The Long Ballad in general got me this year and the surprise gem was definitely You Are My Glory. Like you said, they just somehow NAILED it. Definitely find our tastes differ when it comes to period dramas (just give me that crack) and such, but in general I've loved at least coming across your reviews / recommendations and then diving into them myself to see where we differ! I agree with you regarding Word of Honor. It consumed me. I watch C dramas for romance so I was hesitant to watch a “bromance” but little did I know that the relationship between ZZS and WKX would be so much deeper and richer than any other relationship I’ve seen in any other drama. By far the best CP to say the least.

Totally agree! Hao Du and Le Yan are my favorite couple of 2021 too, but I barely cared about the rest of the drama. I watched it mostly because of them. 😃 And again I have so much inspiration about what to watch next 😁 Also because many of those dramas feature my most favorite actors and actresses from China. 🙃

I totally agree with you on Sunshine of My Life couple of Xu Lu and Zhang Han. Great chemistry and her portrayal of a no nonsense girl who is 100% comfortable and secure in herself was really refreshing from the usual dumb, silly and often times immature female leads.
Two CPs from YRMG and The Imperial Coroner are really my top c-drama CPs of 2021! They're so lovable!!❤❤Their relationships are healthy and feasible in real life. 2nd CP from The Long Ballad is typical drama trope where naïve and sweet girl fell in love with cold and quiet guy which viewers seems to be sucker for it. No wonder there are many dramas being made with such trope every year. The writers and directors really know what people actually want deep, deep in their hearts even though people may say otherwise. 😂😂
I have been binging to these newly discovered videos. so I suspect no one will see what I write, but I had the EXACT same reaction to the CP in the Long Ballad. My top favorite CP for 2021 is from Luoyang~Gao Bingzhu (the 'imperfect' hero) x Wu Siyue (the pure white moonlight). Their love was so heart-wrenching and selfless. Their characters inspired me a lot irl. Most of their cp moments were based off of only eye contact, body language, and minimal lines, but they deliver such a beautiful love story. I am still heart-broken from the last episode.
I sooooo agree with your comment for Long Ballad and Imperial Coroner. The second couple in Long Ballad kept me going. I was so depressed with the main couple who are always bedridden. And it was so ridiculous how the characters fighting each other where all in wheelchair/ carriage. The Imperial Coroner is one of my favorite for this year. 🥰

AvenueX, I started watching "The Day of Becoming You" thanks to you! And I love it. It's the first time I watch something with these actors but Zhang Xin Cheng (Jiang Yi) and Liang Jie (Yu Sheng Sheng) are so good together. They acted their own characters and each other's characters super well. I really love how nice, caring and understanding Jiang Yi and Yu Sheng Sheng are to each other. Great story and great writing. Personally, one of my most favourite on screen couples this year has been Bai lu and ren jialun from one and only. Though it was tragic but the way the express their feelings for each other was just so good.

I can't agree more with The long ballad couple. I loved them even tho I skipped all the princess alone in the wild part. They were the main reason why I finished the drama. And also wanted to point out how beautiful is the hanfu you're wearing. Such a pretty golden yellow, love it!

Leyan and Hao Du were what I didn’t know I needed this year. I LOVED that couple. And it was so unexpected. I was way more interested in them than I was with the lead couple. Maybe because they also had more character development?
Nah, I don't think it's that. I mean, they have the classic development, but Changge and Sun also change in the series. I think it's because Leyan and Haodu have more of a dreamy couple story than the OTP. With Changge and Sun, it's all about their individual journeys and problems and how they help each other out. That's why some said it's like a friendship (though I'd say it's just a modern, less fluffy take on love). It's realistic, but that's not really want you dream about when you think of romance haha With Leyan and Haodu, though, it's the typical romance, with the good old damsel in distress, rogue male lead and healthy dose of cheesy (which may be cliché but when well done is pretty cute). I personally liked both couples, but I see why some liked second leads better!
@@gianellab.4953 I detested the second couple of The Long Ballad, they totally ruined the series for me. Especially from what Zhao Lousi did behind the scene to attack Dilireba. Her character was not even in the original work and could be cut off the series without affecting the plot.

