i'll retract what I said, I guess it could be considered a live service game. however, regardless of where updates were more constant doesn't matter as it was getting updates since launch is my point.
Yes, it was abandoned for a certain period of time but halo mcc did get updates before 2018. They didnt just launch the game and not try. The fixes they applied just didnt work. Game has been up and running for 10 years. I'm not going to excuse 343's bad years. It even got halo 3 odst added during sometime in 2015
@@LostODST They did launch the game and *not* try, wtf do you mean? It released as probably the most broken and half-assed game ever made, the fixes didn't work because 343 realised the game would need an entire revamp to even be functional so they added ODST and abandoned the entire thing (which was already abandoned) for Halo 5. They only got it functional in 2018 for Xbox One X sales and actually fixed it during the PC roll-out.
That’s a shame. Theres still various things that need to be fixed. In addition to Digsite and Halo Online content. Definitely, explains why we haven’t gotten anything major in a while. Hopefully, this isn’t truly the end of MCC’s support.
I think they should extend support until 2025 because there’s still a lot of big bugs that are affecting everything and also a halo 3 remake has been being asked for by the community over the past 4 years. If it comes to it adding micro transaction will be our only hope
4 years old, not 10 .. they just started to fix their mess 4 years ago, and even if it was the case ... halo legacy deserves better , and even more preservation , this collection right here should be 343's baby ...since they drop the ball in every mainline halo entry after halo reach and more if the OG old halo's servers are down ..this collection is the only and last way to play & experience true halo.
Why do people believe mcc didn't come out in 2014? It did receive updates before. The fixes they applied just didn't work during that time. Other than that I do agree with preserving it's legacy
Its all women and woke diversity hires now. Not the scraggly, hungry, passionate nerdy white guy developers from the 2000s that cared and were competent.
I mean there's no other collection out there like this. unfortunately they were too ambitious with this, which lead to so many years of trying to fix it. When it launched on pc is where they actually took time with each game.
They need to fix the game before they stop updating it. If you try to play Halo 2's campaign in anniversary graphics on an xbox one x or series x, the game drops to sub 20fps most of the time. This shouldn't be happening on the most powerful console ever made or its older brother. There is also a lot of stuttering in the campaigns of Halo CE and 3 while playing on series x. The majority of people think MCC is fixed but it's far from being fixed and in some ways, performs worse now on xbox than it did before they released it on PC. Also, the fact that xbox does not get access to any digsite content is absurd. 343 have seemingly abandoned their console fanbase and catered to the PC minority when they need to be catering to everyone. Their needs to be complete reciprocity between both versions of the game. They should also implement a 343 favorites type of service for downloading mods on console. A few other games do something similar to this, mainly snowrunner, and it would only benefit further longevity of MCC.
Yeah I’ve been playing halo 2 anniversary graphics campaign on a Xbox series s and have noticed frame drops out of nowhere and one time I completely crashed
I'd like to make it clear that Halo 2 came out 10 years ago. The Master Chief collection has only been out for a couple of years. And no I will not be taking for the questions thank you for your understanding.
@@LostODST maybe referring to the anniversary edition and when the mcc was in a working state being it I was almost unplayable(literally) for a few years?
@@xenosayain1506 lol it doesn't change the fact it released about 10 years ago, there was a few updates, not many but there was some trying to fix it. Idk why people can't accept this game released in 2014 and had updates since.
seriously what is everyone expecting? they continuously dump resources into a 10-year-old game? besides bug fixes there isn't really anything else they can add. we have mcc as it is now, which is great. and if we really want more, they gave us the mod tools to keep these games alive for even longer. it's time to move on and 343 and Microsoft clearly think the same.

Ehh, it was originally supposed to be only about chief, reach and odst were extra. I would definitely like to see halo 5 added but thats a huge beast of a game

Even I will be modding halo MCC. It isn't over yet. I haven't even ported the AVP 2010 weapons and enemies... Yet.
All I want is the H2 E3 mission before they go, been waiting.
After 4 years… not 10. It didn’t start live-service support until Reach launched on PC.

I hope we atleast get cross platform campaign if they’ll do one final update
Honestly the stubby AR in the thank you card is kinda cool. Would be a fun alt to the smg
there is a weapon model in infinite that looks like it
so many things to fixed yet they cannot do it completely before abandoning it
343 took ten years to update mcc to the state it should have been released
343 has to be the most garbage lazy dev ever

Correction: it took 10 years to get into a playable state. It is still not in that good of a state. 343 is the worst developer, not the laziest.
