Really enjoyed this. I've been on the Epic twice and think she is a great ship. She's got lots of quirks for sure. However the venues are so large. The lines you experienced were crazy. I never experienced things like that but I cruised Epic before the "free" drinks package. So happy to see you guys exploring and enjoying your retirement.

I really like NCL a lot. I am looking forward to more cruises on this line in the future.

We sailed her in 2022 out of Rome. Wasn’t a fan of the wavy cabin walls but the ship was clean, crew very friendly and the food was great. Our balcony was huge but never used it. Entertainment was top notch.

I am glad that you had a great trip on this ship. The setup of the cabins was very weird but I think if people can get past that they would enjoy it. Thanks for your comment and safe travels.

My wife and I are thinking of booking a Mediterranean cruise on the Epic next October. Excellent review! How did you get the upgrade offer? Also, your voice is very soothing! Thanks again!

Thanks for your comment. As far as the upgrade offer, the ship wasn't completely full and they had a lot of single passengers on that voyage. So they upgraded us to a balcony and put the single individual in our original interior cabin. I don't know if that is common for transatlantic off season cruises. Hopefully we can do another repositioning cruise in the future. Safe travels.

The first drawer you opened is for wet towels.

Good to know. We have another cruise with them later this year and the storage was great on this ship. Thanks for watching.

I loved my vacation to Italy but got motion sickness on way home ... never thought it would happen

Motion sickness is the worst! The sea bands help a lot, and I try to put them on before we start sailing. But sometimes the seas are so rough that you just have to get through it. However, I will still travel despite that and I hope you will too. Thanks for watching.

Good video. We were on the Norwegian Epic in February 2023. While the ship is relatively new, there are significant problems that will impact your cruise. First, we really disliked the set up of the toilet and the shower in the stateroom. It was OK as we traveled as a couple but had I brought a friend, there was a total lack of privacy. Second, the entertainment venues on the Epic are small for a ship that size. If the ship is crowded, those venues are often filled an hour before the performance.
We did not like the service on the ship but that is another issue.

Thanks so much for your comments. I agree that the bathroom set up is not great if you are traveling with a friend because of the lack of privacy. The lines for the shows were long but I thought that it was due to the fact that we had so many sea days but that may not be the case. Thanks for watching and for your support. Take care.

I like this design and encore and bliss a lot better than the new prima/viva ships.

The new ships are huge but I would like to try to cruise on them some day. Thanks so much for your comment. Safe travels.

You should go from Europe to the USA. The time lays is a lot easier.

We will try that in the future. Thanks for the tip!

We have cruised with 6 cruise lines, and have wanted to do NCL… we do balcony or suites only.
The Epic has intrigued me, but that bathroom set up for the balcony cabins is a deal breaker for me.
Not only am I germaphobe about handwashing and that outside the toilet room sink, but I also hate the idea of sleeping in a bedroom where sewer gases can come up from the sink or shower. Yuck. Ship plumbing is always a problem as it is, without sleeping next to an open pipe.
Total dealbreaker, even though I love the layout of the ship.

Thanks for your comment. The cabin bathroom on this ship is a major issue for a lot of people. We learned to live with it though it was not ideal. Take care and safe travels.
