Finally someone who shares the Truth without any personal agenda and with full respect for Righteousness in all scriptures Abrahamic and Non Abrahamic.
The Quran is the update of the software of the human practices to fix bugs for most conducive functioning of mind, body and soul without being in " reactive" mode.
    Thank you Dr Lumbard.

This is a subject that has been on my mind for some time. I completely agree that the Quran should take precedence over all other things. I don't think any Muslim would actually contest that but despite this many people continue to use hadith and scholarly opinions to modify or constrain the meanings of the Quran. I am not a Quranist but I truly believe that the Quran deserves to be taken more seriously than anything else.
By the way The Study Quran is very helpful to me. I read it everyday. Thank you for all your hard work in writing it.

How do you feel about some words in the Quran being translated according to Hadiith and not according to linguistic definition.

Thank you Sir for this excellent talk. Your inter-religious/scriptural commentary of the Quran is refreshing and much needed in a fractured world.

A great talk...I love your fair understanding of the 'message' of the Quran ... the topic is very important ...Diversity and Pluralism is a fact, it is there in life and in nature ... All that God and Quran wants is to be good and act good (عملوا الصالحات)... and do not make corruption (ولا تفسدوا)... To give one'Face to God (بلا من أسلم وجهه لله ..)...and you were right to interpret the 'Face' with identity, or integrity or personality .. Indeed we recognize each other through one's Face! ... Well done Professor, God bless you .

Excellent truthful interpretation. Islam only can contain all world religions and it's varied people, to march to Peace and success. Congratulations. Thanks.

Re: the hadith which says that Muslims will follow the Jews and Christians.. Mufti Abu Layth interprets this to mean that Muslims will institutionalise their religion just as Jews and Christians have done. I think that is very similar to what you explained in the video Prof Lumbard.

I enjoy the fresh perspective you bring, never illustrated better than in your exposition of this topic. Muslim exceptionalism is bizarre when viewed through this prism; it's as if Jannah has a limited number of spaces and God's Rahma is limited to what His creation believes. I look forward you your videos, so keep up the good work, mashallah. It is an antidote to the strain of Hanbali literalism coming out of the US, tempered by the wearing of preppy cardigans. I must voice one disappointment, though. You should have stayed silent about Tariq Ramadan, who has been hoist by his own petard.
