- Installing Tillett Seats in the Lotus Elise
The Tillett B6 carbon fiber racing seats are a popular option for the Lotus Elise and Exige, as it is a FIA homologated racing seat, designed with the Lotus in mind - fitment is good and comes with a direct bolt-in bracket kit.

Thanks for doing the great review. Just for your viewers information, the larger "edges off" B6-43 XL Screamer version does fit the Elise Exige well, as does the new B8-43, which is also wider and more convenient for use with stock seat belts.
Thanks for the clarification Steve! I've pinned this comment for that purpose.
Seriously one of the most comfortable seats I've been in, and beautiful. The car should finally be back together in the next month, I'll tag you in some final photos when it's all wrapped up!
Bad ass! Y’all did great! I honestly can’t imagine anything more beautiful than carbon fiber
They look good 👌 Brandon seems useful!
Couldn't do all this without him!
Very good quality video! I am looking at getting these for my track corvette. They look really good and I like how lightweight they are
You'll like them even more in person - such a tight, form fitting hold yet very comfortable even without the pads. Thank you for watching 👊🏼
Can’t wait to see those senna look-a-likes! 🔥🔥🔥
I think the final versions I recently finished are going to look great! Waiting to hear back from a place that does CnC stitching and laser work on upholstery, so a few weeks behind on the project but it's moving along finally!
Our seat has been out since 2002 so the Senna seat is a Tillett look alike 😀
dang I was wondering why you put the ol' ones up for sale
Yeah I did really like them - these are a bit overkill for how little I drive the car to it's limit, but they are very fitting and the custom pads we're making for them will look great I think!
Hey, do you know whether these lowered the seat at all? Do you have any measurements?
I wish I had an answer for you, but I have no idea if they actually sit lower, it feels very similar to me so if they do it's not significant. You should be able to get a more accurate answer directly from Tillett or send Greg's Race Parts a message as well! Best of luck 🤙🏼
Hey mate, i was wondering, which sizes you used? Do you know, if the B6-47 XL Screamer would fit as well? Thanks :)
So these are the standard B6 I believe, and it's and incredibly tight fit. I have basically no room for a wider seat. If you'll shoot Steve Tillett or Greg at Greg's Race Parts an email they will have the exact info and make sure you get a seat that fits perfectly!
@@TonyMaples ok thanks for your quick response. I‘m goona go ask them guys about the best solution. Have a good one :)
@@9NoOnE1 of course, always happy to answer questions! Usually I have a better answer than "email the manufacturer" haha so feel free to reach out again in the future!
can you post a vid with the new interior? i can't decide vs b5 and b6 seats
So it will be 3 or 4 weeks before the finished interior is all wrapped up, but I can give you my thoughts on the B6. They are extreme, very deep buckets, one of the tightest fitting seats I've ever been in. Anyone over a 34 waist will likely not fit. Probably overkill for my car, but they feel great and are surprisingly comfortable. The B5 is much more tame and more like a stock style bucket seat, it's a very similar design to the oem Lotus seats actually.
@@TonyMaples thanks, I think I will go for the b6 - it seems like it will distribute weight better, making it deceptively comfortable. Everyone who has the b6 says they are more comfortable than expected. The only potential downside is ditching the 3 point. Did you mount the driver seat on stock rails or use the tillett fixed mount?
Used the stock slider with the Tillett brackets for the Elise so it retains the slider. Also keeping the 3 points, not technically the "proper" way to do it but they fit fine.
🤤🤤🤤🤤 me want
They feel amazing! Almost feel molded to my body, very impresssed so far.
We actually won't have the finished seats in the car until January, I'm currently making the custom templates for the pads myself, and the upholstery shop will do their job after the new year 🤙🏼
@@TonyMaples great stuff
This the non XL model? Also is it with rolled edges or without?
