By their fruits we will know them. It was up to him to give the money or not. If he didn't someone else would have. But to give it with such a vile condition 😳🙄, that's evil.
I've run into these "prayer as spell" workings before, especially as curses. Usually they're pretty easy to brush off like cobwebs since the practioner has no real power but if an entire congregation gets behind them they can be annoying. There's an film called "War Room" which entreats Christians to develop ritual rooms in their house and pray for the US to become a Christian theocracy which I believe has created problematic tendencies in the last decade or so. They go for quantity over quality.

What you described at your mother-in-law’s funeral is exactly why I never respected the Church, even as a child, and why I have a strong disdain, if not dislike and distrust, for Christianity.

Im so sorry! As a former Christian and now witch going back to those spaces can be very triggering. It really takes you back and makes you feel like you’re right back there again. I am so very sorry the funeral was hijacked by the preacher & their awful spiteful vileness 🤬 it made me really cross so I had to put myself in a time out before leaving a comment 😜
You are so right, the funeral should’ve been focused on your mother in law, a celebration of her life. And everyone there who came to pay their respects should have been respected.

I try to avoid my in laws funerals and weddings because of the large doses of christianity that make me cringe just thinking about the next funeral. I'd almost rather be dead than go to another one.
Man that is why I hate so many people who either put a curse on those begging for money or just don’t give money to someone asking for money through begging. I hate how those same people are like I am so good and nice person but I don’t give money to people begging. To saying I don’t want someone to not ever be able to help themselves. I just want to tell that person who beleives that about people begging in public for money and handouts “okay you can just say you like to say Hitler is bad for what he did to other but I (that person who never gives to beggars) is much worse than Hitler”. Just keep it simple we know thou are a terrible person.
Definitely some horrible humans out there.
Condolences, My wife and I decided to be cremated because we don't want a Christian funeral. If we have a service we'll try to find a Pagan one.
