When OG Fontaine says “assimilation is better than annihilation” , I can’t help thinking about Eric Kilmonger’s last words “death is better than bondage”. These two phrases are the complete opposite of each other. That’s why we love Kilmonger❤
Frog is such an interesting character to me because of the final reveal at the end. They would have been somewhat similar in age, so maybe frog was involved in some ways at the beginning, he knew what was going on all along
Yess thank you I feel nobody talking about this movie and it was good ( I have some idea why probably doesn't get talk about) but not going go there but thank for showing love
Thank you for covering They Cloned Tyrone. This is awesome. My Frog theory is, he has never been cloned, an original. He represents the old man in the hood has seen the holes in society. So he's almost always drunk, drinking, or high. Seems like a blight on society until you talk to him. Then you find out they have had a lot of experience in the world and very perceptive. They literally actively interact with the world around them peep everything, quick.
Then how do you explain the other Frog in LA outside the store? I think they just never needed to replace the originals (because no one would listen to him anyway) like they did the others, so he knew what was happening.
When he opened his mom's door and I cried so hard because it broke my heart. Like, I knew she wasn't there but... just got me thinking about how i miss my mom 🙏🏾
this was a fun movie, I enjoyed it very much. Considering Jamie Foxx's recent health issue, I am surprised it did not have more buzz. The 3 main characters were all great.
Love that y'all decided to break this down! Love that Jess did the breakdown! Love the context from Juel (who I didn't know lived in the Gump)! I watched this movie twice the weekend it released and its super scary how realistic it really seemed. A beautifully crafted movie with great characters and even better casting!
@@ayana9490 It has a replay value forreal. It's so good. And I have seen Sorry To Bother You and I loved that too! Loved the quirky storytelling but it's realistic as hell too
One thing I love about the movie is the fact that it’s impossible to pinpoint when or where. Like they drive and have technology from the 80s but then turns around and they mention stuff like Apple Pay
I am so glad you guys are reviewing this. I was for sure no one would talk about it but this movie is full of so many hidden details and references to older films it needs to be looked at with a microscope!
WTF THANK YOU JESS!!!!!!! last night I literally was thinking "damn...I wish NR made a TCT breakdown" Because this movie was amazing both funny, serious, PHENOMENAL ACTING!!!.... great moments, heartfelt dialogue etc. and who doesn't love Jamie Fox??? good looks & good job on the breakdown gang💯👍🔥
@09:34 - Jedi Mind Tricks - "I Against I" (feat. Planetary of Outerspace) .. A Double Entendre (Or StarWars for those that are not Hip Hop Heads) - A clone fighting themselves, hence "I Against I"
First, I’m soooooooo happy Jessica did this breakdown!!!! This movie was absolutely Ogus!!! I’m going to have to rewatch it now that I realized I missed a bunch of stuff.
So glad to see you guys branch away from only marvel/disney projects more and more recently. I feel like this was such a refreshing yet underrated movie that many aren’t talking about. Glad to see you guys coving it!!
Think my favorite part of the movie was that u couldn’t tell what time period it was in, I started to think it was 70s-80s but then they reference 50 cent getting shot, just love that it keeps you in the dark
This movie was so awesome! I must point out that when I started the film, I was thinking about Call Tyrone and that remake in the credits cracked me tf up
I'm so mad I missed that Anaconda Malt Liquor easter egg, I even thought about it when Fontaine kept getting the 40 but it never occured to me that it was ACTUALLY Anaconda
I love that they’re doing this movie, never thought I’d see the day. Also love that the breakdown by Jess was like any other NR breakdown of a tv series or movie!
Aye I’m so glad you all did this and Jessica was a great choice!!! My little brother didn’t notice Juvenile’s Back that a$$ up in the church but died laughing when I pointed it out. Did anyone else just know ot was gonna be David Alan Grier the moment I heard there was a church. This is one of my all time favorite movies 😂😂
I just watched this movie last night, and really loved it! I've also been working on finishing up a watch through of Atlanta, so this slipped in really nicely, and I've been finding Afro-Surrealism such an interesting topic to delve into.
omg, i'm so happy to see this movie being covered. new rockstars was one of my first reaction channels i thought about, who i hoped would cover this amazing movie.
I didn't know anything about this film, so when I saw this video in my notifications I looked it up saw that John Boyega was in it (an brilliant actor, loved him in attack the block), and I watched the film outright, just finished it, watched the breakdown. worth it!

