I can just picture Babolat R&D.... "guys, I've got it.. this year instead of blue on black... lets do... ... BLACK ON BLUE!!" "wow Bob! you really outdid yourself this time!!"
I love your content because similar to another content creator your opinions are your own. I'm looking forward to the new pure drives hopefully they won't make me break the bank.
I love the Pure Drive because I can play aggressively but also play passive (like as a pusher, or counter puncher) and there's enough pace, depth, spin for me to stay in rallies. I would say just avoid stiff strings and or high string tensions
I’m sorry, most of these racquet companies are SO ridiculous. If you have a great product you should have no problem with people reviewing it even before it comes out. Shouldn’t you be trying to get the market hyped up for the new launch? Show the paint job and let people talk about it. If they’re that worried about it, don’t let anybody see it or hear about it and don’t send any out pre launch. They should do what Head and Wilson do. Send out black out editions and let reviewers review. Look at the hype with the Head Gravity. That’s how you market and hype up a product, not literally force people to delete content so nobody can see or hear anything about it. I’ve never understood why these tennis companies do this. Makes me not want to buy their products.
Totally agree. It's a free promo and they don't get it. Creating hype step by step is the best marketing strategy. And to be honest, the new Pure Drive is just an update. I would understand it if it was some brand new line of rackets, but it's not. The signal for me is also pretty obvious - they are worried little bit. This kind of censorship can only mean one thing - they are not confident about the new racket. Because if it was so good, they would be like...who cares, we know it's good and it will sell like bananas. I don't think it will be this case.
I find the pure drive easier for me use than the pure aero, especially for my game as I like hitting flatter shots for winners, I struggled to hit winners with the pure aero as the spin took away some of the power, pure drive 2021 will always have a place in my heart ❤️
Molly, I was considering a Pure Drive, but seeing you in the comments of every video has made me reconsider-sharing the same racket as someone so visually unappealing is a hard pass.
@@mrflyingsourcer3515 What does your opinion of her "looks" have to do with tennis equipment? It is a rude comment. I feel she deserves an apology. Please be nice to people.
The Ezone 98 feels like a little bit more control oriented PD. It has the concentrated power that means more control. Pur Drive is more wild, unchained.
what would be better for an intermediate to slight advanced player? I dont use much spin Yonex Ezone 100 2022/25 , Yonex VCore 100 2023 or Babolat Pure Drive 2025
Hi AJZ, I did stop for two main reasons. All the Pure Drives I have received from my uncle were grip size 4. I realized too late, that grip size 4 is giving me finger cramps in my hand in long matches. It happens when you have to hold bigger grip in your hand for a long period of time. Second reason was that I wanted to try something different, more precise, with more control and better manooovrlbity. The PUre Drive+ is a pain in the ass on volleys. Very slow and hard to play quick reaction volleys. That's why I kind of always struggled little bit in this are. And of course I wanted to try something completely new, different. It's a shame that I didn't realize that I actually like more control orinted rackets back in the days when I was 20-25 years old. Now I'm a lot smarter in this are so I know whyt suits my game the best. When you play almost 15 years only with one racket brand and one model, it kind of narrows your vision in that segment and you lose the variability and potential gain in changing a tennis racket. I think there are only few people who can say they chose the right racket immediately from the very beginning or in the adult years. So now I like to experiment little bit more. Life is too short to stick with just one racket for the whole life.
@ Hey! I understand what you mean very well, I used it all my life too, from age 11 to adulthood, but this last time something has changed. Have you tried the Pure Strike? I'm also trying out some rackets. I wonder if the current Pure Strike will make me feel something similar to the old Pure Drive. Which one is better for you? The Strike in head size 98 or 100?
@@AJZolezzi Hi, the 100 is a lot easier to play with. The 98 is too heavy and demanding. I think the new Pure Drive 2025 feels good. Nothing really special but it feels like home. easy to use in every situation and power is as always top notch.
@@CzechTennisGuy Great! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'll wait for that Pure Drive 2025 before buying any other racquet. I noticed something about the material of the Pure Drive 2021 and is that any small bumps it receives damage it faster than the old ones. It seems as if that design is just a simple paint job.
@@AJZolezzi The design is not bad, but it could have been better. Now when I have the Gravity 2025 rackets side by side with Pure Drives 2025, there is no doubt which one looks better and has more quality - Gravity's.
That's a hard question. It's very individual. If you get used to the isometric head shape of yonex, you will love it. I would say Pure Drive is overall little bit easier to use in terms of the hitting sensation. I would choose Pure Drive becasue of the familiarity I have with the racket.
It depends on how clean you hit. Both feel pretty similar. Obviously the 98 is just a little bit more unforgiving. Maybe for doubles the larger headsize makes more sense, so 100.
Good content! I am demoing the current PD98 and really like it. It is still fast thru the air & increases predictably of my shots with almost same power. I have zero arm discomfort but heard new version may have improved feel w/ NF2? Heard string pattern on 98 has an extra cross & wider top hoop?? Really want to hear how the new 98 compares to the current one!! Thanks.
@@GabeFSU Thank you. Becasue I did not hit with the Pure Drive 98 2021, I can't compare them. Maybe there is a little bit of difference in the feel, but not a major one. The string pattern is 16x20 though. So it has more control and allows me to hit more flat, direct shots without sacrificing control. The beam on the 98 is also different on the upper part of the head. It's not round, but rather flat and boxed. Looks kind of weird to be honest but it gives the racket more stability I guess.
I don't know to be honest. I didn't show the racket, I just showed picking up the racket out of the box so the only thing that was visible was the buttcap, which is always the same. I just teased the racket in a way that it creates hype for the racket and interest among players. This is something companies should welcome with opened hands, it's a free promo material. But Babolat seems to me very oldschool and oldfashioned, they think that if they reveal the racket on a certain date to the whole world, everyone will be blown away. I don't think so. It's not a new line of rackets, it's Pure Drive so there is really nothing special about it and that's why I don't understand such concern. If it was something completely new, like the RF 01 rackets from Wilson, I would understand that very well. But with a regular update that to be honest looks very similar to the previous one, it's weird that they care so much.
@@ProfDrTeomanCemKadioglu Yep, I think they just panicked little bit. To be honest. No. The racket feels the same. It's like the old 2021 version with a different paintjob. But there is a new updated NF2 Tech 2.0 technology so we will see if that has any benefits. I will have to hit couple more hours with the rackets to tell the difference.
@@CzechTennisGuy at least it did not go bad. As you know that happened with some brands many times. Of course it would be stupid to modify the best selling racquet, no need to take a risk unless a real technological break through happens.

Babolat should learn from head. Head blacked out sneak peak gravity every where. Secret reviews are keeping it hyped.
