Just used your video to fix my 05 accord trunk latch. The two screws that hold the latch to the “bracket” broke. Had remove screws, tap some 6-32s, and then redo the connections. Thanks!
good one. i am missing that same screw that held the actuator in place and was thinking about rigging it with another screw like this before buying new one. I will try it and if it holds and opens i will let you know with HI FIVE!
This just happen to me on a 2005 Honda Accord. One of the screws that holds the locking assembly to the bracket sheared off and wasn’t able to unlatch the trunk with the solenoid or key. Had to go in through the back seat and hold the latch assembly with one had and hit the key with the other to open the trunk. Removed what was left of the screw with pliers on the bracket. Honda will make you buy the whole locking assembly and not just the screws. So I went to a local Fasterner store and bought 2 new M3x20 pan head screws for a buck and attached. Everything is working as normal now.
@@ModernGunCraft On the 05 Accord, there is a key slot on the back deck behind the seats. Just put in the key and turned it, then pulled the seats forward.
Yo thank you for this fr tho. I spent like 2-2.5 hours today trying to figure out what screw to get. No one at home Depot knew since i didn't have a screw and also one is broke off and stuck on the back side Soni can't get the other one in all the way. Gotta get ae pliers and try what you did but the screw size helped. Got it tapped down with gorilla tape as well. That how it was staying on there in the first place was with tape and lasted a whole year and a half before it stopped working 😂😂.
You should be able to use your ignition key to open the back seats from the inside of the car. That's how I got in. I then had to push my subwoofers out of the way.
I basically stuffed my trunk with a lot of things and now it won’t open idk what to do because I can’t pull anything out from the inside bc of my bass :/ any ideas?
Having the same problem and I also have subs in my trunk so it’s been a pain. How did you get it open ? I can’t to work on it and can’t stand to do it in the back seat
I used the ignition key to open the back seats and crawled my way through while slowly sliding the subs out of the way. It took me some time and it was a hot day but I got er done.