These days you can't go on any platform without Lusi fans and Dilraba fans going at it. It's just sad. I like ensemble dramas, in Argentina they do loads of them and people are not at each other's throats arguing about who's best and what not all the time. I don't know what Lusi "said" about Dilraba, and I don't really care. What happens behind the scenes is hard to know for sure for us viewers (lots of rumors, few evidence). I've liked Dilraba's series more than Lusi's series, I've seen her in interviews, doesn't mean I know her better and that she's a better person than Lusi. In any case, whatever happened between them isn't part of the series and has nothing to do with it. I'm here for on-screen drama, not off-screen drama 😂

One of my favorites from this year was the couple from The Rational Life. Given that they have a 19-year age difference in real life, they had amazing and completely believable chemistry. Their relationship was based on mutual trust and respect for one another, and unlike almost every other noona romance, their characters fell in love with each other because of the people they were. There was no "evening the playing ground" like you normally see (making the woman immature and the man hotheaded but more mature in relationships). Just two regular people who happened to have a big age difference who fell in love.

I'm going to believe and agree with a well known producer and director in seeing her potential than internet trolls that says the opposite. Yesss, the main couple of The Day of Becoming You was so good - Zhang Xincheng x Liang Jie made me laugh so much and the fact they're both great at delivering romantic scenes (all those kisses, gosh) was the cherry on top for this drama. And I've been meaning to watch the Long Ballad since forever but hesitated a bit because I couldn't imagine Reba x Wu Lei together. I think I need to move it up my list.
@@destinychicshop3206 Yeps I did watch it and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes strong FLs and historical/military cdramas. As for the CPs, I thought Liu Yuning and Zhao Lusi's characters had the more interesting development and chemistry but ultimately it's the storyline and the main characters as a whole that kept me watching, not really the CPs.
I totally agree about Haodu and Leyan from The Long Ballad and I'm so glad that so many people are mentioning them. I really didn't care much about the lead couple at all but this second couple's chemistry and character progression were unbelievable!!

I liked "The Long Ballad" in general, I think it had one of the strongest plots I've seen (but there were some flaws too, yeah). Lead couple had quite healthy and unique relationships, but something did go wrong for me too, at certain point I lost interest in them. And I was on fire about haoyan till the very end 🔥😁 Imperial coroner - both couples were great. I think I watched the drama after your video, so thanks ❤ My third favourite couple this year would be Pavilion Lord/Qing Qing from "Miss the dragon". And yes, drama was terrible, but this cp was fantastic!

YAMG…. Surely has these two gorgeous lead actors but their natural acting and chemistry made them such a believable pairing. Like you can see them as a pair making it work. They are such a couple to root for. I am rewatching them again. And it was such an adult drama too. Loved it.
Ok so I didn't watch the drama (I heard it was terrible) but I watched a 4-hour video compilation a fan put together for the second lead pair in Miss The Dragon i.e. Xue Qianxun and Qingqing and really enjoyed it. Deng Wei is on my to-watch list, because I think he has great potential. Word of Honor also made me crazy and mental and just really empty and unable to move on for a long time, so the above pair + Danmei novels helped me move on this year. I still don't think I'm fully recovered from WOH and WenZhou's magic spell, but I'm getting there.
My favourite drama list for this year is, the rebel, word of honor, crush, the long ballad, falling in to your smile, duo luo continent, the blessed girl (I really like that imaginary world concert), sweet teeth etc.

The place is actually a tourist attraction spot and being famous for Cherry blossom viewing, and every year during that season there is nearly million of Chinese tourists (yes! tourists from CHINA) go to that spot for cherry blossom. Now all the truth about ZZH incident is revealed (sadly the truth is only revealed outside of China; as they still ban and mute all clarification info and truth of the incident across ALL China internet platforms). The Long Ballad in general got me this year and the surprise gem was definitely You Are My Glory. Like you said, they just somehow NAILED it. Definitely find our tastes differ when it comes to period dramas (just give me that crack) and such, but in general I've loved at least coming across your reviews / recommendations and then diving into them myself to see where we differ! I agree with you regarding Word of Honor. It consumed me. I watch C dramas for romance so I was hesitant to watch a “bromance” but little did I know that the relationship between ZZS and WKX would be so much deeper and richer than any other relationship I’ve seen in any other drama. By far the best CP to say the least.

