I have a friend from here (Hawai'i) who recently retired to Fort O'Connor due to much lower cost of living. He's been sending me photos of his fishing success including Specs, Reds, and even a giant Black Drum. He's trying to get me there to try some marsh fishing. Raised in Hawai'i I can't survive on my meager retirement check in Hawai'i so Texas is looking better and better.

Where do you launch from? The marsh is a long way from where my dad and I launch his 23 ft boat Froggies bait dock. I have a peddle drive Kayak and it seems like I would run out of breath before getting to the marsh. Any suggestions / info will be appreciated!!

Another great travelogue video. Keep them coming. I’ve taken a sailboat in and out of the jetties there but never fished there. Hugh waves between the jetties if outgoing tide and south wind.

There use to be a old man here in Corpus that had a dog that would smell out the trout !!!!!!!!
I need to hear more about this trout sniffing dog!
@@TrailChaser This man back in 1991 had a little dog that he took fishing in Corpus Christi bay in a Jon boat. at first the man did not know what the dog was barking at. When he caught a trout the dog would bite it and give it to the man . This was on the local news and they showed him doing it. Like your videos

16th street next to the TPWD building. It's an official Texas paddle trails launch. The other tpwd paddle trails launch in POC is at the little jetties.(far SW corner of town)

Is Barroom Bay deep enough for a 20' pontoon boat? Also would it be safe to take a pontoon boat to the jetties? I want to take my family. I have a 70hp it only goes 21 mph. I been watching your videos lately and you really know your stuff. I am learning so when I go I can catch fish like you.

I'm glad you got to experience that style of fishing. sight casting reds in super skinny water. That's what gets my heart going. The only thing that sucks is that I cant tell any body where I'm fishing.
