, the photos definitely don't give you a true sense of what the site is really like. Gone are the days when you could simply arrive at a Park and take a drive through to pick your spot then check in with the Ranger to book the site. Your videos are extremely helpful in this regard. Thanks a lot, you and Allan keep the videos coming. 😎👍🏕
Yes I’m so happy you liked it :D, Algonquin is massive! That sunset was so nice. If you ever make it to the east side of highway 60 there is a logging museum trail that I think you would like. It shows you what they used and how they lived way back when the first settlers came to Algonquin.
We did make it there! I'm going to share it next week if all goes according to plan. It was pretty nice and some of the other trails were great too. Loved Algonquin.
What a beautiful campground! It's nice to have riverside access at some parts, there is so much to do outdoors! It would be cool to do a kayak tour. Having a laundry facility is a huge plus!
The park looked so pretty. I really enjoyed the views of the forest, and water front campsites are always a plus. I would definitely want to paddle on the lake (when it is warmer).
This is a great review of the park, we usually try to get to a car campground at least once a year, but we have yet to visit Pog Lake campground. Thanks
I loved when Alan demonstrated the trash with such showmanship. Well done! Are you going to continue camping throughout the winter? It looks so cold there already. Glad you enjoyed it so much!
Haha yes he takes such pride in throwing out the trash! 🤣🤣 we are on our past camping trip of the season with the trailer right now. But we may try some yurt camping in the winter!
I remember camping here as kid, when we got there; there was chipmunks that were so friendly they would take nuts from your hand. I also remember going fishing and there was a moose in the water grazing.
It looks so peaceful by the lake, shame it was too cold to get in but would be lovely to get out on a SUP or kayak there. Guessing it’s getting colder now, will you brave camping during winter time? 🥶
Oh yes it was freezing cold that weekend - in the night it went down to -8. The first night we were the only ones out having a camp fire because it was so cold haha
08:24 the garbage containers are called moloks. They keep odor down because the waste at the bottom stays cold. Due to height, it compresses the garbage naturally. Also keeps water out, hold a lot of waste and can be emptied with a crane infrequently.
We don't have any pictures that show the site - just our trailer. I do remember it was completely open on both sides. There are cedars between the sites, but they are tall, so there really was no lower foliage to divide the sites.

Thank you so much! It's a beautiful part of our province - so much wonderful nature to see.
Great camp ground, and nice presented. Thank you for sharing. nice place to explore. Take care.
Thanks so much! Appreciate it :)
What a fantastic, beautiful area! Thank you for taking us along!! Really love the campground!
Thanks so much!
Fantastic my friend 👍👍🥀🥀🥀
Thanks!
The park looks great. The trail with huge trees on both the sides look beautiful. Enjoyed it.
It was a lovely park indeed!
That looks like a beautiful place to camp. I might check that out with my family. Thanks so much for the video and all the facts
Thanks for watching! It's a great area with so much to do.
This is absolutely gorgeous, looks like a really gorgeous place for hiking and exploring! Forest is really beautiful, simply beautifully presented!
Thank you! I really liked it there - so much great scenery.
I guess the summer is a better time for the beach! Also kayaking or canoeing I prefer when it's warm!
Great campground, thanks for taking us there!
Thanks for watching! I really enjoyed the park - summer might even be better there
I love the campsites that are right on the water!
Me too, next time I'm going try for one of those 👌
I'm so happy I saw myself in the video 😅. I was looking your channel last year. I was working at the Pog lake office. ❤❤❤
That's such a coincidence!! Thanks for your help with the Algonquin info! It was our first time camping there 😊
Gorgeous park and hike...enjoy
thanks!
What a beautiful place to go camping! Thanks for the info 🙌
Thanks for watching - we enjoyed it there

Absolutely so cool and enjoyable vlog ❤️😍
thanks!
Looks like a beautiful campground…Love all the trees and the view of the lake 😍
Seems like you really enjoyed your stay at this park 😁
Thanks! Yes it was my favourite camping experience ever!! :)
Looks like a lovely park that would be awesome to stay at to see the fall colors!
Oh yes - the fall colours here draw a big crowd!

I loved the park tour! Your channel name is fantastic!!
Thanks so much!! Yours is fabulous too 👌

Yeah we really liked this campground. Was so peaceful and had great amenities 👌
Ontario Parks has to get their act together and install more trailer dumps and fresh water fill !
We were in Pog Lake campground C last weekend! The fall colours were amazing!
Oh that would have been beautiful!!
The park looked so pretty. I really enjoyed the views of the forest, and water front campsites are always a plus. I would definitely want to paddle on the lake (when it is warmer).
It was my favourite of the season - so much incredible scenery and I'd love to go paddling on that lake.
@@TheAverageTourist you two visited some really great spots this camping season :)
This is a great review of the park, we usually try to get to a car campground at least once a year, but we have yet to visit Pog Lake campground. Thanks
Happy to share - this one ranks in the top spot of my park experiences so far.
@@TheAverageTourist oh wow, alright then added to our list
Awesome park! Bad roads!

Oh you're lucky to have had a moose sighting!
We were in camp ground B , very private. Wifi and cell service was excellent. Very quiet. I agree the roads are rough .
I'd go back, such a nice park. But those roads really shake up the trailer even going so slow 🤣
Out of curiosity, what cell phone provided are you with?
It looks so peaceful by the lake, shame it was too cold to get in but would be lovely to get out on a SUP or kayak there. Guessing it’s getting colder now, will you brave camping during winter time? 🥶
It was very peaceful, so I'd love to go back in the summer. No winter plans yet! Might be too chilly for our little camper!
Another great campground review! It's a lovely place. I like the facilities. Guessing by your dress it's starting to get chilly?
Oh yes it was freezing cold that weekend - in the night it went down to -8. The first night we were the only ones out having a camp fire because it was so cold haha
is it best to reserve a canoe from somewhere before we go, or are there enough supply/ options that we can rent when we get there?
They have outfitters but if you are visiting at a busier time I'd reserve in advance. Some deliver right to your campsite too.

Ah thanks for sharing, that's very interesting - we had never seen them before. You learn something new every day!
What time of the year did you visit? Were there any issues with black flies?
Late September, no issues with bugs at all
My wife and I are going today! But it will be raining. 😢😢
Hope you stayed dry!
Hey, great channel, very informative can I ask is the wifi free and do you cell service?
Thanks very much. We had cell service through Bell and used our own data throughout the park.
There could be picnic tables in the beach area during the summer they could of been put away for the season
Very true! There were a few on the sides in beach A area. It's definitely a different experience from summer to fall camping.
Do you have better pictures of your site and site next to you 180? If yes, can you share please?
We don't have any pictures that show the site - just our trailer. I do remember it was completely open on both sides. There are cedars between the sites, but they are tall, so there really was no lower foliage to divide the sites.
I go camping get away from city life no cell phone.... bonus
I like having service for emergencies but it's nice to be disconnected.
