Anytime a black film or tv project has the audacity to be a little surreal, artistic or truly creative you can count on this podcast to bury it. It’s funny Joe complained about Sutherland’s character giving some exposition because unless some shit is spoon fed to him via a static narrative, he shits on it.
There was satire even in that! It hits on the point that white people (watching the movie) won't understand or believe what's happening unless it came from him, a white guy). Btw Kiefer Sutherland was awesome in this role.
Why every time a black film gets negative reviews people start throwing this around? Maybe it was just trash… Like plenty of other movies with white folks they reviewed. It’s like some ppl want others to say, oh that’s a black film lets go around saying it was the most amazing movie ever. 😂.
@@NYGiants4Life Except these criticisms are bs. Nahhh i disagree, this movie was awesome. It was conceptually thought provoking, nostalgic and something different than the wash, rinse and repeat movies we see on a regular. I agree with Mel that energy was intentional…
It's okay to not like something but at least have a logical reason. Two people in the room openly admit to not liking the genre of the film. Any kind of rating they give is irrelevant after that is revealed. Parks said it could have been funnier. While it had humorous elements, it's not a comedy so faulting it for that is nonsense. He also felt that the plot was revealed too early, which I don't believe it was, but that's still a weird criticism. He also say that the film could have leaned more into the sci-fi aspect, but how? The film was pretty deep info sci-fi if you ask me. The tweet that's mentioned in the end proves how brilliant the film is to me.
I had the opposite reaction. From the beginning i wasnt into it, but as the movie progressed I was impressed. It started with the neighborhood homeless man at the liquor that gives real wisdom, but some people pass it off as gibberish because they are just going to pass by anyway. Then i thought The preacher who preaches a sermon to keep people so docile because "it dont matter" was deep from the perspective of how misdirected some churches are with their message. Its really a movie that you watch two or three times and see different things you didnt catch from the first time.
How was it deep? It doesn't pertain to reality at all. It's just a movie about blax complaining about an imaginary Boogeyman like y'all do in real life 😂
Numbskulls, this movie is deeper than just entertainment. Also Fox and ms Marvel was hella funny in this. My only question is did the clones ever see their mum or was it always just a tape recorder
