The sign behind Gene says it all: "WE HAVE NO SHAME" and I'm so glad they didn't. Chuck, Gene and the whole crew gave me so much happiness as a teenager and that joy continues into my 60s.
I was an exchange student at a High School in Rochester NY in ‘79. Never seen anything like it before, and seen nothing like it since. Brilliant. Clapping in time with Chuck cracked me up every time. Genius.

Same here. Running home from school to catch TGS
Everybody I knew loved Gene Gene. How could you not? BTW, Barris was an amazing dancer. Such spontaneous outrageous FUN!
I think Gene's cap and jacket should be in the Smithsonian
Absolutely!
Agreed!
Touche
Isn't it?
R.I.P. Chuck Barris, & Gene Gene The Dancing Machine!!!?
Always my fav part of the show is when he came out
Watched this as a little boy, love when people say I have a strange sense of humor...Chuck Barris is my hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved Chuck. Such a unique sense of humor. I LOVED the patented clap and point.
Never be another Chuck
Now, he & Gene are doing the same together in the Great Beyond.

Great trumpet solo
He was an NBC stagehand.
The good old days!!!
That tune is hypnotic
Yes indeed, the shamelessness of classic comedy! I'll take that any day!
2:24 Jamie Farr, Jaye P. Morgan and Allen Ludden dancing
I dare you to watch this and not smile
Wow - Allen Ludden was really into the spirit of things.
Wonder if Betty White ever appeared as a judge on here. Her & Allen together on any show were dynamite.
Gotta love into it the audience was...
I'd like to see Gene Gene the disco machine
The host can dance!!
Brought to you by... THE NATIONAL PORK COUNCIL
🤣🤣🤣
The anti-game show. What a glorious train wreck.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug!
Markie Post is in this @ 2:29?
yes, she did Chuck’s introductions a few times in late ‘77 / early ‘78
@@robertb4781 I'd have never known! She became a gorgeous when she was on Night Court.
@@robertb4781 Thanks Robert. I had no idea! She was a teenage crush of mine. Just scorching, and naturally funny too. RIP.
Never knew
They had no shame in comedy back then - And they SHOULDN'T have any now! But hey, that was then and this is now. lol
The egomaniacal Chuck Barris took over the show. The acts were funnier than he was.
