So I had an early 2023 Model Y LR 7seater HW3 which had issues and was purchased back from me by Tesla. Now I have a few weeks old Model Y Performance HW4 I was so surprised at the similar feeling of the 21inch uberturbine wheels on this Performance model vs the 19 inch Gemini wheels I had on the LR model. There's barely any difference in stiffness except for maybe more road noise due to wider 255 front n 275 rear tires. I already ordered 18inch Martian MW05 wheels and looking forward to install those Sailun tires going with 235/55r18 for maximum range and comfort plus the added bonus of cheaper tires to replace in the future.

How much does this suspension increase body roll? The rep from UP is recommending I include the sway bars if I'm going to get this for my 2023 MYLR, but that adds over $600.
I like my Pirelli P Zero tires and my 21" Uberturbine wheels. And I like and prefer the height of my MYP as is just fine. Do not want it even 0.1" lower. It looks as if this option will lower your MY, period. What suspension can I get that will not lower my MYP. You mentioned performance tires will stiffen the ride, anyway. So how much difference is (softer) ride should one expect to see with UP coilover (which), not lowering vehicle and still with my P Zero tires?
I was wondering why Tesla ships the Model Y was negative camber. After some Googling the negative camber is suppose to help improve stability and handling during cornering and at high speeds.
Bought a myp with 21 uberturnies. Ride is rough, wondering what I should do first buy new set of tires and wheels? Or buy shocks and coils, I love the uberturnines but not if the ride is very rough, can we adjust current shocks to softer ride?

Dampers looks like tein rebranded, everything is the same except paint: same body shape and damper knob, even the nut is the same as tein. I hope internals are not the same. I am just switching from tein with oem springs to this kit with mild springs and I noticed right away how similar those dampers are. At least the stifness adjustment is different from Tein.
Cool, so why did you change? Did you get the effect you were looking for?
@@fredrik-wendt with Upp mild springs and their dampers the ride was better on small bumps and road imperfections, better handling but rougher on high bumps like speed bumps. The worst issue was the springs were binding when turning the steering wheel resulting in a clonking sound which was very annoying. I moved back to stock suspension and a few weeks later I installed Koni+ (red dampers and votgland spring) available only from Reber Germany and their partners being a different setup than the koni red series. Much better ride than Tein and Upp combinations on every aspect.
@@ovidiunecula3233 Gotcha, thanks! I'm on Tein EnduraPro+ with stock springs. I'm satisfied with ride quality, but handling at high speeds is negatively impacted - not much, but to a point where I'd like a better solution.
@@fredrikwendt9696maybe you set up way too soft. I would recommend adjusting to 8 in front and 10 on the back from full stiff and try again.
There is no discount code for unplugged performance?
nope
Where did you get that dash cover from ?
vion.parts code Gjeebs will save 10%
I'd love to do this but it would end my warranty ☹
No it wouldn't
@@Gjeebs that’s good to know. Thanks for the response!
No it won't mess with your warranty, I did the following to my mini cooper electric, Koni FSD shock, Eibach lowering springs, SPC lower camber arms, Megan racing upper camber arms, and Neuspeed rear sway bar, ride is perfect and handles much better than stock.
Are they better than Koni active or Tein Endura?
We think so. These were specifically developed and tuned for the Model Y with optimal comfort as the goal.
In combination with UPP mild springs definitely not worth it because are sport oriented. Maybe the shocks along with oem springs will be a better setup for comfort.
they look actually exactly like the koni,
I wouldnt wonder if they technically come from the same factory
But Id wait to the car was out of warranty. I strongly suggest this modification would void the manufacturers warranty and good luck to you then. PS Im in the West Palm area and its almost impossible to find a shop that would install this. I used to go to Electric Garage but they went out of business here.
The manufacturer would have to prove the modification directly caused a failure. UP specifically is famous for fighting for you with Tesla on warranty stuff. Learn your rights.
