Idk the exact size but where I currently live 650$ gets me a restroom that is larger than her kitchen+restroom and every other room is bigger than her entire apartment. I'd love to live in Japan but it could never be in Tokyo XD tbh at my size I literally wouldn't be able to fit in the loft.
Natasha here! It was super fun finally getting to see Alex’s place & she was the sweetest to give me that Tiger balm???? 🥵❤️ Hope you guys enjoyed the video!
Thanks for featuring my home you guys! For those who are wondering, the rent does not include utility bills suchs as water, gas, electricity & WIFI. Those come up to about ¥10,000 per month - for me at least. It's higher during winter.
I like how there’s a door between the kitchen and the rest of the apartment, it helps a smaller space seem larger. Been seeing more and more loft bedrooms in smaller apartments that also help them seem more roomier
Never thought you’d be able to get a flat this size in Tokyo for 650 a month! Cute little flat! I love the desk area, what a shame the kitchen is so small though!
My dad lived in Singapore for several years as a child and the only thing he brought back was an appreciation of tiger balm. I also use it for absolutely everything!
Out near Boston or even in Boston 650 usd, could get you a shared house or apartment so you have a bed room that's private, a shared kitchen n restroom. Apartment wise not too far off but no door separating the kitchen from the other rooms unless lucky, some do most don't.
Honestly despite the kitchen stove and the stupid sink to cookingspace ratio ... this apartment is just fine! I mean its really cheap for that size and location! Also I like the loft and your work desk a lot!
here in switzerland you also have to pay for "oversized" items by weight to get them trashed, so people will very often give second hand furniture to the thrift store or give them away for free online. putting them by the roadside with a hastily scrawled paper that says "free" on it is also a popular choice.
I have enjoyed several of your videos, you girls have good personalities with each other, and when you interact it's funny sometimes. here in the USA, our bathroom has both a toilet and a tub, plus a sink. My house has two bathrooms I have a big soaking tub in my room plus a shower stall and a toilet, my other one has just a toilet and a tub, plus a sink. I have 7 kitties that have their own room with two 80" cat trees, plus two Litter Robots (which cost $ 550 US each, which is approx 61,721 Yen.) because it saves me money. You see before I was using about 175#/month of cat litter, and had to clean their litter box several times per day. Now with the Litter Robots, I am using about 42#/month, and I do not have to clean their box about twice a week because they clean themselves. Worth every penny. And, yes they are spoiled rotten!
For $650, you would get a small room in a flat/houseshare in London (zone 2 or 3 if lucky, not central London). Alex seems to make the most of her space though, super impressed she's so creative! Also, now I know I need a snack bar :)
2-3 rooms around 60 squaremeters where I live. This would be around 300 Euro a month. Tokyo is quiet expensive...I like what she did with the apartment!
From my own experience and everyone I spoke to here, Tokyo is very affordable compared to London. You can find decent places for a wide range of prices.
I like the kitchen has a door, open-plan living has it's negatives. I need to get me a black mug like Natasha's... Don't touch me peasant. 😆 Tiger Balm reminds me of my Grandma & I need some. Also I'm going to use that lemonade recipe, thank u.
Wow it’s a decent amount of space for a studio. I’m in around 20-24m2 space but I do have a larger kitchen area and I’d consider my place to not be overly small or cramped
These videos give me hope that I can live abroad on a relitivley affoardable budget! I don't mind a sall space, and she made everything look so personal and pretty.
I just watched all the tc homes videos and I love how every single one is so cute and unique and everybody did a great job decorating. at the same time I'm horrified at the rent and people even commenting how cheap it is. here in Germany I have 130 m2 +balcony +garden + 2 garages +double carport and we're paying 1100$ including all utilities. we're living about 15 minutes from the city centre (so not countryside or anything) I'd probably be instantly broke in Japan or most other places you guys are from 😅 hats off for being able to afford that, you must all work so hard 💪
Income level typically matches rent price. I'm in Central California which is a less desirable part of our state and a studio apartment not in a horrible part of town would. be around $1100.00 and drastically more for somewhere like LA or San Francisco. So for someone coming from an area like this that is a cheap price for a metropolis like Tokyo.
Huh. Everyone keeps talking about how living in tokyo is crazy expensive. But this is WAY cheaper than LA. I paid 650 to rent a bedroom during my college days. Is this an exception?
I think my place is slightly smaller and cost about 545$ while being located 45 mins from the center of Copenhagen, it is student housing though, so you may even be able to find something cheaper as a student (I'm told I didn't get such a good deal haha) but if not, even for a room you're likely looking at around 650-700 bucks and for a one bedroom apartment it's around 1200 bucks maybe slightly less but yeah... It can get expensive...
I mean... I could definitely stay in an apartment like this for several years. Like, I the kinda guy that doesn't take up alot of space, so this kind of small little living space is so neat. And not to mention, it'd probably take me just a good hour to clean. It feels so neat and comfy.
Thank you so much for the links! As soon as the travel ban is lifted between Japan and the US I’ll be moving, and I’m a huge fan of secondhand everything! ❤️
I've always wondered why Natasha's face is familiar. Turns out she resembles Oonishi Saori, the voice actress (Einz Wallenstein from Danmachi, Hisako Arato from Food Wars!), a whole lot. You both are gorgeous. 💕
I pay roughly 650 a month... for the mortgage on my 110m2 attached house with 2 floors, 3 bedrooms and a spacious attic. XD And I live just outside of my city's center so it's quiet enough to be a nice place to live but also close enough to the city center that you can go there by foot (~10 minute walk).
omg Tiger Balm!!! xD I am german and my mother always got it...but not in such a big jar. We had like little red /Lip Balm" sizes metal jar thingies...xD Just hinking about it, I can already smell it. Also the appartment seems super nice, tho would be way to small for my spoiled self x'D
During the kitchen part of the tour, I wondered if Alex had a rice cooker somewhere (if yes, only having one burner is no biggy; if no, that's hardship!). So I was glad to spot it next to her desk :).This was really fun to watch! And I was just watching tiny houses before, so this fit right in :). Out of curiosity, because I don't know/remember: what does Alex do at TC? Oh, and I also love woks but I've never seen oen with a lid like that. Does it help steam things inside or something?
In New Zealand we have such a housing problem. In fact in the next 10 years housing prices will double again and the average house to buy and own would around be $1.4 million dollars!!! (If you live in a really popular main city it would be even more!) Barley anyone can rent anywhere anymore either without going on a benefit, finding a better job or flatting or staying with your parent/parents! I wish we had cheaper more living like this. These days even for something crappy that no one would want to live in costs $400-$500 a week! I would totally live in a nice place like this happily and pay $65O per month!
I lived in 35 mq2 (that looked waaay bigger than her appartment! but the bathroom was a similar box) in Ebisu for about 2000$/month (12 years ago). Her´s looks pretty cozy though. How far out is her place? Where do you look for cheap appartments in Tokyo?
Hi! If it’s alright, where did you find the apartment? Like was it an online site or did you have a real estate agent help you? Hey! I had a real estate agent to search for me since many housings are very selective on who they rent it to;foreigners/locals. Checkout XG Japan :) Plus side, they also speak English. Good luck!
What did you think of Alex's apartment? What kind of space could you get in your country with $650? Let us know!
like 6 times the size :-D
i currently stay in singapore.. with $650 you'd probably get a small room... kitchen/toilet and living room are all shared areas.. =/
Where I live, if I could only afford 650 a month, I would be homeless.
The only thing I can get for 650$ is debt :'(
Idk the exact size but where I currently live 650$ gets me a restroom that is larger than her kitchen+restroom and every other room is bigger than her entire apartment. I'd love to live in Japan but it could never be in Tokyo XD tbh at my size I literally wouldn't be able to fit in the loft.

