Dang this was bittersweet. I sold my 987 in 2019, but I bought an 08’ S8 in 2020. I love them both but practically the S8 suits my needs , the 987 was just so much fun to daily drive. Daily usable power, braking on a dime , great handling characteristics, great mpgs.
I just wanna say thanks for your informative videos over the years! I just got my learner car last night, it only cost £1000 and it is a Ford StreetKA in British Racing Green! Quite a nice example, luckily it doesn't have much rust, it only has a few minor issues (breaks need doing, needs some new fuses) its a really good car. 😀
What about the R53 Mini Cooper S, you can get those under 10K even under 5K. A lot of people call those the "last proper Mini Cooper S" before the supercharger got swapped out for a turbo.
Another great vid JB. The BMW 840 is the one to go for as it is the V8 rather that the 850 which has the V12. The XJS is great if you have the balls to own one because of the electrical problems. The SL500 was one I thought about buying but suspension issues made me think twice. Again, thought about the Boxster but the £1500 fix of the IMS put me off. Wishing you all the best.......
Friend of mine who is a car mechanic had a Audi S8. He ended up rebuilding the engine at a trade cost to him of £7000 and even after that it wasn't fully right. Potential crippling money pits. Proceed with extreme caution. Here's maybe another one for you, Fiat Barchetta?
That Fiat is properly lovely. GT4 too. Not entirely sure about the 987S. They're holding value, but then that's just a Porsche thing. 986 does the pure driving thing even better and the 981 is next gen but looks 20 years newer. 987 definitely works better as a Boxster than a Cayman though, the 987C always looked awkward to me. That said, not being my favourite Porsche sports car is like not being a girlfriend's favourite boob. More so, because my favourite Porsche hasn't buggered off recently 😁 Unnecessarily immature but she'll never see this so I can get away with that one! Maybe I'll replace her with a Fiat Coupé...nah, being let down once was more than enough 😆
JB brabus has been gone up in last 2 3years you could get 1for 3grand , 8 series you could pick 1up for 4grand 10-12years ago Mike Brewer bought a reasonable 06 840 for 3500.
Yo! I've got a 1996 JDM Integra type r, 65k miles, pretty much standard, good condition. I see valuations varying wildly, some along up to 25k on eBay (I wish) and I've had a few random people offer me 4-6 k over the last couple of years. Can anyone give me a rough ball park price to sell near? Tempted to just auction. Kind of lost interest in cars, dad passed away a few years ago and I've never been able to get back into the enjoyment of running and maintaining special cars. I'm currently driving a jazz and a fiesta, I've become an a-b man in my old age
I've brought my S2000 as an investment aswel as a my dream car, But I run 2 cars a an s2000 and a starlet, I could easily just have one nice new car like everyone else but both of my cars a getting rare now and I live driving a cool car you don't see all the time And forget the face-lift eventually the original models are always worth more and the raw ap1 is savage
@@CarsWithJB Seriously mines just an ep91 no turbo it's amazing fun, had it less than a month but its going too be fun project want it handling like a go cart it's bloody nippy very responsive, brought a glanza scoop to fit nb mx5 tombstone seats and an anti lift kit, it's already lowered on decent wheels, the little thing makes me smile everytimd I drive it. Obviously I'll be doing a lot more possibly turbo but want to give it my Mrs when we have a kid so I can get sleeper volvo as a family car
@@ExiMinT you got it like 5 years ago? Because that’s ridiculously cheap no wonder your thinking it’s a bargain. On the west coast that price for that many miles is 20k and up . When did you get it? I daily drove a speed yellow 987 Boxster , for 3 years / 33k miles after selling my 968. I got it for 11k at 115k miles in late 2016. Drove it for 3years/33k miles , hard, I mean I abused that car. it never broke down , always met up to my expectations , if not exceeded , never gave me problems one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever had . I wouldn’t hesistate on buying any 987 ever. Even the early 986 dual row ims boxsters are badass , and very reliable .
Honda S2000 prices are already through the roof and keep rising. An example under £10,000? That sounds like a Japanese money pit (no oxymoron intended 😆).
Because however confident you can be in an investment, you can never be 100% certain! Who knew the McLaren F1 was going to hit £25m when it was less than £1m for quite a while?!
Stop talking about what you don't know man. A low-mileage and well-maintained Audi S8 costs more than that and above all, I'm going to ask you a question? do you know why the coast is low? because this car costs a fortune to maintain. I have one so I know what I'm talking about. Because of people like you, we find heaps of mud on the second-hand market, because people want to be rich and don't assume afterwards.
@@christian_urocar I've had it for almost 3 years and it's my fun car only for the weekend. I take very good care of it, I am the second owner and the car has always been maintained at Audi since the beginning. Lots of maintenance, you will notice on S8 youtube videos, you can see check engine light on dashboard often. Usually it smells bad. in short it is expensive to maintain but the pleasure is priceless. and I am very happy. I've never had a warranty on mine, and I've always paid for everything myself. It's the 5.2 V10 of the Lamborghini gallardo inside so inevitably that at a cost. don't forget that guys.

Hey JB love the channel. Would love to see a list focused on comfort ? Like most comfortable cars under 10k - ?! That would be cool
Best car channel on the net, keep up the great work.
Bmw 130i should be on here. Last of the naturally aspirated and great fun. Pretty rare now too. Great video thank you
So close to 100k bro !!
It’s coming!
Sorry but I can’t agree on the XJS, it’s had plenty of opportunity to appreciate and it just hasn’t.
Nearly 100k mate
Almost there 👀
my mate has S2000, been stood on his drive unused for about 5 years, gone from red to pink
Savage - take it as a project!
Fancy selling?? 👀👀👀
Cool hair dude! :)
Cheers man - I’ve been too busy to get my hair cut for ages!
I bought a 125d last year for 6k not cat listed
Can easily sell for about 8-9k
Good work as always mate! Bought a 2004 Z4 today, and it’s certainly up your street!
you should do a setup tour!
JB can u tell me if the Toyota celica vvti is going up in value? (Maybe another video for cheaper cars going up in price???)
I’ll have to do some research - it’s a strange one because it wasn’t as popular as maybe people would have liked it to be!
This was cool, really like the BMW, what do you think of the BMW E60 530 msport diesel auto?
I love the E60 as a shape, the 530 I don’t know about reliability!
Diesel kills!
@@CarsWithJB I must be lucky lol mine has 160000 and still going strong:)
I think the 2nd gen Impreza WRX's belong on this list as well.
Do you think the facelift SL500 with the larger 5.5l V8 is an even better investment?
i'm a kid and what im gonna say, is that JBs videos are really interestng
I’m glad!
Keep these videos up🙏🏾❤️
You know I will!
Congrats 100k from now
Haha not there yet, still got some grind to go!
The Lotus Type 116.
They are basically a Elise that is more powerful and faster.
Also cheap in UK as they are Badged as a Vauxhal

I killed my 986 in the ice. Regardless of rising value they are just great value for a fun car. What about the e46 M3? My Smg cab was sub 10k
Would love to own a celica gt4 or s2000 hopeful they dont increase that much within 5yrs
the s8 is also one i like