Totally agree! Hao Du and Le Yan are my favorite couple of 2021 too, but I barely cared about the rest of the drama. I watched it mostly because of them. 😃 And again I have so much inspiration about what to watch next 😁 Also because many of those dramas feature my most favorite actors and actresses from China. 🙃

I totally agree with you on Sunshine of My Life couple of Xu Lu and Zhang Han. Great chemistry and her portrayal of a no nonsense girl who is 100% comfortable and secure in herself was really refreshing from the usual dumb, silly and often times immature female leads.
Two CPs from YRMG and The Imperial Coroner are really my top c-drama CPs of 2021! They're so lovable!!❤❤Their relationships are healthy and feasible in real life. 2nd CP from The Long Ballad is typical drama trope where naïve and sweet girl fell in love with cold and quiet guy which viewers seems to be sucker for it. No wonder there are many dramas being made with such trope every year. The writers and directors really know what people actually want deep, deep in their hearts even though people may say otherwise. 😂😂

My top favorite CP for 2021 is from Luoyang~Gao Bingzhu (the 'imperfect' hero) x Wu Siyue (the pure white moonlight). Their love was so heart-wrenching and selfless. Their characters inspired me a lot irl. Most of their cp moments were based off of only eye contact, body language, and minimal lines, but they deliver such a beautiful love story. I am still heart-broken from the last episode.

AvenueX, I started watching "The Day of Becoming You" thanks to you! And I love it. It's the first time I watch something with these actors but Zhang Xin Cheng (Jiang Yi) and Liang Jie (Yu Sheng Sheng) are so good together. They acted their own characters and each other's characters super well. I really love how nice, caring and understanding Jiang Yi and Yu Sheng Sheng are to each other. Great story and great writing. Thanks for sharing. 😁

I can't agree more with The long ballad couple. I loved them even tho I skipped all the princess alone in the wild part. They were the main reason why I finished the drama. And also wanted to point out how beautiful is the hanfu you're wearing. Such a pretty golden yellow, love it!

Leyan and Hao Du were what I didn’t know I needed this year. I LOVED that couple. And it was so unexpected.
I was way more interested in them than I was with the lead couple. Maybe because they also had more character development?
Nah, I don't think it's that. I mean, they have the classic development, but Changge and Sun also change in the series. I think it's because Leyan and Haodu have more of a dreamy couple story than the OTP. With Changge and Sun, it's all about their individual journeys and problems and how they help each other out. That's why some said it's like a friendship (though I'd say it's just a modern, less fluffy take on love). It's realistic, but that's not really want you dream about when you think of romance haha With Leyan and Haodu, though, it's the typical romance, with the good old damsel in distress, rogue male lead and healthy dose of cheesy (which may be cliché but when well done is pretty cute). I personally liked both couples, but I see why some liked second leads better!
@@gianellab.4953 I detested the second couple of The Long Ballad, they totally ruined the series for me. Especially from what Zhao Lousi did behind the scene to attack Dilireba. Her character was not even in the original work and could be cut off the series without affecting the plot.

These days you can't go on any platform without Lusi fans and Dilraba fans going at it. It's just sad. I like ensemble dramas, in Argentina they do loads of them and people are not at each other's throats arguing about who's best and what not all the time. I don't know what Lusi "said" about Dilraba, and I don't really care. What happens behind the scenes is hard to know for sure for us viewers (lots of rumors, few evidence). I've liked Dilraba's series more than Lusi's series, I've seen her in interviews, doesn't mean I know her better and that she's a better person than Lusi. In any case, whatever happened between them isn't part of the series and has nothing to do with it. I'm here for on-screen drama, not off-screen drama 😂

Happy new year! WOH brought me so many good memories. Wen Kexing/Zhou Zishu were definitely my favourite CP in 2021.
One of my favorites from this year was the couple from The Rational Life. Given that they have a 19-year age difference in real life, they had amazing and completely believable chemistry. Their relationship was based on mutual trust and respect for one another, and unlike almost every other noona romance, their characters fell in love with each other because of the people they were. There was no "evening the playing ground" like you normally see (making the woman immature and the man hotheaded but more mature in relationships). Just two regular people who happened to have a big age difference who fell in love.

A lot of actresses have many dramas that are not great in their past, you know why? Because getting main roles isn't easy, so you accept these roles to build on your experiences and get noticed and it's going well for her because she was offered these next two high budget films. I'm going to believe and agree with a well known producer and director in seeing her potential than internet trolls that says the opposite. China film industry, people talk too much shit about actresses for playing similar roles but never says the same about men. Do yeah, I disagree.