I love you
You are the best!
it before cost of insure... and more bullshit...
Love this video! Seeing different living space and styles in Japan is awesome! (Also, I think you ARE a celebrity Natasha!!!)
That south east asian bond over Tiger Balm is real. Totally.
Thanks for featuring my home you guys! For those who are wondering, the rent does not include utility bills suchs as water, gas, electricity & WIFI. Those come up to about ¥10,000 per month - for me at least. It's higher during winter.
Do you have maggi &milo?
@@yagooatthegoat ran out of it 2 months ago 😢
@@AlexLeeFilms shiori husband got any stock? He also Malaysian i think, I don't know if they have stock of foreign snacks in shops sold in japan 🤔.
@@AlexLeeFilms Oh wow. Both are actually pretty popular in Sri Lanka as well
I expected her kitchen would be a little bit bigger since she seemed cooking delicious food all the time! Sugooooi Alex ❤️
it japan... most people don't cook in that small room.. you just looking for fire harzard and whatever saving money you will lose...
I would feel claustrophobic. It doesn't even have an oven D:
I like how there’s a door between the kitchen and the rest of the apartment, it helps a smaller space seem larger. Been seeing more and more loft bedrooms in smaller apartments that also help them seem more roomier
Also good for keeping cooking smells from getting trapped up in the loft area. Unless the cooking took place in the microwave oven.
"This is something we use a lot (shows Tiger Balm)"
Ah yes, a true Asian indeed
My little OCD heart is bursting with appreciation for Alex's organisational skills 😄
The panic when the tiger balm fell! I feel you, it's magic!
My favorite thing about Alex's apartment is Alex :3
They vibe pretty well. Would like to see the two in a future video project.
my favourite thing about this video is Alex
Alex is so cute! What a great way to make use of some limited space. Thanks, Natasha!
Never thought you’d be able to get a flat this size in Tokyo for 650 a month! Cute little flat! I love the desk area, what a shame the kitchen is so small though!
Love the apartment tours. She organized the space very well and I love her desk. No sacrifice by trying to cram into a tiny work space.
Her place is so cute. I love when you show us Japanese apartments.
My dad lived in Singapore for several years as a child and the only thing he brought back was an appreciation of tiger balm. I also use it for absolutely everything!

