White Rice Easy Recipe - Beginner Friendly

  • Bonjour Everyone! Today I will show you the simple and right way to make basic white rice.
    Ingredients:
    Rice
    Salt (optional garlic powder)
    Oil or butter
    First wash the rice with cold water. Rub the rice in your hands to properly wash, drain the water, and repeat until the rice water is clear.
    In a pot, for every 1 cup of rice, add 1.5 cups of water on medium high heat ( 5/6 setting) Add salt and other seasonings to your desired taste. Then add about a tablespooon of oil, mix, and bring the water to a boil.
    Add the rice to boiling water and cook on medium high heat for about 10 minutes or until all of the water is completely absorbed into the rice.
    Next, bring the heat down to a low setting, cover the rice with a lid and let it steam for 20-25 minutes. Voila! Perfect white rice.
    Tips: If your rice comes out too mushy, you’ve added too much water. If the rice comes out hard, you overcooked it on medium high heat. For healthier option, use virgin olive oil. For defined texture, mix jasmine and basmati rice together.
