Ultimately, variety kit n°1 is great as a proof of concept. I'd love for more switch games to explore that "add 5$ to the boxed version pricetag to get some cheap cardboard to add on your controllers to create completely new control schemes", but I honestly don't think much if any games will try that out - even after the relative success of Labo.
To me, Labo is Link's crossbow training's big plasticy rifle, but with cheap cardboard instead of costly plastic, and the fun of making it, too. It genuinely has potential, but what are the odds anybody's going to try following in Nintendo's footsteps here?

I don’t think they really want other companies to copy them. they just do stuff cause they wanna. other companies just copy them when they wanna get some money from the idea too

Wouᴉʞɐ MONIKA ɒʞinom I hope there isn't a BoTW2. BoTW was fun from what I have played of it but I think Nintendo would be better off trying to mix the old with the new when it comes to 3D Zelda. Or maybe even (hopeful thinking alert!) Create a linear and open world 3D zelda, or if a not linear Zelda then a 2.5D zelda.

Personally, aside from the price, Labo seems to be a perfect tech demo. It shows off the unique features of the Switch and joy cons perfectly, like the IR camera, gyroscope, and HD rumble. As such, especially looking at the garage portion, it shows developers things they can do with their games beyond just using control sticks and buttons. The question is just whether or not they actually make use of it, as only Nintendo themselves made use of the Wii U gamepad, and even that was rare, and the Wii didn't have much more usage of the motion controls

The Motorcycle handle Toy Con and the Car Toy-Con are both supported in MarioKart 8 Deluxe, which I think is a genius idea, it turns them into actual peripherals!

i still play my labo sometimes, mostly the fishing game. the motorcycle toycon is really fun to play mario kart with too! but im easily entertained
Was walking through WallyWorld a while back when these came out and saw them. Cardboard boxes, with more cardboard inside, that would have to be assembled, for 70 or 80 bucks...I remember thinking: "Well played Nintendo, well played."

I still don't have it yet, but since summer's coming up, maybe I'll get it for the summer (toy-con 1 that is, toy-con 2 might be fun, but if you want to fight one-on-one, then you'll need an extra player and sometimes you don't have an extra player because either your parents are busy, you don't have any friends, or you do have friends, they're just not interested in video games)!!

The only thing I would do with the motorcycle is use it in mario kart 8 deluxe. Also, fishing minigame = fishing minigame from AR games on 3ds (if ANYONE remembers that)

Plz do vehicle kit now. I have one, my friend has variety kit. I've played both, and Vehicle Kit is MUCH more worth it. And i mean, it's the same price of variety kit, and it offers a much more balanced, immersive experience. Just adventure mode itself guarantee you at least 6 hours of gameplay if you want to 100% it. The other modes are way fun, and even though to have the complete experience of some of them you need more than one vehicle kit, in discover mode you can actually customize controls for each game the way you want! For example, I can play racing mode with joy-con sideways traditional way to play, if I want. It's the best of the three kits, for sure.
