    Quick tip to soak your nails. Pour acetone in a ziploc with the paper towel and dip it In a bowl with very warm water. The acetone will get warm and gel will be off like in 5 min.

    I’ve been doing my own nails for about 4 years now. I used to go to the salon every 2 weeks before that and I could kick myself for all that wasted money. I’ve grown a large collection of gel polished and different techniques like dip powder, structure gel, gel polish, acrylic etc... so much fun to play with stuff and try new thing! 😊 once I started using YL I felt guilty about using so many chemicals but honestly it brings me joy so I try to just accept it.

      Melissa Medina there is middle ground!! It’s okay to not be 100% natural/organic with every little thing. Especially when it’s hard to find products that work well. I have heard 100% Pure has clean nail polish (their other products are very clean as far as ingredients go) and Lights Lacquer nail polish (by RUclipsr KathleenLights) is 7-free made in the USA. If you are willing to try some new brands I think those would be worth checking out. I have not used either of them yet on my own as I don’t really paint my nails much. I think it’d be worth a shot though! Your mental well being is just as important to your health as trying to stay away from chemicals/unhealthy things. If painting your nails brings you joy, stick with it 😊

    A professional tip: you don’t need to put paper towel in the acetone. The paper towel will soak up more acetone and you will end up using more. Make sure you are using 100% acetone, and the alcohol make sure it’s 90% or more. Anything less contains water which will cause lifting.

    • @EvaaBanevaa
      @EvaaBanevaa 4 года назад +1

      @Myricle12 4 года назад +2

      @AshLee ~ Hey! 👋🏻 As with anything in life, “practice makes progress”! Don’t give up! Just take your time, don’t have high expectations, and keep trying! 👍🏻 Someone mentioned trying liquid latex around your nails while painting them. Great advice!👏🏻 Also, get a tiny clean up brush that you can dip in pure acetone for the mistakes you make when painting your nails to give it that “clean, fresh from the salon look”. Also, give your nails some good TLC with oiling your them- multiple times a day. If you do this, you will be amazed! That’s something that is essential to anyone’s nails/manicure. Just do that step after your manicure is fully completed. Every girl deserves to feel great about her nails no matter what~ if your a pro, a beginner; no matter your length, or shape! You got this, girl!😘💪🏻💕

    Allie, the last time I saw you was the first time. I had mentioned to you , not to cut your cuticles, I hope you remember. You messaged back to me how your cuticles had become overgrown and tough. I tried to get back to you but had no space to enter my comment. Today I found you, Yeah ! I'd like you to stop cutting those cuties and start massaging them with oil. Keep working with them gently as often as you can. When you use your cuticle pusher, be very gentle. So many peeps use their hands and fingers as tools. Thats a no no. Just be kind and gentle with yourself. I'll tune in now that I know you and I'll try to help when I can. I was a Cosmetologist when I was young and things have changed alot. So you can teach me and I can teach you. Best wishes.

I recommend opening with gloves 🧤 and outside to be safe. I’m not joking. I had to spend 45 minutes disinfecting the entire area I was in and myself. It was disgusting. I have natural nails and have never used gel nail polish. What’s the difference between the regular polish and the gel? Also, the uv is just a fast drying tool for mani?

    Please start filing your nails in one direction only. Filing back and forth is just going to create micro tears and really damage your nails over time. I just want your nails to stay healthy. 😀 WOW she makes painting the nails look so easy! No matter how careful I am, I always get polish on my skin. smh I’m waiting for liquid latex to arrive in the mail to use. I like to put Vaseline all over my cuticles before soaking my nails in acetone. It really helps protect my sensitive skin. Then I wash my hands and apply alcohol to prep. Make sure to always apply cuticle oil at the end of your manicure.

    Does the uv light damage skin or jewelry?
    I've been doing my own acrylics at home for many yrs to avoid long waits in the shop. I'm wondering if this would be faster than doing acrylic at home. Also will it keep my nails hard? I have very thin, weak nails naturally. Thank u. Great job

      UV light can damage the skin, although many salons don't admit it. However, there is protetctive hand gloves made for your hands going under the lamps.
      This gel will keep your nails hard, it will make the apperace of thicker nails due to the gel coatings.
      For your weak and thin nails I reccomend eating more animal proteins like eggs, salmon, chicken and taking a hair, skin, nail supplement. It will help your hands become thicker and stronger.

    Also do u have to remove it all after 3 weeks or can u file down existing gel & reapply more gel on top?

      Girlfmva no it’s not actually, so you should learn to do it properly with a normal nail polish first😊

    You should look for foils with the pad. Then you put just the pad on your nail. You aren’t wasting as much acetone plus you won’t dry out so much of your hands.

      I just use a cotton ball and a piece of regular old kitchen aluminum foil. Works perfectly and it's cheap and easy.

      @@simply-allieThank you for the tip! I'd love to try gel polishes, but I honestly have sooooooo many regular polishes. I also get bored after wearing the same color for more than the one week that mine usually lasts. Maybe I'll branch Ito these for Christmas. 😉

    I have the same lamp, prep my nails and use the thinnest layer of gel polish yet my nails don't dry they're always tacky, even after the base coat! I'm currently sat with base coat on from last night as I'm worried the polish won't dry and will smudge 😩😔

    • @jeanmason312
      @jeanmason312 4 года назад +1

      After you’ve prepped your nails, then put base coat on, cure and you will have a tacky layer so your gel colour will stick, a couple of coats, obviously curing in between each coat then top coat and you will have a tacky layer which should be wiped with isopropyl, perhaps you are not wiping off the tacky layer that is why your nails feel wet, hope this helps

    • @cmac6992
      @cmac6992 4 года назад +1

      You have to remove the tacky layer after you do the topcoat. You just use 90% isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel or tissue and wipe it off and your nails will be shiny and hard underneath. I was sure it would all smudge the first time I did it, but it was like magic.
