The location was Bronson Caves, Griffith Park, Los Angeles.
Yes! I have been there!
This was filmed at the old Bat Cave from the Batman TV show…
I love that they never corrected the wrong lyrics being displayed on this song.
It was so distracting to me that I had to cover them with my hand. How does that happen anyway?
That’s why I prefer the sing-a-long version when I watch it
What are the incorrect lyrics?
@@cherylhowe1541 The lyrics are from a different PTX Christmas song than Mary Did You Know on the bottom when you turn on captions.
Ok, I saw that. I thought you meant they sang some incorrect words. Thanks!
Definitely react to their new cover “Kiss From a Rose” it’s one of the best they’ve ever done!
This is a PTX classic. They are singing it on tour now. Thank you for your reaction. I've seen all their videos dozens of times and never get tired of them. There are only a couple I am not crazy about.
This video got 8 million views the first week it was released, and the song ended up the #1 song on the Billboard Christmas Digital chart in December, 2014.
Beautiful how that light gives Kirsten a Halo effect
😇 😇 😇
This was filmed in Bronson Canyon in the "Bat Cave" that was used in the tv series "Batman".
You will soon give up on trying to pick a favorite anything when it comes to Pentatonix. It's an impossible task that will just get harder, lol!
True. My favorites change almost every day.
Some of the shots with Kirstin in front of the lights is meant to give a “halo” effect around her to depict the Holy Mary Mother of God. Very clever of them, but there are subtle depictions in virtually all videos they make. They are true artists!
This is my favorite Christmas song.
Did you notice that almost every time they focused on Kirsten, the light was behind her like a halo?
The answer, no they NEVER let down the listeners, magic.
I definitely read that they had brought in giant lights for this video. You are right.
This is one of my favorite song of theirs
They are so amazing!!
It's normal to have a favorite. I know some pentaholics disagree, but this pentaholic believes it's perfectly natural. Each member is very different, it's understandable some would just resonate with your soul more. Doesn't mean you're disloyal or saying the other members aren't good of you don't like them. People had a favorite Beatles too! It's ok! Mine is mitch. All day every day. He's the best singer, the other members have sad this too, with the widest range which i don't think he's even fully "came out," with yet. That said. Scott is the most vocally flexible. And Kevin is the most talented and flexible with overall musical ability beyond just vocals.
I love them all, but I'd have to say that Avi/Matt are my favorites. As an alto, when I stood in various choral groups, the altos were always placed next to the basses, because the two parts created the harmonic core that the sopranos and tenors sang above. We always listened carefully to what the basses were singing, so listening to Avi/Matt is natural to me. Avi's bass was rich and warm, while Matt's is brighter and slightly higher in range, but they are both wonderful.
Scott stan here :)
It's just waouh 😄❤️
YAY!! More Pentatonix ❤❤❤
This is off their first Christmas studio album That's Christmas To Me, of six studio albums, one EP and two compilation albums with a few extra songs. Their newer one came out for this Christmas called The Greatest Christmas Hits. They're on their Christmas tour right now.
Other Christmas songs I recommend are Little Drummer Boy, Angels We Have Heard On High, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, White Winter Hymnal, Winter Wonderland/Don't Worry Be Happy feat. Tori Kelly, Silent Night, That's Christmas To Me (original), Joy To The World, The First Noel, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Coldest Winter, O Come All Ye Faithful, Away In A Manger, Where Are You Christmas?, Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, What Christmas Means To Me, Making Christmas, Sweater Weather, Grown Up Christmas List feat. Kelly Clarkson, Deck The Halls, You're A Mean One Mr.Grinch, Do You Hear What I Hear? feat. Whitney Houston, God Only Knows, Prayers For This World, 12 Days of Christmas, My Favorite Things, Thank You (original), Over The River feat. Lindsey Stirling, Kid On Christmas feat. Meghan Trainor (original), Christmas In Our Hearts feat. Lea Salonga, Please Santa Please (original), Kiss From a Rose and Pure Imagination/Christmas Time Is Here.