Yesss, the main couple of The Day of Becoming You was so good - Zhang Xincheng x Liang Jie made me laugh so much and the fact they're both great at delivering romantic scenes (all those kisses, gosh) was the cherry on top for this drama.
And I've been meaning to watch the Long Ballad since forever but hesitated a bit because I couldn't imagine Reba x Wu Lei together. I think I need to move it up my list.
I think Reba and wu lei worked well except 1 or 2 scenes so give it a go. Especially eye stares or communication I liked it a lot
Don't hesitate to watch the Long ballad, it is really good, and if you really watch it, you will like it way much more than the side couple.
@@destinychicshop3206 Yeps I did watch it and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes strong FLs and historical/military cdramas. As for the CPs, I thought Liu Yuning and Zhao Lusi's characters had the more interesting development and chemistry but ultimately it's the storyline and the main characters as a whole that kept me watching, not really the CPs.
I totally agree about Haodu and Leyan from The Long Ballad and I'm so glad that so many people are mentioning them. I really didn't care much about the lead couple at all but this second couple's chemistry and character progression were unbelievable!!

I liked "The Long Ballad" in general, I think it had one of the strongest plots I've seen (but there were some flaws too, yeah). Lead couple had quite healthy and unique relationships, but something did go wrong for me too, at certain point I lost interest in them. And I was on fire about haoyan till the very end 🔥😁

My third favourite couple this year would be Pavilion Lord/Qing Qing from "Miss the dragon". And yes, drama was terrible, but this cp was fantastic!

Black sheep has a negative connotation and usually used to set someone apart from a group for being different. The chinese "black horse" has a more similar meaning to the english "underdog", meaning someone unexpected who rises up to the occasion

Word of Honour definitely was something special but loved the untamed. I didnt see most of the other dramas you mentioned but I loved the generals lady. The 2 main leads in that had something special at times. and Luoyang of course. but loving pearl eclipse. it gets better. and main leads in legend of fei. And legend of yunxi... oh so many. I got into you because of WOH. I loved your explanations. They were amazing and enhanced WOH for me and chinese drama in general. Ok so I didn't watch the drama (I heard it was terrible) but I watched a 4-hour video compilation a fan put together for the second lead pair in Miss The Dragon i.e. Xue Qianxun and Qingqing and really enjoyed it. Deng Wei is on my to-watch list, because I think he has great potential.
Word of Honor also made me crazy and mental and just really empty and unable to move on for a long time, so the above pair + Danmei novels helped me move on this year. I still don't think I'm fully recovered from WOH and WenZhou's magic spell, but I'm getting there.
I went through the hell of all episodes of "Miss the dragon" for the second couple 😁 They were absolutely cute and hot.

She just recop the case and the rumors and never sided with anyone.. And everyone did that from the start and you can't force someone to side with anyone ..and in this video she was talking about zhou zishu here.. Not zzh.. Big difference..
@@castielwinchester6222 she is being different at different platforms. In weibo and twitter, she condemns ZZH, makes hateful comments and curses to him. Her video includes all the false information and she didn't do any fact check, those info are easily assessed at internet outside of China. What's worse is, she purposely misleads her viewers to believe ZZH's action to be much more malicious. The place is actually a tourist attraction spot and being famous for Cherry blossom viewing, and every year during that season there is nearly million of Chinese tourists (yes! tourists from CHINA) go to that spot for cherry blossom. But she deliberately hides this fact and didn't tell. Now all the truth about ZZH incident is revealed (sadly the truth is only revealed outside of China; as they still ban and mute all clarification info and truth of the incident across ALL China internet platforms). I believe she must have seen those info, but she doesn't do any follow-up clarification as well as apology to the mistakes she made to ZZH.

@@108ahah i cant agree or disagree with what you are saying if i didnt see it with my own eyes.. That is what got zzh framed in the first place.. Not knowing what is fact and what is rumor.. I love zhang zhehan from the start.. 6 years ago and i know him.. I know he will never do something like that because he has a beautiful soul.. And i read about it all So i dont need to know more.. I believe he will come back stronger than before and if she talked ill about zzh she will apololgy at the end.. Till everything cleared i cant just believe everything ppl say.
