I (INTJ) was not a full time manager but I was lead on a project. I had some people that were lazy working underneath me. My INTJ attitude was if people arent doing their jobs then just fire them. I was told though it was my job to inspire and motivate them to do better as the leader. That idea bugged me. I am not sure I have the patience for that. I had to work with another manager to get one of them fired. It was my call. The bummer was the person I had fired was the person who got me the job. They never knew I had them fired. I couldnt help it though they were ditching work. :(
@@GhostofJung I was conflicted but if you are taking extra long lunches and not helping me and may even make me look bad I had to do something. Deep down I know they didnt really want to work here anymore. Ultimately they went on to better things so it was the kick in the pants they needed. The other person who was lazy I just minimized how much I used him on the project. I dont think I would do well managing bad workers. I would be too cut throat. The good workers though I respected and spoke highly about to others and they liked me to.
Introverted Intuition (Ni) is Strategic SORCERY... ... ... as the world has of yet to know our secret. Carl Jung was very very close. I'm fed up with Ni's overactive imagination and all off its "Could be"...as well as feeling out of body every moment of the day...but, I obsess over its strategy. Being a WIZARD is interesting...and unsettling.
Congratulations on the opportunity. It will be apparent very early on that your applied efficiencies won't gel. That is a crux and pivot of unneeded dialogue. Micromanaging INTJs are the worst and ultimately counterproductive. Establish a baseline as a resource and set benchmarks. Go from there.
@GhostofJung Yeah. I remember the same turmoil you are presented with. It was a revelation in not application and policing it, but awareness and knowing when to step in. You will do fine.
You are no longer the star. Your job is enabling, supporting and championing a team of stars. TeFi + emotional agility = plenty. No Fe is required. Your job is managing expectations and uplifting others in alignment with the orgs "Fi reason for being".

That is a terrible situation. You must have been conflicted right? Did you try to motivate them or what happened?

You should write a book.
Only an idiot would do that

That's my plan. Thanks for the heads up! Are you an INTJ manager?

@@jeffshaw674 Will have to let you know - thank you for the confidence and insight my friend!

Ok I like that. So the first thing is hiring stars in the first place! And then building, growing, mentoring them.