5 part harmony perfection😊
Love your reaction, it is one of my favorites. The Prayer is my favorite by them and I also love "Where Are You Christmas"? As You said, you can't go wrong with any of their songs!!
Great Reaction!
This entire video is beautiful, the location, the song, the singers, the lighting ~ this is in my top PTX favorites!
When I went to Hollywood to watch PTX get their Star on the Walk of Fame I made sure to hike up to this cave and it was so awesome!!! Such a cool place. Great reaction 👏🏾
That cave was used in the old Batman for TV series.
This was the batcave from the 1960s tv show with Adam West
Since you're enjoying Pentatonix so much, you should really check out VoicePlay. Those guys are amazing!
New subscriber for PTX. Pentaholic from the beginning. It’s near Dodgers Stadium and where they filmed the original Batman series from the sixties. So if you’re in SoCal then it’s more than likely you’re right about recognizing the cave. If so. Greetings from Southern California. Also if so…go Dodgers. It’s also said that your favorite video is the one you just watched. 😂🤗💋🥰
Thank you...
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful...
I love this song to but if you really want to try 90s version of pentonix I say it's my number 2... I also been enjoying you Buffy reaction to, brings me back to when first came out. But remember the Buffy movie came before the TV series. Keep safe all 😊❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
Pentatonix you need to hear The prayer. Please do reaction on this
Thank you for this reaction. I love Pentatonix so much. Please react for other songs. They are so amazing.
No, PTX NEVER disappoints!!!
I love when Kevin sings too. He sings in Imagine, Amazing Grace, and YOU HAVE GOT TO LISTEN TO “Kiss From a Rose” because Kevin will blow you away. No Spoiler here. Great reaction💕
This is the second best rendition of MARY DID YOU KNOW ...... While they do a good job as always herein ... the solos are soft and then climax for effect .... effects are good .... the Bass is never a feature or good bottom to the mid range vocals and that is perhaps a style preference ..... Friends with Home Free - thee best voices on the planet also do it and THEY KNOCK IT OUT OF THE PARK. GBjj
PTX and Lindsey Stirling did Radioactive cover. Best cover ever of that song.
You should check out Mary Did You Know by Corvyx! It is so cool!
Wrong subtitles?
Strangely enough, it has never been corrected.
@@barbarakennedy2667 Yeah, it's been this way for several years now. No idea why it hasn't been corrected - it's very distracting for me if someone has closed captions on and shows it in the reaction. I've seen several reactors who also got distracted and had to turn them off and restart the video, so it's not just me!
I may be wrong, but I think what they were portraying with the lighting effects is that Jesus was Buried in a cave. Three days later, they moved the rock, light went in…. And he was not there. That’s what I choose to believe, anyway. 😊
I'm Jewish and I absolutely positively detest Christmas songs with the 1 exception being Pentatonix. And this song is probably my favorite. I'm glad to other people saw lyrics on the bottom of the screen that didn't go to the song because I thought maybe I ate The wrong plate of brownies
react to some indian songs too....u will be loved by all
Subscribed. Pentatonix is awesome! I like your channel. May I suggest a rection to BABYMETAL. Their music has a positive and uplifting message. They have a fun and awesome performance:
BABYMETAL - PA PA YA!! (feat. F.HERO) (OFFICIAL)
Or:
MAYA【Live Blu-ray/DVD「BABYMETAL BEGINS - THE OTHER ONE -」"BLACK NIGHT"】 🖖 ❤
Great reaction but would suggest that you turn off closed captions. Didn’t even match lyrics to this song.
I don't know, maybe it is because I heard Peter Hollens do this song long before I heard Pentatonix do it, that I feel like they rely far too much on atmosphere here. Of course they sound beautiful, they always do, but Peter sings all the parts himself and it just always blows me away in a way that this one can't quite do the same, because they are all locked to one range each. Peter isn't and he can make the drum sounds and the musical notes with his voice. If you get the chance you should check him out, the version in the church. Not necessarily here, just to watch.
