How to replace Trunk Latch 2013-2015 Honda Civic

I replace the trunk latch on a 2015 Honda Civic SE. With a broken latch the trunk might not open when you press the trunk release button on the key. The trunk light might not turn on when the trunk is open if the latch is bad.
With a bad latch you probably will need to pull on the manual release lever located next to the driver seat if you want to open the trunk.

Thank you for this! I have an issue on my Honda where my alarm is going off randomly. Prior to that shortly before the dash was saying the trunk was open even though it was clearly closed. I believe the latch or switch may be bad. I will try disconnecting the switch for now to keep the car quiet at least

If you remove the liner and if I remember there's a plastic cover on the latch. Remove the plastic cover, you might be able to see if the latch is loose or broken.

What size is the bolt ?

I changed mine but it's still not opening or making any sounds
