My RX8 would not start for a while, everything was fine. The car wasn’t even trying to start though, I established that if my key worked, my car would start lol, i put two and two together &-I had to replace the battery in my key fob and it’s been fine since! This video is helpful. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks for all the free info! If thats okay with you i'd like to hear your opinion about the AEM coils vs the OEM. Also my water temp is close to 100c when im not in the highway. Do you think that an aftermarket radiator will solve that issue? Im thinking about the Koyorad.. And last question, Is it possible that a CAI like AEM or MS could suck water in the system in a rainy day?
I agree with @Sneedle Woods, AEM coils are fantastic... that said, your average owner only needs the Mazda Revision C coils or the BHR international coils.. everything else is wasted money to be honest. You would only really need the AEM coils for a dedicated race car or a turbocharged car that you are pushing over 360whp for and want extra reliability. An aftermarket radiator will help, but its also important to make sure your cooling fans are in good shape as well. The radiator wont really work if the fans aren't pulling air through them. Yes it is possible for the AEM or MS to pull water... that said, you can do what Sneedle said and put the water sock over the filter and it will help.
Thanks so much, my engine just cranks and cranks then it starts and shoots white smoke that smells like oil. It wont idle do you know what direction I should start. I think it might my my ESS or Fule Pump. I replaced my battery, new spark plugs, new ignition coils and ignition wires. I'm so confused.
I bought my RX8 without an engine installed (lucky me), and a bunch of boxes of parts. I got the engine all together, in the car, everything connected - I thought "all good" right? nope. Turn the key, lights come on, but no crank. Had a locksmith come out to check the key, and program a spare. He got the keys programmed, but it still doesn't crank. So frustrating. I'm at a loss. BTW, it has a new, improved style (high RPM) starter, and the engine was rebuilt, and all checks were OK with it. It also has the coil pack upgrade. Any suggestions?
SERGE our car stopped running from a shorted coil. Blue 15a fuse blew. So disconnected the bad coil and the fuse stopped blowing. Tried to start it on three coils and nothing. Reconnected the bad coil and the fuse which blew multiple times stopped blowing yet the coil started belching out smoke. So we swapped all coils, leads and spark plugs. Engine still won't start. Noticed when cranking to test the spark that flames were roaring out the hole where the spark plug should go. Do you know how this could be.
Check other fuses, make sure everything is running good, make sure your air flow sensor is good, make sure the engine isn't flooded. Look up the deflood procedure just to be certain.
@@rickyse3p OK I just watched ruclips.net/video/v3uGJGzUYCI/видео.html and see why flames come out from one spark plug hole. Its got two plugs per cylinder. I never knew that. So now the term leading and trailing makes sense. OK. so if there's ignition and the only reason the car stopped running was a burnt out trailing coil nearest interior of car, you would say well then car should start. The strange part. Got to car and the 15a fuse for Ecu was blowing. Then I unplugged the bad coil which was blown on the side and the fuse stopped blowing. OK and when scanned all the modules reappeared. Wiring shows they get their power through the engine ECU. OK so then trying to start the car with just 3 coils and it would not start. Out of curiosity I reconnected the blown coil to see the fuse blow again but this time it never. It had blown 5 times before but this time instead of it blowing the coil sat there smoking away like it was about to burst into flames. New coils, leads and plugs. Still it won't start.
I was able to start mine and kill it immediately, multiple times without flooding, and here lately I can't get it to start, I was hoping you'd point something out I'm missing but Ive been through all of it already multiple times, it started hard starting about a month ago and it's progressively gotten worse till now it won't start at all, I don't have any pressure gauge, it's got compression, I'm guessing it's too low..idk
Step one will always be compression test the motor before you get any further into throwing parts (money) or time into it. You need to know what health the motor itself is in. From there you can tackle things like the ignition system, electronics like wiring and switches or key issues, fuel system rarely fails, but if anything does its 99% of the time going to be the fuel pump itself. A healthy engine with healthy ignition system and fuel system will start pretty easily even if the starter is pretty worn out. You can also follow me on instagram and message me on there and can help you with troubleshooting further. Number one and most important thing to do first though is compression test the motor with a rotary compression tester.
False you dont need to do anything like that on a hot start. If everything is in proper working order and your ignition is healthy and compression is good, you can just start the car right up.
Correct about engine temperature. Incorrect about flooding, a healthy ignition system will resolve concerns about flooding during cold shut downs. Engine is fine. Please don't spread misinformation

Aem coils are the best existing. Aem cai has an optional rain protection you can put on. Radiator will help, cooler will help much more

Did you ever figure this out ?¿!
My rx8 starts and when i put gear then die i find the problem its the ignition key fuse but i change it and did it again some solves?
Good informative video👍🏻
Glad you liked it!

Did you watch the full video? I go over a few of the "no crank" symptoms and their causes.

Where you get that coolant tank?
Custom
Any way we can get in contact?