@@OptimizedTesla The service they provide is not free and have no idea how much they charge so you have to ask yourself is what you do worth it. I practiced law for over 30 years and I can tell you. The contracts that you sign when you purchase your Tesla are air tight and drafted by their attorneys who are top notch in drafting written agreements. And they have an in house litigation staff to oppose you and top law firms on retainer. So good luck to you when you oppose them especially if you cant afford to litigate.
Do they match my luxury vinyl flooring? Closing world names.
Curious on what springs did you end up going with that kit the mild 1inch drop or the moderate 1.5
Thank you
I did mild
The irony of going to "Unplugged Performance" with an EV...
Its a shame they dont have east coast presence. Id jump on it
I have installed UPP Luxury Suspension kit with their mild springs on my Y Performance from 2023 and I noticed a clunk noise while turning the wheel full turn which can be heard from outside (front left side) but is louder inside the cabin. Anyone noticed the same and how did you fix it?
ruclips.net/user/shortsV-4KGSi7ifY?feature=share
I heard really bad things about this brand, noise coming from the soings when turning, and you can't barely see any drop.
Why don’t you help the guy?
👍
Julio looks like a Latino Al b Sure
Why he call it FUCA so weird man. Just say upper control arm 😂🤦🏻♂️
The trouble I have is paying premium price for a car and then having to shell out thousands for aftermarket modifications
You don't have to do that at all
People pay all this money for a Tesla, only to have to spend a lot to modify it to make it a better car. Should have been better from the start for the price people pay.
I've thought about this way too much. Fanboys do mental gymnastics to justify it, but at the end of the day it's just not a $50k car, even in 2024 after everyone said they had worked out the quality control issues (they haven't).
I am view number 482, but only like number 69. what's wrong with those other 413 people
Tesla is the Glock of EV’s. Buy first then must replace every component to make acceptable. Neither are very usable off the shelf.
You can’t be serious. How many Tesla owners have never repaired, replaced, or modified their suspension? >99% It’s just the guys who are looking to pi$$ away money on suspension, wrap, wheels & tires to make their ride unique because they can.
@@tomdrewenskus8167I guess most of them are not happy with the OEM Tesla suspension. It’s so uncomfortable for passengers.
@@TheRacingShawn That’s just not true. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the suspension of any Tesla model, and I have ridden/driven every model. The problems appear as too stiff of a suspension when you go with the larger wheels and lower profile tires. These folks going that route are just trying to make a higher/highest performance better/best handling Tesla by throwing lots of money into it. Otherwise, show me RUclips videos telling others what is wrong with the stock Tesla suspension and wheels.
@@tomdrewenskus8167to each his own and not because we are moving to EVs we should not continue to modify our cars! I am fifty and I enjoy modifying my car, I have a mini cooper electric for my daily and I done all this guy is doing to his Tesla,
@@tomdrewenskus8167 Man, you don’t need a video, you just need to have a Tesla for some time to tell. Among all the cars (16 outback 3.6r, 18 golf r, 18 Macan gts) I owned in the past years, 2023 model y is the only one my mom, wife and toddler son hating to sit in… Model Y is a decent driver’s car. But it’s an incomplete product for passengers. I don’t know why Tesla hasn’t improve their suspension tech after all these years. Maybe the lack of competition and the protection from US government make Tesla less customer centric.
Tesla need to build a charging stations. There’s no fucking super charging stations in the northern eastern part of the United States.
Jeebs that poor car 😂just drive the car and be happy I think your trying to make that car something it will never be tesla frowns on modifying the car not to mention anything to do with suspension or handling of that car your warranty will be voided are you really pushing that car to its limits I doubt it
Clueless comment
These cars should come with this more comfortable suspension from the factory.
Regarding warranties, the manufacturer has to prove the particular modification DIRECTLY caused the particular failure. Learn your warranty rights. Apparently Unplugged specifically is actually famous for fighting for people with Tesla on warranty stuff.
You forgot to,add that the free tires just turned into paid shocks and springs 😂😂😂
Why bother putting in performance parts in a Tesla of all vehicles? Adding weight will reduce the amount of juice the car will produce due to the extra parts and you’ll have less range from your battery.
I’m just going to guess from your comment that you don’t own a Tesla.
Less than 1% of Y owners modify their factory suspension.