im a 31 yr old white man and i ABSOLUTELY loved this movie. dont matter ur ethnicity to enjoy this film and i recommend it to whoever. saw this video pop up.. watched the trailer said fuck it and watched the movie lol just finished it and came back to watch the breakdown. I PROMISE U ITS WORTH THE 2 HOURS. was just a damn good movie in general and the social commentary and the way its presented was super unique and i enjoyed every minute of it. the main 3 cast members ALL killed it. SO GLAD TO SEE JOHN IN ANOTHER FILM. teyonah was really good and u already KNOW jaimie fox is gonna be elite every time lol. great chemistry between the 3 all put into a great story. solid 8 out of 10 but 10 out of 10 for a good movie to watch if u dont have something else to watch
I just saw the movie and I'm so glad I did. This movie was phenomenal. It felt like a spiritual successor to "Sorry To Bother You" in the sense of some elite secret group manipulating communities. I know it doesn't need a sequel but I'd love to see it. Hell they could do an animated series of Fontaine, Yo-Yo, and Slick going around the country, freeing clones, and shutting down the facilities. Also I wanna know what was up with Frog. Like was that dude in on it the whole time? Or was he just coincidentally saying things to Fontaine that fit what he was experiencing? And that whole thing with his Mom just being a speaker behind a door was wild.
When OG Fontaine says “assimilation is better than annihilation” , I can’t help thinking about Eric Kilmonger’s last words “death is better than bondage”. These two phrases are the complete opposite of each other. That’s why we love Kilmonger❤
Fontaine is Yakub!
Facts & you notice the different clones with lighter skin tones on the wall behind them in that room?
@@kangadonisfacts just the modern day time story
Not gonna lie New Rockstars covering They Clone Tryone is very satisfying didnt think this day would happen ✊🏾
Same!! I was praying they would!
Rockstars my favorite review channel and when i searched for a review for this movie, didnt think they would pop up

Because Netflix doesn't have a very good track record with movies

Love Teyonah Parris in anything she is in and I'm so glad to see people recognize her amazing performance in this. Such an underrated actress
I’m so glad Jessica came back to do this movie! Love it love it love it!!
I myself can confidently say, I missed her...
I was thinking the same thing I missed her
Thank god cause no one wanted to hear what EA would say

Yes!!! Jess doing the easter eggs, erik interviewing the director, more diverse representation!! Great video y'all! ❤
this was a fun movie, I enjoyed it very much. Considering Jamie Foxx's recent health issue, I am surprised it did not have more buzz. The 3 main characters were all great.
Happened right around the release and so did the writers strike so it was unfortunate timing. Great movie that will be revisited for decades to come
Movie was so mf funny😭😂

That scene with his "mom" makes me cry, everytime.
To me this is the loudest message in the film. Kinda like Smoky's mom in Friday but alot sadder.
Boyega knocked that reveal out of the park

Thank you THANK YOU Jessica for doing this break down! I could watch They Cloned Tyrone over and over it’s so good!
Loved the breakdown and covering the detail. If nobody got us, Jess got us!
Clicked on this video because I saw Jessica in the thumbnail. We need more Jessica again!

They should cast John Boyega as Kang, not to replace Jonthan Major but to cast as one of the kangs.

Juel and the directing team playing _Knuck If You Buck_ to hype the actors up for the lab destruction scene was its own form of mind control.
It lowkey reminded me of a dnd session with each party member having a different speciality I loved it!
I didn't even realise the cameo!!! Oh I love this movie so so much too!!😅
Thank you for doing the review and touching on social topics thats clearly ignored on other channels!
Jessica is back!!! Did not see the movie but I’d watch Jessica breakdown “Attack of the killer tomato’s” anytime she does a breakdown I’m down ❤ Jess
Yay, Jessica!! Good to see ya, girl!! And yes, the movie was really good!! It needs a clone, I mean, sequel.
