The yellow manual, _Directions of Playing Mah-Jong_ , seems to come w/ every set. When I got my first set (c. 1997), I found the English in it to be so bad, I had to buy a book in a store to get a proper understanding of the game.
Hi! Please can you help us with how to use the Wind Indicator? (the one that slips into the round holder - like ours) I mean; how and when is it rotated, and how does it work within the game? Many Thanks.
the wind/round is advanced when the first dealer is the East seat again (whoever was East first is East again). This is usually after four hands, unless someone wins as East (in which case, in many styles, they remain East for the next hand). Running counter clockwise, the seats are E-S-W-N, with East being the dealer. The round advances in the same order, E-S-W-N.
I have been trying to track an 'Original East' indicator for literal years. Anyone know where I can get one? Also, why does the wind indicator die have the symbols for the red and green dragons? Not all of them have them.
Sorry for the late response. I found some of the "original east" triangles on Aliexpress. It's just a bit hard to search for them. Probably searching "mahjong accessory" or searching the riichi sticks and then going through the suggestions might work. About the dragon symbols on the indicator dice, I also have no clue on why they're there. Probably to occupy blank spaces.

It would be best if you had kept making videos on the Chinese variant of Mahjong. There ain't enough quality tutorials on youtube these days.

Please tell viewers where you bought your booklet for 'Standard Rules for the Chinese Domino Game of Mah Jong.' Thank you!
That doesn’t look like 90 degrees and it bothers me.