been waiting for this video ever since you mentioned it in the earthquake long life food video!!!! Thank you!! Lovely cozy apartment!!

Thanks for a very heartwarming video from 2 exceptional youtubers.
Yassssss I've been waiting to see Alex's place! OCD organizational skills on point. Her fiance is a lucky guy! Alex sooo kawaii 😍
The drink looked so good I had to make it. I didn't have any cucumbers, but it still came out good!
The place looks organised and so cozy! Loved it!
Oh yeah, tigerbalm. I am always stocked up. It is so soothing when you are in pain. It even helps me to fall asleep.
dang, that bed tho. The child in me would kill for that
Forreal, but I’d end up falling off. Somehow...
Love the little spice containers on the fridge! Great idea. 👏 Also love the otter toy. 😊
That spice magnet box is dope!

I LOVE ALEX'S CRIBBBBBBB
The only thing even close to the same level of Tiger Balm is Salonpas.
That's also good, though. I got a friend here that asks me to hose his back down with the stuff occasionally. I've used it once or twice. :)
Indomie Mi Goreng is 100% the best. Happy I found a place that has it in the states a few months ago.

There are no livable spaces for $650 a mo. here in Chicago, very cute space. You fiancee is a lucky man, best of luck!

Excellent video! I love small spaces. And I love that black cup she gave you 🤣
So how do the people react to the arm tattoos?
these two are so fun!!
Tiger Balm! I grew up with the stuff, too (and still use it from time to time). I think it smells nice :)
I've always wondered why Natasha's face is familiar. Turns out she resembles Oonishi Saori, the voice actress (Einz Wallenstein from Danmachi, Hisako Arato from Food Wars!), a whole lot. You both are gorgeous. 💕

You guys are so nice! Love you! Alex's place is lovely and funktional! Thank you for the secondhand tips!
Fantastic tokyo life 🌸 😊🇯🇵
Dawg, Alex's sleeve is dope AF
It's so easy to find tiger balm here in the UK; reading the comments section, I had no idea it's hard to find in so many other countries!?!
Larger than my studio when I used to live in Amsterdam. I had literally 10-12sqm and was paying over 1000Euro but it was right in the city centre.
Interesting! The kitchen is near the door. Instead of near the windows. What is the logic behind this? Maybe the exhaust fan near the entrance?
I love this segment!!!
Genuinely a really fun video! Haha
Hello, does anybody know if the price has utilities included (eletricity, gas, water)?
Hi! Water, gas, electricity bills are a different stort:) they come up to about ¥7000 and higher in winter
Natasha, not to be *that* weirdo-stranger, but I love ya girl!! You are always so energetic and funny! I hope to be more like you someday.
Love the loft. I think I could live there though not what we're used to living in the Caribbean
The red tiger balm slaps
Hi Alex! Where did you get your green pants from ? Love the colour!
i love seeing natasha host a few videos here and there!! 😍 will we get a tour of her new apartment next? i want to know all her plant names 🤣

I love tiny houses series! And yes, this wok could also be used for steaming, with an added stand inside :)
Because of the limited space, I have seen people that have to put their frig in the bedroom.
You might be able to find a room in an apartment for $650 in Boston, or a studio in the metro area. Most likely a larger studio than 30m^2 though.
At first I was like, man 600, where I used to live semi in the country our huge house was 800, but then I saw in tokyo and was just baffled!
9:31 that tiger balm!😍 hehe my dad really loves that, very nice pain killer👍 one of awesome souvenirs from singapore😁

Alex looks amazing her fiancee is a lucky guy
I love the art work on her arm
I want to go to college in japan i thought it would be 1800 for a month but this was a nice surprise.
I saw Natasha and instantly assumed “Girl, we’re not looking to spend almost $700 just to live with 12 people!” 🤣
I just love places with lofts
I had to search if Tiger Balm actually had tiger in it, I was about to go full rant mode! I'm glad that it doesn't xD
Great editing!
